Southern Ag Calcium Nitrate is designed to help prevent Calcium deficiency in growing crops. It provides just the right amount of Calcium and Nitrogen to vegetables and annual flowers and is particularly useful as supplemental fertilizer or side dressing. This granular formulation is readily water soluble so it is very easy to apply. Available in 5 lb. and Pro-grade 50 lb. bag.

Vegetables and Annual Flowers
As a supplemental (side dressing) fertilizer application. Apply 1 pound per 100 feet of row (1 cup per 50 feet of row or 1 level teaspoonful per plant). Apply to root growing area. Do not place within 2 inches of stalk or crown of plants. Do not allow contact with wet foliage. A second application two weeks after the first is suggested.
Calcium Nitrate may be used as a foliar spray for the addition of supplemental nitrogen and calcium. Apply as a full cover spray using 5 pounds per 100 gallons of spray. Applications within 1 week of harvest may adversely affect carrying quality of harvested produce.
Apples and Other Fruit Crops
Ground application broadcast under the tree. Use at rate of 1/2 pound for each year of tree growth to a maximum of 8 pounds per tree. Apply in February or apply in split applications in February and October.
Calcium Nitrate may be used as a foliar spray as an aid in the reduction of "bitter pit" and "cork spot" on apples. Apply with cover sprays every other week until 2 or 3 weeks before harvest using 3 pounds per hundred gallons of spray.
