According to the Steri-Fab Insecticide Safety Data Sheet, if this product comes in contact with your skin or clothing take off contaminated clothing and rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15- 20 minutes. If skin irritation is experienced, consult a doctor.
Steri-Fab does have a distinct odor that smells somewhat like alcohol, but it will dissipate as the spray dries. We suggest airing out the room by using a fan and/or opening windows and allowing the treatment to dry completely (usually at least 20 minutes) before replacing linens on the bed. If the mattress still has an odor after over an hour, then you may have applied too much product and it will just take longer to air out.
Sterifab can be used on surfaces and articles including cracks, crevices, seams, creases, and folds of mattresses or other furniture, rugs and carpets, animal quarters and surrounding areas, restroom surfaces, non-porous and non-food contact surfaces in kitchens, other non-porous surfaces. It can not be used around any exposed food and this should be removed from the area being treated.
Although carpet moths aren't listed on the product label for Steri-Fab Insecticide, it will kill any insect on contact until the product dries, but won't leave any residual. We cannot guarantee the application won't stain your oriental rug, so you may want to do a spot test in an inconspicuous area before applying to a larger area. We would recommend reading our article on How to Get Rid of Clothes Moths for treatment steps and product recommendations to eliminate your moth problem.
Steri-Fab Insecticide is known to have a rubbing alcohol odor to it but once dry, the odor would fade. Sterifab is great for a contact kill for treating mattresses, cushions, bedding, etc. however since this product does not leave any residual after drying, it should be used in combination with additional products for a complete bed bug program.
