Works well on Kyllinga
By Jp on 06/02/2018
I had a pretty serious invasion of Kyllinga in a section of my northern grass lawn (Ky bluegrass, fine & tall fescues, and perennial rye mix). In early May (typical daytime temps 80*F), I applied Sulfentrazone 4SC at a 6 oz./acre rate with a 2gal pump sprayer with a fan tip. At this rate, it killed broadleaf weeds in 48 hours or less. The Kyllinga took 3-4 weeks to die, as did a few spots of nutsedge, but control was very effective. It did no notable damage to the lawn grasses. Note that at this rate, the amount of product to use is very small. In 2 gallons of water I used 0.135 fl. oz. (3/4 tsp or 4mL) of product sprayed over +/- 1000 square feet. I have not yet used it with the intent of broadleaf weed control, but it seems that it would be very effective for this. I do plan to use it for late summer/early autumn pre-emergent weed control, but that will have to be a separate review.

I'm done with spot spraying for weeds
By Tom on 06/03/2020
Sulfentrazone 4SC Select is destroying my nutsedge, crabgrass, goosegrass, and some miscellaneous broadleaf weeds in my Bermuda lawn with no adverse impact to my Bermuda. I applied it yesterday using a towable sprayer and could not be more satisfied. Visible results were seen in hours, not days. I wish I could post a picture. There is nothing else I have used that kills goosegrass this dead without killing areas of my lawn. Many goosegrass plants turned from green to light brown overnight.

KILLS NUT GRASS IN THREE DAYS
By Matt on 09/17/2018
Excellent for Nutgrass
By Steve on 08/16/2019
One heaping teaspoon per gallon of water with Sticker eradicated my nutgrass in Tall Fescue. You have to be diligent about catching all small thin new eruptions or go back a Tim or two to catch all new growth. Excellent product!

St. Augustine Bitter Blue and Floratam
By Darrel on 04/08/2019
I live in central Florida and have a mix of St. Augustine, Centapede,Zoysia,Bermuda grass. The label states it stunts St.Augustine. Well, it does. I applied this middle March and I thought I may loose my lawn. It is now the first week of April and the lawn is turning green again. I know it has killed some weeds but the full effect is unknown so far. Use on the low end of the recommended dose and be prepared.

Worked on Wild Violets and Ivy
By Donald on 08/28/2020
Mixed as directed and sprayed. Looked like nothing was happening for about three days then I noticed tiny white spots on leaves. By day seven about 95% of wild violets and creeping charlie was wilted and showing considerable white on the leaves. Has now been two weeks since sprayed and no damage to grass but the weeds are curled up, white and dying if not brown from rot. Not cheap, but a little is all you need and since It Works, it is worth it.

Magic It Is !
By Ej on 09/04/2020
I purchased this product primarily as a post-emergent for crabgrass. It covers a huge variety of unwanted culprits in the lawn. It appears to be the best product available for the current issues. Do My Own has superior customer care employees. I'm highly impressed and very satisfied.

Miracle weed killer
By Mark on 06/15/2022
Sulfentrazone 4SC will kill nearly ANY cool or warm season weed you will find in the South including hard to kill varieties such as crabgrass, poa annua, barnyardgrass, sandbur, spurge, foxtail and numerous others. Bermuda lawns in particular will suffer only minimal injury if any. So glad I tried this and will use it religiously going forward. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Love this Stuff
By Thom on 01/30/2023
I like boom! bam! impact chemicals. This is a new favorite. Used it last fall to huge success with eliminating a major spurge outbreak shortly after seeding my bermuda lawn. It discolored the bermuda and thinned out the newly seeded grass by about 25%. Painful but effective, like many good things. Grass after mowing was back to perfect in 2 weeks. Six months later, still not a single bit of spurge. This early spring I sprayed bermuda (never completely dormant, in So Cal). This stuff shows visible results in 24 hours, impressive results in 3 days and full death soon after depending on the weed species. Effectively smoking my Poa, Dandelion, Cat's Ear, Thistle, Burweed, and a few other broadleafs in my lawn. I only have maybe 7 varieties of weed and 50 little offenders total. I expect tip burn or browning, but do not care for it is dormant season anyway. I am weed free. Followed label directions precisely and also important: NO SURFACTANT. This is a root absorption killer. Surfactant will only cause burn to everything it touches and does not improve results. Has a nice pre-emergent effect as well.

Save your money if you are in Southern California
By Bruce on 09/28/2020
At the rate discussed in the Q&A and Reviews this product did nothing except tip burn my tall fescue. On both the smooth and hairy crabgrass nothing even at spots where I double sprayed for a test. CA must have very resistant weeds. Two other products in this class also did nothing. On the nutsedge and kylinga also mostly nothing except for a slight wilt from which they quickly recovered. I am happy this product worked for the rest of you just not for me. Hazardous waste collection event needed.

Kills kylinga in centipede - Florida
By Zach on 05/18/2023
Yes this stuff is expensive but if you are battling kylinga then it's worth it. Kylinga is by far the fastest spreader I have encountered in my NW Florida centipede lawn. Two applications of this sulfentrazone knocked it out for the entire summer and fall. This will DEFINITELY cause browning in your grass for about a week then the grass will start greening again while kylinga will remain brown and continue to decay. I was very scared that I destroyed my yard but it came back as healthy as ever

Worked well on goosegrass in Bermuda
By E. on 08/09/2023
Mixed one gallon with dye to spot treat a lawn. Treated day after a mowing. just soaked each spot a bit and dye helped confirm spots covered. Dye faded after 1-2 days. 3 days later spots yellowed a lot. After last mowing still more spots to treat however first treatment was successful. Also provided a light fertilizer treatment to the lawn to encourage additional base grass growth.
Worked great on Nut Sedge

I am impressed
By Paul on 10/16/2023
I applied Sulfentrazone as part of my final weed cocktail this season. My cocktail included a small dose of Biomin Boron as my soil test said I was low on Boron, I also included TRIAD Select and a low dose of Sunniland 28-0-0 fertilizer. It did cause whitening of the tip of my grasses but all the poa annua, goose grass and even the rest of the crab grass are finally been smoked. I am not worried about the whitening of some of the grass because I know it will grow out, but I just can't stand the poa annua. Its like I am wasting money. I know I have to be patient.
