Surflan XL 2G would be a good pre-emergent to use in the area you’ve described. Make sure you water it in very well, as the decomposed granite will be a barrier between the product and the soil. Also, keep in mind that if there is lots of shifting of the decomposed granite, it will break down the pre-emergent barrier quicker. People and pets should remain out of the treated areas until the product has dried completely.
The reseed/overseed time frame will depend on the rate used when applying Surflan XL 2G. It is recommended that you wait at least 6 weeks after applying the product at the 100 lb per acre rate. If you used the rate of 150 lbs per acre, you will need to wait at least 12-16 weeks to reseed/overseed.
