Surflan XL 2G herbicide is a pre-emergent that controls or suppresses 35 different broad-leaf weeds and 21 different annual grasses and is labeled to be used on more than 250 different shrubs, trees, bulbs, perrenials, and turf. The active ingredients oryzalin (Surflan) and benefin (Balan) combine to give you superior pre-emergent control. Use Surflan XL 2G herbicide on labeled use sites before the weeds begin to germinate or immediatelf following cultivation for best results.

Surflan XL 2G herbicide is a pre-emergence herbicide for control of certain annual grasses and broad-leaf weeds in container and landscape ornamentals, nursery stock, ground covers, established tall fescue and warm-season turf, established flowers, ornamental bulbs, non-bearing fruit and nut trees and non-bearing vineyards, non-bearing berries, Christmas tree plantations, non-cropland and established tall fescue and warm-season turf (including bahiagrass, bermudagrass, buffalograss, centipedegrass, St. Augustinegrass, and zoysiagrass). Apply Surflan XL 2G prior to germination of target weeds or immediately after cultivation. Length of weed control will vary with rate of Surflan XL 2G applied, weed population, potting media or soil conditions, temperature, watering regime, and other factors.
Apply Surflan XL 2G using a drop or rotary-type spreader designed to apply granular herbicides or insecticides. Calibrate application equipment prior to use according to manufacturer’s directions. Check frequently to be sure equipment is working properly and distributing granules uniformly. Do not use spreaders that apply material in narrow concentrated bands. Avoid skips or overlaps as poor weed control or crop injury may occur. More uniform application may be achieved by spreading half of the required amount of product over the area and then applying the remaining half in swaths at right angles to the first.

I bought this product because Setre XL 2G was out of stock. There is no comparison between the two product. When I used Setre in early Spring, I had very little weeds. After using Surflan this year, weeds have been popping up like crazy. I will stick with Setre.

Amazing!

Not only was this pre-emergent cheaper than it was at the local nursery ($89.95 vs. $99), I was totally amazed that 4 bags (200 lbs. total) were ordered on Wednesday and delivered on Saturday! We have used Surflan XL 2G for 3 years now and the results have been amazing. Highly recommend DoMyOwn because of their pricing and super-fast delivery!

Good product...

Surflan is a sure fire pre emergent for weeds in the Northeast. I have used it in the past with great sucess, this year I did not use it, and the weeds are back full force. I wont make that mistake again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for northeast crabgrass.

Pre emergent weed control

I am wanting some weed control in my Bermuda grass lawn. However, in reading the label of Surflan XL 2G, I am not sure if the product will harm my Bermuda grass lawn. I am probably missing something but have used a product before that killed all my grass and I don't want that to happen again. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Surflan XL 2G is a granule that should applied with a spreader and then watered in with rainfall or irrigation with 0.5 inches of water within 21 days of application.

Surflan XL 2G depending on what you are applying to can be applied in intervals of 2-4 months apart. Be sure to refer to the product label for the correct interval.
