  • Asked by L. from Philadelphia, Pa
    05/30/2015
    Q
Are you sure Suspend SC is safe to use if you have cats?
I read that cats cannot process pyrethrins. While Suspend SC is supposed to be applied to crevices, the carpet still gets damp where it meets the wall and sometimes you'll get a puddle under the stove or fridge where you have to wipe up the excess. Have any long term studies been done around pets?
    A
Suspend SC is labeled to be safe for pets if they are not in the area during the application and while the surfaces are still wet. Once they are completely dry, they can return to the area that you have applied the product. The product will not reactivate if it gets wet again. Please contact Bayer for information on the studies that they have performed for long term safety. They can be reached at (800) 331-2867.

  • Asked by Lilly from Phila Pa
    07/31/2013
    Q
Does the Suspend SC work for bed bugs and how good it is?
    A
Suspend SC does treat bed bugs. Now, however, research shows that some strains of bed bugs are resisitant to it. We recommend using Temprid SC, because it will treat pyrethroid resistantbed bugs and using double killing power of two different active ingredients. Temprid SC also has a very broad application label.

    Q
    Does Suspend SC kill fleas?
Have bad interior infestation of fleas
    A

Suspend SC is great at killing most insects, including fleas, but it is not labeled to apply all over floor coverings which is normally what is required for treating fleas.  We do have an  Indoor Flea and Tick Kit  which can also be used indoors.  This is our most popular flea control product.  In addition to applying this indoors if there is an issue, you should have your pets treated.

  • Asked by Paul from Westborough, Ma.
    04/06/2014
    Q
I have sprayed with Suspend SC but still active with small ants (slowed down, but still there). They look like tiny black ants and move very fast. I think they came in with mail.
    A
Suspend SC is a great general pest control concentrate. However, the ants will have to contact the treated areas in order to be eradicated. For small black ants outside, I would recommend applying Termidor SC (1ft up and 1ft out) directly around the exterior foundation. I would also apply InVict Xpress Granules to areas that have activity in the lawn.

  • Asked by Kyle
    09/27/2010
    Q
Where should I spray Suspend SC for stinkbug control?
Should I spray the Suspend SC inside as well as outside the screened porch, deck and onto the lawn to get rid of this infestation of the stink bugs? Do I have to reapply in the spring as well?
    A
Apply Suspend SC outdoors on all door frames, window frames, areas where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure, a band of soil 6 to 10 feet adjacent to the structure, also to a height of 2 to 3 feet on the foundation where pests may be active or may find entrance. As the stink bugs crawl over the treated area, they will receive a lethal does of the insecticide and usually die within a few hours. You should treat every month starting in August and ending in November for best results. Stinkbugs are usually not a problem for most people until fall when they start looking for a nice warm place to spend the winter.

  • Asked by Max from Ca
    12/03/2015
    Q
Would Suspend SC be a good way to treat the furniture, bed, carpet, and hard surfaces for any of the scabies and their eggs?
I let a friend stay at my place after he put on cream to treat his scabies. It has been about three weeks and I think he left some of his creepy critters here.
    A

No, Suspend SC is a crack and crevice treatment only and is not labeled for scabies. Scabies mites live on/in the skin and we do not carry anything to treat humans. Most folks need to visit their doctor to receive the medication needed to get rid of scabies. You may spray your furniture with a product such as Steri-fab to kill anything on furniture, though treating the home is usually not necessary.

    Q
    New Home Pest Treatment
I have purchased a new home and would like to do the pest treatment in and around the home myself. Could you please show me how to go about it. Products I need. How often to do what.
    A
Suspend SC is a very good product. It is a general pesticide that is labeled to treat various pests, including ants, roaches, spiders, etc. Suspend SC can be used indoors and outdoors. The residual is about 3 months indoors and 1 month outdoors. You will spray around the baseboards and cracks and crevices indoors. Outdoors, you can spray around the perimeter of your home.

  • Asked by Milena
    07/27/2010
    Q
Do I need to use a respirator when applying Suspend SC?
Hi, I purchased this product, but I am concerned. Besides covering my skin (as much as possible), do I also need to use a respirator. Instructions say "avoid breathing vapor or spray mist". It does not sound like a dust mask will suffice. Any thoughts?
    A
In most cases, a respirator would not be needed. Typically, you would spray the Suspend SC either outdoors or indoors in ventilated areas. If you need to treat in confined, unventilated areas however a respirator would be needed. We sell the Comfo Classic Respirator on our website if you need to purchase one.

  • Asked by Bruce from Nevada City, Ca
    10/30/2013
    Q
Can I use Suspend SC on a Yellow Jacket nest?
    A
While Suspend SC is labeled for yellow jacket control, it is not what we would recommend for a nest treatment. You would either want to use Tempo 1% Dust to puff onto/in the nest and allow it to transfer through all the cavities they have built and eliminate them without much risk to you of getting stung. Or you could use a product like Wasp X which is a foaming aerosol product that you can spray the nest with from 15 feet away that will consume the entire nest and foam up around it to suck the yellow jackets in. Tempo is preferred if it is a ground nest and you would apply the dust with a hand duster.

  • Asked by Tim
    06/06/2011
    Q
Can Suspend SC be used on dogs for flea & ticks?
If yes what rate/gal? If no, what is the best product for use on dogs for fleas & ticks?
    A
Suspend SC cannot be used on any animals. Permethrin SFR is a concentrate that can be used on dogs (do not use on cats) for flea and tick control. According to the Permethrin SFR product label you will mix ¼ fl. oz. of concentrate to 1 pt. water and use 1-2 fl. oz. of dilution to spray on each animal. Spot treat back, face, legs tail and ears. If you would like to "dip" the dogs you will use ¼ fl. oz. to 1¼ gallons water and thoroughly wet the dog to the skin with sponge or rag. Let drip dry. We also have a ready to use product called Petcor Flea/Tick spray which requires no measuring or mixing.

  • Asked by Fred from Pa

    Q
I ordered Precor and Suspend for a bad flea infestation, how would you treat? We have kids
I was thinking wetting all floors down and all baseboards, cat bedding, etc. with Suspend SC and Precor IGR. Do I combine the two and wet all floors? What are your thoughts? We are in the process of sanding wood floors so staining isn't an issue. I know the cracks are filled with eggs
    A
Suspend SC and Precor IGR can be mixed together in the same sprayer so you do not have to treat twice. You will need to vacuum all areas prior to treatment. This includes all the carpet, upholstered furniture, baseboards and other indoor areas that are frequented by pets. Discard the bag when done. Pet bedding should be clean and replaced. You will spray Suspend SC and Precor IGR in areas where the fleas have been found. You will vaccum daily for 14 days and do a second treatment with Suspend SC. It is possible that another treatment will need to be done after the two initial treatments so you will use the Precor IGR if a third treatment is needed.
