    Q
Has anyone used Suspend SC to control stinkbugs?
These pests are a big problem in Pennsylvania and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Also, spreading to Maryland and the D.C. area.
    A

Suspend SC is a very popular product for stink bugs and widely used by our customers.  The key to stink bug control is to treat in the fall when the stink bugs normally look for entry into a home.  Even more important is to make sure there are no cracks around windows or under doors.  You should seal all cracks and holes with caulk or other suitable material to prevent entry from stink bugs and other pests during the fall and winter.

    Q
I have small children and want to use Suspend SC for spider control in my home. Is it safe?
    A
Yes, Suspend SC and all of our products are safe as long as you follow the instructions on the product label. When mixed with water, these products are only strong enough to kill small insects. You should keep all children and pets out of the room while you are treating. Use common sense when applying, you obviously do not want to spray on any toys or around pets food and water bowls. Wait 30 minutes for product to dry, then it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the room.

    Q
Can I spray Suspend SC on anything inside the house?
I'm trying to get rid of what I am assuming to be bed bugs, but may be some other type of small insect that is biting at night. I am assuming and hoping that this product can get rid of whatever it is. Can I spray Suspend SC on anything inside the house? Where and on what can I spray this product?
    A
Suspend SC can applied to mattresses, especially tufts, folds, and edges until moist. You should also apply to the interior of the frame. Allow to dry before remaking bed.  Also, you would want to treat around the perimeter of the room, baseboards, feet of the bed, etc.  You may want to try one of our Bed Bug Kits which have a variety of products which are proven to treat bed bugs.

    Q
    Does Suspend SC kill termites?
    A
Suspend SC will kill a termite if you physically spray the Suspend SC onto a termite.  However, it is not considered a termite treatment product.  Termites eat wood from the inside out, so they are not out in the open to treat.  Also, termites do not crawl on top of the ground like other insects, they enter the home from under the ground.  So just by spraying around your home on top of the ground and on your home, will not protect it against termites.  For proper termite protection, we recommend doing a termite treatment with Dominion 2L.  You should also read our "How to Do a Termite Treatment" article.

    Q
If any of the Suspend SC were to get on the apple tree, would it damage the tree or the fruit?
I have carpenter bees boring into my fence. There is also an apple tree in the immediate vicinity. If any of the Suspend SC were to get on the apple tree, would it damage the tree or the fruit? Thanks.
    A
Suspend SC will not damage the tree or the apples.  However, if you are going to harvest the apples you should wash them just to be safe before consuming. It would be best to not spray on a windy day where there would be a possibility of getting the Suspend SC on the apples.

    Q
Is Suspend SC safe to use on baseboards? We have a crawling toddler.
    A
Suspend SC is one of the safest and most effective products we sell, which is why it is so popular.  You should always have children and pets vacate the room while you are applying the product.  Once the product is dry, which usually takes about 30-45 minutes, it is fine to allow children and pets back in the room.  These products are only strong enough to kill tiny insects.

    Q
Does Suspend SC work for tent caterpillars? They are horrible in our area.
    A
Yes. Suspend SC is labeled for Tent Caterpillars. Directly spray the plant foliage and nest. The larvae are usually easy to contact if spraying is done in late morning when the larvae congregate on the tent surface to warm in the sun. Mechanical control is also helpful with this pest. The egg masses are easy to spot after the leaves have dropped in the fall. Simply clip off and crush or drop into a bucket of soapy water.

    Q
How long can Suspend SC be stored for after mixing?
After mixing Suspend SC, can the unused portion in the sprayer be stored for a period of time?
    A
Most sprayer manufacturers warn against storing insecticides inside the sprayer. Storing liquids (even plain water) inside the sprayer can cause the rubber components to deteriorate quickly and make the sprayer inoperable. Only mix exactly what you can use and discard any left over solution and thoroughly rinse the sprayer after each use.

    Q
We have springtails and silverfish and have used suspend SC. Is there anything stronger?
We used to use diazinon granules and they worked. Can we purchase it anywhere?
    A
Unfortunately, Diazinon was banned by the EPA years ago and is no lonnger available or manufactured.  Suspend SC is one of our best sellers and is considered one of the best there is.  Springtails are very tricky to treat though.  Springtails breed from moisture areas around the house, and unless you find the source of the problem it does not matter how much you spray, they will still reproduce and continue to be a problem.  Please read our How To Get Rid of Springtails article from our website for some ideas and suggestions.

    Q
Will Suspend SC by Bayer kill grass hoppers?
    if not what will?
    A
Yes Suspend SC will kill grasshoppers. The Suspend SC product label states that you should use 0.4 to 0.6 fl oz/1000 sq. ft  for outdoor control in your lawn (The amount of water you use it mainly up to you, but you should use at least 2 gallons per 1,000 sq ft). Indoors you should .50 - .75 ounce per gallon of water. Spray under appliances, under furniture, in cracks and crevices around baseboards, door frames and window frames and around areas where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure.

    Q
Can Suspend SC be used to treat bagworms with a garden hose type sprayer?
If this is not recommended, can Talstar One be used as a substitute for the same type application?
    A
Yes. Suspend SC can be used in a hose end sprayer to treat for bagworms as long as you can properly calibrate the hose end sprayer to apply the correct amount of product per gallon of water. The Suspend SC product label recommends 8 oz of product per 100 gallons of water. Applications should start in April and continue monthly through June for bagworm control. (treatments should start around the time when the larva move out of the mother's bag and before they make their own bags) Be sure foliage is sprayed thoroughly to the point of runoff to achieve adequate coverage. While both Suspend SC and Talstar P can be used for bagworm control, Talstar is the most recommended for bagworm control because it is known to be super gentle on most plants, trees and bushes. Talstar may also be easier to measure for this use, .25 ounce per 1,000 sq ft.

Suspend SC should be applied directly into cracks, crevices, wall voids and small spot treatments. When applied as specified on the product label, cleaning your floors would have no effect on the product.

Does Suspend SC work for bed bugs?
    A
Suspend SC used to be the go to product for bed bug control. However, there have been signs that some strains of bed begs have become resistant to it since it has been used so much.  Still, bed bug control has much better success if you use a variety of products.
