    Q
How often do you spray for roaches, once a week or more?
    A
To treat for roaches we recommend spraying once every 21 days with suspend and also using a roach bait like Maxforce FC magnum. Apply the bait once a week. You want to bait high and spray low. Bait around counter tops, appliances, cabinets, bathrooms, etc. Please view our article on roach treatment.

    Q
Will Suspend SC also kill termites?
    A
You can use Suspend for localized control of an active infestation. Suspend should not be used to control future infestations. For this purpose we recommend Termidor SC. Here is a great article that explains how to put down a liquid barrier treatment: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/how-to-perform-termite-treatment-a-87.html

    Q
Are Gentrol and Suspend SC the proper treatment to kill bed bugs?
if so what is the mixture ratio? Help!!
    A

We do not usually recommend Suspend for bedbug treatments because of the risk of resistance. Please take a look at our bedbug kits to see the products we recommend for bedbug treatments: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/bed-bug-kits-c-39_97.html

You will notice that there are several product formulations in each kit and this is to guard against resistance issues.

    Q
I used Suspend SC in my new home 3-weeks ago. I have wiped down the house 3-times before I bring the kids & dog
home I clean with just water to make sure that the little balls want be on the kids or pets how mant times should I clean with water to make sure that what flowed is not still suspended in the home
    A
When using Suspend SC as directed on the product label you would apply only to cracks, crevices, voids and other inaccessible areas. If you followed the product label it is not necessary to wipe down anything. The kids and pets simply need to stay out of the area until it has dried and then they can safely return. The only time you would need to wipe anything off would be if you over sprayed onto areas not listed on the product label. If that was the case you would need to wash the area down with soap and water to remove any insecticide.

  • Asked by Steve from Athelstane, Wi

    Q
Is springtime a good time to begin spraying around our cabin for fall and winter indoor fly problems?
We've had a bad winter with cluster flies and want to improve our chances for next fall. Do we spray perimeter only or also indoors? Thanks.
    A
You can go ahead and spray the exterior now to help stop the population from building but the actual exclusion sprays are recommended to start in August. Most of the exclusion applications are applied on the exterior of the structure though spraying inside and outside of window frames, door frames, and places where cables, pipes and wires enter in to the structure will double your chance of controlling the flies before they gather indoors.

    Q
How does Suspend SC compare to Talstar P?
    A
Both the Suspend SC and the Talstar P contain synthetic pyrethroids for active ingredients and will provide very similar results. The only advantage to using Talstar P over Suspend SC is that it is known to be super gentle on most plants (do not use on edible vegetation) and is virtually odorless while Suspend Sc does have a slight odor. Both products can be used indoors and outdoors and both products are safe to use in houses with children and pets.

    Q
Can we spray Suspend SC on our lawn as preventive care?
Can we spray Suspend SC on our lawn as preventive care to any kind of pests this product could take care off. If yes, what should be the mixing ratio.
    A

Suspend SC can be used as a broadcast spray on lawns and on ornamental plants to protect these areas from lawn/ornamental plant infesting insects and it can be used as a perimeter barrier spray to stop pests from getting into your home. Each of these applications and application rates are very different. Can you tell us specifically what type of application you are trying to complete so we can better advise you?

    Q
How much of Suspend and Gentrol do I mix together to get best results for bedbugs?
I read that you can mix gentrol with a gallon of water per ounce or a gallon of pesticide. But a gallon of suspend is like 300 bucks. What do i do? I need to get rid of these suckers but they drained my bank account already.
    A
You will mix 1 fl oz of Suspend and 1 fl oz of Gentrol together in 1 gallon of water for bedbug applications. Suspend and Gentrol are both concentrates.

  • Asked by Gram

    Q
Can linens and clothing be washed in Suspend SC?
    A
Suspend SC cannot be used as a washing additive. Any insect or insect egg on bedding or clothing will be killed in the normal washing/drying cycles and insecticides do not need to be added to the wash for this to happen. Adding insecticides in this way can be very dangerous for anyone using the items.

  • Asked by Christina from Del Rio Tx

    Q
Does Suspend SC work well in killing scorpions?
    A
Suspend is a good product for scorpions, however there are products that will yield faster results.

Our most popular product for Arizona residents is definitely our Demon WP.  Suspend SC and many other products are also good, but not as strong as Demon.  Since Demon WP is a powder that is mixed with water, it is easier for scorpions to pick up on their body and faster acting.  Demon WP packs a punch which is what you need for the Arizona scorpions, spiders, and other insects.  It is very effective, yet very safe around children and pets at the same time.  It is a general use product that is labeled for all insects and is a great all around use product.  You should re-apply the product every 30 to 60 days for best results.

    Q
Does Suspend SC kill wasps instantly and how does the residual work and for how long?
How often should it be applied as a house perimiter? When can results be expected for wasp elimination?
    A
Suspend SC does not provide an instant knockdown. Suspend SC will kill wasps and other insects over a period of several hours after they contact treated areas. Suspend SC will leave a residual that will last up to 4 weeks outdoors and up to 12 weeks indoors. If you can directly treat a wasp nest you can expect the colony to be eliminated within several days. If you cannot directly treat the nest you will only be able to eliminate those wasps that are landing on the treated areas and you may not be able to gain 100% control. If you are indeed treating outdoors and within 2 feet of your home you may want to consider using Termidor SC. Termidor SC is a bit different than Suspend SC in that it can be transferred back to the wasps nest and through their normal social interactions they will spread the product through the nest. This product can take a week or two to eliminate the nest and it does not offer an instant knockdown. If you prefer an instant knockdown we do carry Wasp Freeze and Wasp X.

    Q
Suspend SC & Gentrol mixed in sprayer...how do I dispose of excess.
There were no directions. What is the safest way to dispose of excess and can I wash the sprayer out in the sink.
    A
Leftover product can be poured out right up against the foundation of your home or structure. You should clean the sprayer outside and dump the rinse water in the same place you poured out the excess product. Product and rinse water cannot be poured down the drain.

  • Asked by Derek from Savannah, Ga
    06/25/2012
    Q
What's the difference between tempo sc ultra and suspend sc?
    A
Tempo SC Ultra is formulated using the active ingredient beta-Cyfluthrin and Suspend SC is formulated using the active ingredient Deltamethrin. Both active ingredients are from the same class of insecticides known as synthetic pyrethroids and because of this both products are labeled for many of the same insects. Suspend SC does have a much broader product label and is allowed to be used in more places for more insects than the Tempo SC Ultra. Tempo SC Ultra on the other hand is known to have a bit of a faster knockdown and less chance of resistance because it has not been as widely used. Please take a moment to read over the Suspend SC product label and the Tempo SC Ultra product label to see which product would best fit your needs.

  • Asked by Larry from Cottage Grove, Mn
    06/25/2012
    Q
Will Suspend SC kill or deter Japanese Beetles on rose bushes? If so how often should it be applied?
    A
According to the Suspend SC product label this product is labeled for Japanese beetles and will provide anti-feedant properties on treated ornamentals against Japanese beetles. We do recommend testing any pesticide you choose to use on one plant before treating all of the plants to check for damage. You do want to try to spray the leafy parts of plants while avoiding the blooms as much as possible. Applications should be repeated every 21 days to maintain control.
