    Q
After applying suspend sc for fleas indoor, when do you know it's safe to return?
I know it's safe once it has dry. But when it drys how can u tell it's very sure that we won't get bitten by fleas? Does suspend sc kill in contact or do I have to keep treating it in order to fully work?
    A
Suspend SC is safe for pets and people once dry, you are correct. Flea infestations are never an overnight fix. Though each flea infestation is different - they all will require at least two treatments to start to see true results. You will want to do a follow-up treatment two weeks after your first treatment. If your infestation is more severe, you may even have to do a third treatment two weeks after that. Be persistant and patient. Vacuum frequently and always empty your vacuum each time outside of your home. For more tips please read and watch the How To Get Rid Of Fleas In Your House video on the bottom of this page.

kill anything living in vacant apartment building
what could i use to kill anything and everything living or nesting in a 30 unit apartment building that is vacant at the moment. and also protect for a long period of time alot of roaches, and flees seen so far but again want to kill everything
    A
A great product to use for general insect control would be Suspend SC. If you have a lot of fleas, you will also want to look into the products in our Indoor Flea Kit. For fleas, you will need to do a treatment two weeks after your initial treatment. Also, vacuuming frequently will help get rid of a lot of bugs.

    Q
We need a product that can be used for bees ,mites ,fleas and ants inside on furn plus wall voids
We are having a horrible year for bugs here in north idaho .We started off with ants which progressed to bald faced hornets then yellow jackets and then fleas !! Two days after we noticed the fleas I started getting some kind of micro bug that was crawling on my face and ess any hairy areas . I couldn't see them and only occasionally had a bite from them .I thought it was the fleas at first but after doing some research (this was my first experience with fleas in fourty some years ) I found that they dont stay on humans like that .So after much research and proccess of elimination we came to the conclusion it is mites .So to make a long story short .We have a bee nest in the walls ,bald faced hornet nest under the eves of the car port and ant nest in the walls and god knows what else and the mites and a few fleas in the house . I am a VERY clean person and have been cleaning for 2 months straight and am now at the point where I feel these bugs every now and then but nothing like what it was . Our dog has now suffered an allergic reaction to these mites but the vet could not see a flea or mite on her .I did however see some tannish red very tiny mites in her ear at one point .We also find black things all over the floor on and off .They dont move and seem awfully big to belong to the mite that is microscopic .Can you recommend a product or product's that we can use not only in wall voids but in our whole home (furniture ,walls, cracks ,crevices ) ? We found some kind of nest in the box spring of our bed .Which we removed and steam cleaned the bed and covered with pest rated mattress encasements .We also have a history of having mice and squirrels getting in by our water tank and coming into the wall voids .We blocked as many entrances as we could find and put out decon .But we need a whole house treatment .As economically as possible .This is a rental and we are on fixed incomes and my husband has very serious health problems .So we cant afford a lot and the landlord is no help .If you could recommend the best all purpose (safe as possible) solutions I would be so grateful
    A

It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with a rat or bird mite. Have the suspected mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. If you do indeed have mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a rat/bird nest or a dead rat/bird on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or carcasses and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Since there has not been much research on controlling rodent/bird mites this program is only a suggestion and may not work for every situation. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good. Onslaught and Mother Earth are very broadly labeled and can be used to eliminate most common pest insects.

    Q
Is it ok to mix Suspend SC & other sprays with city water? Will the chlorine affect the effectiveness?
We have a lot of chlorine in our city water and wondering should I buy purified water?
    A
Most pest control operators use city water to mix their pesticides with and have no problems with decreased effectiveness. Purchasing purified water would not be necessary.

    Q
Can I use Suspend SC on a Yellow Jacket nest?
    A
While Suspend SC is labeled for yellow jacket control, it is not what we would recommend for a nest treatment. You would either want to use Tempo 1% Dust to puff onto/in the nest and allow it to transfer through all the cavities they have built and eliminate them without much risk to you of getting stung. Or you could use a product like Wasp X which is a foaming aerosol product that you can spray the nest with from 15 feet away that will consume the entire nest and foam up around it to suck the yellow jackets in. Tempo is preferred if it is a ground nest and you would apply the dust with a hand duster.

    Q
How to treat for termites in Arizona.
Also, I have only noticed a few termite mud trails on my foundation outside. I want to nip the problem as soon as possible. I have read that termites can come from mulch or wood chip areas. Is this true? What is a good, general indoor/outdoor pesticide that I can use to kill other bugs?? Bifenthrin, deltamethrin, or permethrin? I currently use the store bought Ortho home defense, which I believe has Bifenthrin as the active ingredient. This has worked ok but I want to start using professional strength and mixing myself. Which is best?
    A
For general insect control outdoors you can use Suspend SC. This contains deltamethrin and is a professional grade strength. If you would like to continue using bifenthrin - consider Talstar P which contains 7.9 % bifenthrin.

    Q
For how long is Suspend SC potent?
The apartment where we moved in has been exterminated 1 year ago. We just found out about it and we have a 10 month old baby, who crawls all around, so we are worried if there is a chance of her getting harmed. I have washed all the walls and floors in the apartment, but there is still some odor around some cracks and the apartment also has the same odor, which I feel when I enter from the outside. I am also worried that when I washed the walls, water got in the cracks and made Suspend SC more potent.
    A
Suspend SC does not a have a year long residual. If the treated areas were washed, it does not create the product to reactivate. Suspend SC is safe if applied and dried prior to children and pets entering the areas that you have recently treated. Please refer to the product label and MSDS for additional information.

  • Asked by K. from Az

    Q
Can I use Suspend SC for food storage areas? The food will be in boxes and containers. A home pantry area.
    A
Suspend SC can be applied as a crack and crevice application in a food handling area. All food must be packaged/covered or removed during treatment. If you are treating for a pantry pest, we recommend that locate all the infested items and get rid of them. Insecticides only will only kill the adults that are running around but usually the damaging larva remain in the food containers and are protected from insecticides.

    Q
Can you spray Suspend SC on electrical circuits?
    A
Spraying Suspend or any liquid in electrical wiring of any sort is not recommended. This would be an extreme shock hazard and damage your equipment and wiring. We recommend applying dust in those areas. Depending on what you are treating for you could use a dust like Delta Dust.
