    I sprayed talstar it almost dried then it rained
    It has been almost 16 hours since application and 8 hours since the rain and more rain in forecast is safe to return my pet to the area
    A
    As long as the area is dried after Talstar application, it is safe for pets to re-enter. Rain will not "reactivate" the product.

    If I had 5-10 gallons left over in my mixture tank, how long would it be before it goes bad? Thanks!

    Once Talstar P is mixed with water it should be used within 24 hours.  Be sure to agitate the solution before using if it sits for a few hours.

    How to eliminate mole crickets in a California lawn?

    We would recommend using Talstar P.  You would us 1 fl oz of Talstar P per gallon of water. Use 2 gallons of solution/1000 square feet, immediate irrigation of treated area with at least 0.25 inches of water following application to ensure efficacy of sub-surface pests such as,

    but not limited to, Mole Crickets, is recommended. 

    Mole Cricket adults: Achieving acceptable control of adult mole crickets is difficult because preferred grass areas are subject to continuous invasion during the early spring by this extremely active stage. Applications should be made as late in the day as possible and should be watered in with up to 0.25 inches of water immediately after treatment. If the soil is not moist, then it is important to irrigate before application to bring the mole crickets closer to the soil surface where contact with the insecticide will be maximized. Grass areas that receive pressure from adult mole crickets should be treated at peak egg hatch to ensure optimum control of subsequent nymph populations (see below).


    Mole Cricket nymphs: Grass areas that received intense adult mole cricket pressure in the spring should be treated immediately prior to peak egg hatch. Optimal control is achieved at this time because young nymphs are more susceptible to insecticides and they are located near the soil surface where the insecticide is most concentrated. Control of larger, more damaging, nymphs later in the year may require both higher application rates and more frequent applications to maintain acceptable control. Applications should be made as late in the day as possible and should be watered in with up to 0.25 inches of water immediately after treatment. If the soil is not moist, then it is important to irrigate before application to bring the mole crickets closer to the soil surface where contact with the insecticide will be maximized

    İ have chickens in my back yard, is talstar safe for chickens?

    As long as you keep the chickens out of the area while you treat and until the areas are completely dry they will be safe. It also will not hurt the chickens if they eat any insects that have died from the Talstar.

    What product can I use in my crankout windows to kill and repel wasps from building their nests?
    90% of the windows in our house are used for nesting. When I open the windows (even with screens) grass and other debris come falling in.

    Talstar P would be a great option to kill and repel wasps from building their nest around window frames. Simply mix 1 oz of Talstar with 1 gllon of water and spray on the exterior of window frames.

    what is the best product to spray around the house to stop all kind of bugs getting inside?
    I bought a house recently and my previous owner has a service with terminix for pests and termites and I also see sentricon systems around my house. He pays 400 $ for termites per year and 50 $ for pests and I have continued the service for few months but I decided to stop it as all they does is spray some liquid around the house. Could you recommend the best spray so that spray it myself I live in MA(02067) and my house is crawlspace house that means no basement.

    Talstar P is one of the best general purpose insecticides for indoor and outdoor use. It is labeled for over 75 insects, leaves a 30 day residual outdoors and a 90 day residual indoors.  Mixing at .5- 1.0oz per gallon of water, it is a very easy product to use. 

    Outdoors, Talstar P can be sprayed as a perimeter treatment (3ft up & 3ft out from foundation), around windows, doors, bushes, plants trees, broadcasted over the entire lawn. 

    Indoors, Talstar P is to be applied as a crack and crevice treatment along baseboards, windows, doors, behind appliances, under sinks, toilets, around water pipes.

    Need to control a few large american roaches finding their way into the home
    I believe our problem started about 3 years ago when I discovered a hole in the lid of my septic tank. The tank had become infested with the large brown (i believe american) roaches. Occasionally we would find one in the house. This year my septic tank was pumped and repaired and I don't see anymore roaches in there. But I believe they may still be in the ground around the septic tank and still finding their way into our house. I can't find how they're getting in, but one thought would be to kill the outside colony. Is this possible? What products should I use? Whenever I spray my normal outside insectiside heavily in the area, it seems better for a little while, but not permanently. I do see several holes in the ground about quarter size that makes me think it could be their ground access.

    How to Control American Roaches / Palmetto Bugs

    American Roaches come from the outside of the home, so it is best to spray a liquid insecticide around the outside foundation of the home such as Talstar One or Cynoff WP, rather than using roach baits. Also focus on sealing up cracks around doors and in the foundation so roaches can't get in.

    1. Repair damage to screens, door frames, or exterior siding that may provide entry from outside.
    2. Repair any leaks or excess water floor near the structure and ventilate other moist spaces. American cockroaches are highly attracted to water.
    3. Remove rotting leaves, garbage cans, or compost piles as far from the structure as possible.
    4. Use a residual spray such as Talstar One or Cynoff WP outside around all points of possible entry including windows and door frames, dryer vents, and pipe openings. Use the same residual indoors along baseboards and framed entry points.
    5. For added protection, apply Talstar Granules outside around the base of the house as a perimeter treatment.

    Would Talstar P be effective in killing a small colony of bees? I can't afford professional removal of them.

    Talstar P (Talstar One) is toxic to bees. We have had good success with using Tempo 1% dust to kill small bee colonies.  We like dusting because the dust will get deep into the nest.

    Will Talstar kill bag worms on my leyland cypress trees?
    I have 16 trees about 12 foot ht. How much do I need to spray?

    Talstar P is the #1 recommended product for bagworm control. TalstarP is known to have a very low toxicity for mammals making it safe to use around people and pets. Please visit the Talstar P product page where you can review the product label as well as the MSDS. Talstar P applications should start in April and continue monthly through June for bagworm control. Be sure foliage is sprayed thorughly to the point of runoff to achieve adequate coverage. You will mix 1 oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft once a month.

    What kills sand gnats and what kills Yellow flies or deer flies?

    We would recommend choosing a product that is specifically labeled for gnats or midges such as Talstar P or Onslaught. Both of these products are labeled for biting gnats and midges and can be sprayed over the lawn. Flying insects are hard to control because they do not readily come into contact with the areas where you have sprayed the insecticide, so it important to spray areas where the tiny flies actually land or hang out. These products will also kill yellow flies or deer flies.

    Which insecticide is the most effective for camel crickets specifically?
    Hi, I see that your website offers an array of insecticides. I am targeting camelback crickets specifically (anything else that dies is a plus). How would you rank the insecticides (I plan on doing an indoor and outdoor spray) Demon WP, Bifen IT, and Tempo SC)? Not that price is an issue, but if I am going to to the exterior as well, it wouldn't hurt if the price isn't too hard on the wallet. Thanks in advance.

    With Talstar P the crickets just need to cross over treated areas to get a lethal dose of the insecticide. With the Niban FG they need to be attracted to and then consume the bait. Both products work great and both will do a great job it just breaks down to what is needed for your particular space. Is it okay to apply an insecticide? Can you get to the areas that need to be treated? If so an insecticide like Talstar will work very well.

    Can I use Talstar P where my horses will be grazing for fire ant control?

    Talstar P is NOT labeled for use in pastures containing grazing animals. Extinguish Plus is actually the product of choice in areas where horses may be kept or will be grazing (as long as the horses will not be used for feed or food). Extinguish Plus combines the power of hydramethylnon with an insect growth regulator (IGR) to kill fire ant workers and prevent queens from laying fertile eggs. The result is complete fire ant colony control. Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait is best used in the spring or early fall, or whenever fire ants are active. The ants will feed off Extinguish Plus and spread the bait throughout the entire colony, halting the infestation within weeks. You can use this product on pastureland, however you must remove all grazing livestock for at least 48 hours after application.  Then they can return to the land after 48 hours.

    Difference between Talstar P and Dominion 2L?
    What is the difference between this product and Dominion 2L? How long does it take to kill an insect that comes in contact with this?

    Talstar P is a great general use insecticide that can be used both inside and outside for over 75 different pests.  It only kills the insects that contact a treated surface. Dominion 2L is a non repellent termiticide that can also be used a systemic insecticide for the listed pests.  Dominion will help to eliminate more than just want contacts a treated surface or treated soil, social insects will crawl over the product without detecting it, and spread it to each other by touch and food sharing, eventually eliminating the entire infestation.

    How long it takes the insects to die after they come into contact with a treated area will depend on a number of factors. It will depend on the maturity of the insect and type of insect as well as how long they stayed on the treated area, how long it has been since the area was treated and the concentration that was used to treat the area. Typically it can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a day or so for them to die

    Can you explain how this is a repellant? I am assuming this is inferior to Dominion for Carp ants since there is no transfer and only direct contact?

     Talstar P (Talstar One) uses an active ingredient that has been proven to show repellent tendencies. You would not want to apply over top Dominion.

    Talstar P cannot be used on any type of edible vegetation. Cyonara Lawn Yard and Garden would be labeled to do so and to treat grasshoppers.
