    Can I use Talstar near/around my 1/2 acre fish pond?
    I don't want to have run off harm my bass and bream.

    No, Talstar is not labeled to be used around ponds, lakes or other water sources. We recommend using EcoVia EC that is labeled for use and kills of a wide range of flying and crawling insects.

    EcoVia EC can safely be applied in and around homes, businesses, near and over water such as boat docks and pool areas without harming aquatic life, as well as numerous other areas. Please follow label instructions for your target pest and application.

    Will Talstar P control white flies in my bermudagrass?
    I use talstar in the mixture of 1 ounce per gallon, however this does not control the white flies living in my bermuda grass. I spray no more than once every 4 weeks depending on rainfall.

    According to the Talstar P label to treat Whiteflies you may apply 1oz / gallon of water and repeat as necessary to maintain control. In addition to a foliar spray (Talstar P), using a systemic such as Adonis 2F to control whiteflies prooves to be effective.

    Would Talstar P harm my cat if I mix it at a higher rate than what is recommended on the label?
    A

    Talstar P shoudl be mixed at the rate of 1 oz. per gallon of water.  It is safe for pets when used as directed.  You should always follow the application rates that are listed on the product label.

    Is Talstar P the best spray to use along with a gel bait for roaches?
    A

    While Talstar P is labeled for roaches, it is not generally recommended as there can be resistancy issues within a roach population with a product like this. We would recommend using a product like Temprid SC instead. Temprid SC has two active ingredients in it to combat a roach infestations, and doesn't have the resistancy issues that a product with only one active ingredient might have.  You may want to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing roaches.

    I bought, Archer IGR, Nygard IGR and Talstar P. Can I mix these all together?
    A

    Depending on what you are treating for, you may definitely use the Talstar P and your choice of IGR with it. It is not necessary for you to mix two IGR's with the Talstar P.  Either NyGuard or Archer IGR and Talstar can be mixed into the same gallon of water and sprayed for control of Fleas, Stored Product Pests, listed Roaches (German, Asian, and Brown-banded), Crickets, Litter Beetles, and Flying Insects.

    Talstar P is not labeled for this purpose.  You may want to contact your local cooperative extension office for recommendations on what you should use.

    Is it safe to eat tomatoes that were sprayed with Talstar P?

    Talstar P is not labeled to be applied to anything edible.  We would not recommend eating any tomatoes from a plant that came into contact with it.

    Talstar P is not labeled for use around edible plants, so we do not recommend using it around squash or other vegetables. Since we do not sell Capture, we cannot comment on the use of that product. We do sell many other insecticides that can be used around edible plants, which you can browse on our site here.

    Yes, Talstar P is labeled for moths. The mixing rate is 1 fl oz per gallon of water. This can be used indoors and outdoors around the perimeter of your home. The residual is 30 days outdoors and 90 days indoors.

    Talstar P (Talstar One) will kill Blind mosquitos, but since you listed that you live on a lake, EcoVia would be best.     Are there any issues mixing Talstar in a sprayer that has been used with weed killer before?

    We recommend that you use a separate sprayer for insecticides like Talstar and another one for herbicides in order to prevent possible contamination of either product.

    How does Talstar enter the insect?
    Does it: 1) permeate the insects skin (by walking over it) or 2) must it be ingested by feeding or 3) by cleaning itself after walking over the treated area?
    A

    The active ingredient in Talstar is Bifenthrin, which works by interferring with the nervous system of insects when they eat or touch it after contacting a treated surface.  It works when they groom themselves they will ingest it.

    The sap leaks out of a Japanese plum tree.

    Talstar P (Talstar One) is labeled for treating non-edible trees for twig borers only. We recommend that you have a proper id of the insect through your local cooperative extension office to determine the species you will be targeting for a specific product recommendation.

    What is the recommended ratio of Talstar P to Pivot 10 IGR Concentrate?

    The dilution rate is determined on the targeted pest when applying Talstar and Pivot 10. We recommend that you apply 0.5-1 fl oz per gallon of the Talstar P and 4-12 ml of Pivot 10 IGR per 1,000 sq ft.

    Can I mix Talstar P with TZone (weed killer) to apply at the same time?
    A

    Most insecticides and herbicides are able to be tank mixed together, just make sure you follow each product label instructions for "tank mixing" instructions. 

    Talstar P is able to be tank mixed according the label but since we do not carry T-Zone Weed Killer, we cannot confirm the tank mix compatability.

    Can I use Talstar P in a hose end applicator to treat gnats or midges?
    We have a serious problem with gnats or midges.
    A

    Talstar P (Talstar One) can be dispersed in a hose end applicator, hand pump or backpack sprayer for gnats/midges in the lawn. It is also great for treating spiders, centipedes, fire ants and many other insects. We recommend applying 1 oz per gallon of water  per 1,000 sq ft as a broadcast and the same rate per mound for drenching for fire ants. NyGuard IGR can be added to the Talstar P and water mix for impeding the reproductive cycle for listed pests.
