    Can Talstar P be applied using a pressure washing system rather than a misting backpack sprayer?
    A
    We recommend using the 1 fl oz of Talstar P per gallon of water ratio for the fastest knockdown and the longest lasting residual. As for using it in the pressure washer, we really cannot give any advice on that type of application as most insecticide (if not all) are not labeled for use in pressure washer.

    A
    The best product will depend on where you are seeing activity. Cy-Kick aerosol is the most popular product for indoor control and Talstar P is the most popular for outdoor control.

    What are the grazing restrictions when using Talstar to treat fire ants in pasture?

     Talstar P Professional Insecticide is not labeled for use in pastures with grazing animals. For fire ant control,  the  best product to use in pastures would be Extinguish Fire Ant Bait. This product has no grazing restrictions for animals and will give you far superior control over the entire colony of fire ants.

    We are looking for a product that will kill fire ants in Florida and still be horse friendly we have about 7
    acres to be treated how much do i need?

    Extinguish Plus is actually the product of choice in areas where horses may be kept or will be grazing (as long as the horses will not be used for feed or food). Extinguish Plus combines the power of hydramethylnon with an insect growth regulator (IGR) to kill fire ant workers and prevent queens from laying fertile eggs. The result is complete fire ant colony control. Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait is best used in the spring or early fall, or whenever fire ants are active. The ants will feed off Extinguish Plus and spread the bait throughout the entire colony, halting the infestation within weeks. You will need about 2 lbs per acre and you can purchase it in a 25 lb bag. Talstar cannot be used on areas where animlas will graze.

    Can I mix Talstar with essentria ic3?

    Both Talstar and Essentria IC3 are residual sprays. We do not see why you would need to mix them together. Depending on what you are treating, you can mix in an insect growth regulator with either talstar or Essentria.

    Can Talstar P be used for crawling insects in the house?
    Need to spray around the baseboards in the house and outside. Live in Las Vegas, NV area. Looking at Talstar P. Any recommendations? Thanks

    Can Talstar be sprayed on outdoor patio chairs?

    For outdoor treatments you can use Talstar P. You can spray your front and back yard but you cannot spray your patio furniture. Patio furniture should be washed with soap and water and allowed to dry in the sun.

    What is the best method to use Talstar to control mosquitos and midges and should I use an IGR?
    A

    Talstar P Professional Insecticide should be applied at a rate of 1 oz per gallon of water. It can be reapplied outdoors every 30 days. We do suggest mixing Talstar with an IGR  to disrupt the life cycle of the insects by keeping the juveniles from growing into adults.

    Would Talstar P be effective in killing a small colony of bees? I can't afford professional removal of them.

    Talstar P (Talstar One) is toxic to bees. We have had good success with using Tempo 1% dust to kill small bee colonies.  We like dusting because the dust will get deep into the nest.

    Do I have to wait until mosquitoes are present to spray Talstar?
    A

    Talstar P (Talstar One) can be applied once monthly to the exterior of the structure and on foliage for mosquio control. If you treat the areas that the mosquitoes harbor, you will have great success. They do not have to be present for eradication.     Can you apply Talstar with high pressure sodium grow lights on?
    Or like some miticides, should the lights be off? And do you need to mix with purified water or can tap water be good enough? Using for broad mites and spider mites.
    A
    We are not aware of any lighting restrictions that should be followed while applying Talstar P.  This product is not specificially a miticide but more of a general pest control product label to treat specific types of mites.  You could contact the manufacturer directly to confirm any lighting issues, FMC can be reached at 800-321-1362.  There is no special requirements on the type of water you use, tap water will be fine.

    Is Talstar P safe for fruit bearing coconut trees?
    I see that Talstar is not rated for fruit trees and nuts, but the label says nothing on coconut trees.

    According the University of Florida Extension, the active ingredient in Talstar (Bifenthrin) can be used on coconut trees as long as they are non fruit bearing. Please refer to Table 7 for a list of approved insecticdes in the State of Florida. You may also reach out to the Local Cooperative Extension office to speak with them directly on application recommendations.
