    Can you apply Talstar with high pressure sodium grow lights on?
    Or like some miticides, should the lights be off? And do you need to mix with purified water or can tap water be good enough? Using for broad mites and spider mites.

    We are not aware of any lighting restrictions that should be followed while applying Talstar P.  This product is not specificially a miticide but more of a general pest control product label to treat specific types of mites.  You could contact the manufacturer directly to confirm any lighting issues, FMC can be reached at 800-321-1362.  There is no special requirements on the type of water you use, tap water will be fine.

    Although, Talstar is a fantastic product, we cannot make an accurate recommendation, until we know what pest we are dealing with. Please contact Your Cooperative Extension Office and speak with the Entemologist or Master Gardner for a positive I.D.

    When applied as directed Talstar P (Talstar One) is safe for people and pets to be around after the treated area has dried. If you are treating a room that might contain a bird, you want to remove the bird until the treated area has dried.

    Can Talstar P be used on rugs both in a home and vehicle is there a strong odor?
    I live in south Florida next to a canal and we seem to have a huge no see um issue. Although, we have no standing water. We are getting bit by something we cannot see. Continuous use of repellents is not a option.

    Talstar P is odorless but cannot be applied as an indoor broadcast application. It is labeled only as a crack and crevice application per the product label. We recommend that you vacuum daily, use a steamer and apply BioDefense in the home and the vehicle. BioDefense has a lemongrass scent that will eventually dissapate.

    Do you use the same pesticides in the 50-gallon tank as you do for the normal hand sprayer?

    Normally, yes, you would use the same products in both the pump sprayer and 50 gal tank. Be sure to review the product label, as sometimes there are different mixing ratios for 50 gal tank sprayers

    Have Home Pest Defence system where they spray inside walls and supposedly push through with some type of gas
    I would like to know if there is sprayer I can use to treat home using those entrances around my house - don't want to be dependent upon them FOREVER because the house was built with that system

    We do not carry or distribute the in wall systems so we cannot advise what to use.  We do know that most of those systems require a pressurized piece of equipment to properly treat the lines which most homeowners do not have.  We will say that the downside to those systems is that they do not prevent pests from entering your home since the bugs have to come inside the walls to come into contact with anything.  It is a much better approach to treat the exterior of your home with a professional product like Talstar P every 3 months which keep insects out of your home in the first place.  And all you need is a hand pump sprayer, not a specialized piece of equipment.

    Yes, Talstar P (Talstar One) works great on White Footed Ants! Spray the Talstar around window and door frames, any areas where pipes enter the home, and around the foundation 3 feet up and 3-5 feet out on ground.     What is a good General pest control product?
    Looking for a product to help with general pests, spiders, ants, we have scorpions where we live, roaches...
    A
    Talstar P is a great safe product for general pest control both in and around the home. It dries clear, has no odor, is non-staining and non-irritaing and can be used on lawns, bushes, ornamentals, trees and around the foundation of the home, as well as entry points like windows and doors. It will control over 100 different insects and will typically last 30-90 days outdoors and at least 90 indoors along baseboards and cracks and crevices. Its safe for children and pets once dry and is very cost effective.

    Upon spraying the soffit its possible that some dripped into my container plants.
    I use containers on the porch to grow annuals and vegetables (tomatoes/cukes etc). Do I now have to dispose of the soil or can I wait a year (toxicity ends after time?) and just plant ornamentals this year. I dig in that dirt is it harmful to me?

    I am spraying my backyard to kill fleas, and I live in humid region. I am concerned about Talstar drying.
    I have several dogs, and I a want to spray in the evening when they are inside, however I am concerned about the humidity not allowing the spray to dry before morning. I also wanted to know if the morning condesation will be an issue? Is the morning or the afternoon better for a humid climate?

    Talstar P is a water based product that dries just as fast as water alone would dry.  Spraying in the afternoon would be best to allow the product to dry better.  The morning condesation should not be an issue as once Talstar dries it will stay on the surface pretty well.  You would apply once a month keeping pets out of the area.

    I have to repeat use of Talstar after a week.
    A week later was necessary to reapply Talstar. A week Later 1 oz per gallon again because there where mosquitoes in backyard. Arround Wednesday mosquitoes again. Last Monday I used 2 oz per gallon. Not happy with the product.

    We apologize that you feel you are not having success with the Talstar. The Talstar is one of our best products for mosquito control. You must keep in mind that the Talstar is not a contact kill, it is a residual and will take time to control the mosquitoes. It will take several months of spraying once every 30 days only (not every week) to control a population. The product will not put a bubble around your home and stop mosquitoes from flying over from your neighbors yard so if your neighbors are not treating it makes control in your yard harder. When using insecticides to control insects, you are trying to make the yard tolerable but you will never get rid of every last pest for good. If you give the Talstar time to do its job we are certain you will be satisfied like all of our other customers who have used it.     Talstar P should NOT be applied to honey bees. Please provide more information on the treatment that you are planning and the type of insect you will be interested in eradicating so that we can offer additional assistance and a product recommendation. Mavrik Perimeter can be applied and once dry is safe for honey bees. Please refer to the product label for usage instructions.

    Can I use Talstar P on the inside and outside of the home with an IGR for flea control?
    1 acre and 1/2 of land with also treating the inside of the house. I was looking at Talstar P and was going to add an IGR. Any recommendations?
    A
    Talstar P can be applied with an IGR such as Pivot 10 for outdoor flea control. For indoor flea we recommend applying a product such as Alpine Flea Insecticide with IGR because it can be broadcast inside the home and applied to furniture. It is recommended to make at least two applications indoors and outdoors two weeks apart. Each day during the course of the treatment, you will need to vacuum (even the hard surfaces) for the fastest elimination. Please let us know if you have any questions/concerns.

    I am painting the outside of my house, can I mix Talstar with the paint before applying?

    We do not recommend mixing Talstar P with paint for application. It can be applied after the paint has dried. It does not stain and holds up will with rain for surface applications.

    Best method to kill and prevent Mosquitos in residential wooded yard?
    I live in MN and I'm planning to purchase a Solo 451 for applying the chemical. My concern is which product will be more effective. The 2 that I'm considering from your website is Talstar P or permethrin (pyrana). Will one perform better than the other? What are the pros and cons of one over the other? Thank you for your help!

    Talstar P (Talstar One) is highly recommended for Mosquito control. To further control and break down the reproductive cycle you can mix in Nyguard. Nyguard will cause the flying insects to become sterile after contacting it.
