Spreading using the spreader you need to walk fast otherwise it will pile at one place (I set the spreader settings to two). I only had sprinkle system on for 10 minutes, however at some place the ants hole were still there. I had to manually spread the Granular at each hole and water them. After that it worked flawlessly - no ants hole. It seems that if you treat area individually not using the spreader and water properly it works fine (100% results). With spreader (70%) results.

Very good product control lots of bugs I use to use liquid even that product is also good but this is easy to use just spread it out with the spreaders it works good

Easy to spread and works on a wide array of pests. Lasts for a long time, great for quarterly customers. _a href="https://www.rodentguys.com/"_Rodent Guys Pest Control_/a_ uses this product with a spreader but need to be careful around edible plants/trees.

We were getting ready to have a big birthday party for the Grandson and found too many fire ants to take the chance. We used the Talstar Xtra on the recomendation of a friend who is in the pest control business. We spread 50 pounds with the lawn spreader and didn't see one ANT at the party. Great product, Thanks.

I applied the contents of the bag easy enough. Waiting to see if it is as effective as the PL Granules I used last time for mole crickets and ants. The size of these are definitely easier to broadcast.

This is a great product for insect control. It is granular and in very fine particles so is dispensed from spreader evenly and no clumps in the bag. Do My Own has a great price on it and it arrived ahead of the schedule I needed it for and the shipping was free.

Service and product A-1....mole crickets where my problem...and so far 2 weeks after application none have shown their selfs.....pellets were all same size and spreader applied them without any stopage at all...I will be getting another bag for PM application in a few months...

After being diagnosed with Lyme disease a few years ago, I contracted with a pest control company to treat my lawn twice a year. I noticed that Talstar XTRA granules was the product that they used. I determined that it was more cost effective for me to apply this product myself, and found "DoMyOwnPestControl.com" on-line and have since purchased it from them. I apply it three times a year to my lawn and surrounding areas using a broadcast spreader. The original pest control company only used a hand spreader, and I really wondered how thorough they were in applying Talstar. It has worked out wonderfully and I believe that I have solved the tick problem and saved money, as well.

Purchased to control the fleas in my yard. It's only been a few weeks but it seems to be doing the job. I found very few fleas on my on my dog since spreading it on my lawn. My only complaint is that I couldn't find information on what setting to use on my Scott's Turf Builder Edgeguard mini spreader. It appears that a sufficient setting was used based on the flea reduction. Perhaps a higher setting would have eliminated the fleas?

I have used a spreader to get to the areas that were most infested by typical red ants and nothing happened so I reapplied a week later and the ants are still here! The only thing I can think this may have failed is we have been getting rain almost everyday. So disappointed. I was very happy with the other products I've purchased from this company dealing with chinch bugs...completely gone.

First year for using the product. Been fertilizing the lawn the last three years and seeing results. This spring, found an areas in the lawn with ant mounds. This might explain finding ants in the house, but I want them gone. Researched what was best to use, and Talstar XTRA was highly rated. Applied Talstar with broadcast spreader, watered it in, and a week later noticed the mounds were disappearing. Still too soon to give Talstar a thumbs up, but time will tell

I use this for my clients yards that complain of ticks. I use the battery powered Scott's handheld spreader and man it works like a dream! I only charge for the materials if I'm already there for a Spider treatment because I don't want my customers getting Lyme disease. They usually send me three referrals (or more) once I explain that I don't upcharge. Sure it adds 10-15 minutes to the job but it usually comes back three fold.

The granular version was much easier to apply than liquid in a hand sprayer. We have put it down twice now to control sod web worms in both Empire zoysia and St. Augustine grasses.

I just fenced and additional portion of my yard. Feral Cats and deer have been in the yard for years. The first day out my white little dog looked like someone had sprinkled black pepper on her head. I went out immediately and sprayed the yard with Talstar in a hose sprayer. Good results but still had some fleas on the dogs. I then spread Telstar granules over the whole new yard. Two days later no fleas showing up on the dogs, and has been that way since. As and aside, I had a lot of small ants as well as the occasional fire ant in the yard this now down to and occasional small mound of ants, but even they seem to disappear with no further treatment

this seemed to be ideal product for ants and I spread a hefty (at least 20 feet) ring around the house. Still seeing sugar ants galore. not happy with my purchase.

Our home was being overrun by millipedes outside as well as in our walkout basement. For the past couple years we've seen an increase in pest activity. I've been using Talstar P liquid around the perimeter of the home with great success, however with the increased activity I was looking for a product that would act faster with a lasting residual affect. I applied the Talstar XTRA Granules using a hand spreader and watered in per the instructions. Results were immediate and the siege has been halted. I will continue to purchase both products without hesitation. Do My Own Pest Control has provided superb service!

This is a top notch product that the pros use. I was turned on to it a few years ago by a friend who works for Terminix. I live in the northeast with three kids & a dog, so keeping the ticks out of my yard is important to my family's health. I usually put this down with my spreader & then spray the perimeter of the house & bushes/trees with the concentrate product. Works great & way cheaper than hiring the pros. Thanks for providing great products to those of us willing to do the work ourselves!

I put the granules out around the shrubbery and foundation of the house according to directions. I used the Talstar spray a month ago on the walls of the house. My roach problem has almost been elimintated. The Roaches I do see don't feel so good. Along with most other houses in Macon, last week we had our yearly infestation of redbugs crawling everywhere - except where that I had sprayed with Talstar. Good stuff and I like the lack of odor and ease of use. Make certain you have a good spreader.

Since I have about three acres to do battle with fire ants, carrying a sprayer around takes its toll on this old man. So I wanted a quick killer. The Talstar XTRA Granules fill the bill for doing battle with the mounds to small hills. Remember to water in the granules; I like to put it down just before rain.

We used Talstar granules for ant control several years ago and it worked very well. Elected to go with the Talstar XTRA based on the product info and reviews and ordered 100#. Put all 100# down, some by hand spreader to enable me to increase the amount of granules in heavier infested areas and the other by push spreader - actually hand scooping out of the hopper to put additional granules on large ant mounds. There was a small ant mound on a brick walkway - put the granules directly on it by hand. Order another 50# as had another area that needed ant control. It rained after the initial spreading of the granules and within 2 days the ants on the brick walkway were alive and well! Had to supplement with a liquid 'kill them now' insect control. Needless to say for the amount of money we spent for 150# of this we are extremely disappointed. We will be looking for something else for our future ant control.

If the Talstar Xtra granules are applied at a higher rate and watered in as labeled, you should see an initial drop in activity within the first day or two after application. It is important to keep in mind that the active ingredients in Talstar Xtra will not transfer throughout the ant colonies. Depending on what type of ants you have in the yard, sometimes you can even see a surge in activity just after applying insecticides. The Talstar granules, however, will have a residual (they'll keep working) for at least 30 days, so you should see results for weeks. You may want to give the product some more time to work before using other products. You may also want to consider using an ant bait that will work throughout the colony; you will want an identification on the specific type of ant to choose the best bait. I read the reviews about this product and had high hopes it would address my pest issue. I was interested in a product that could deal with my sod webworm issue. The sod webworms are a major pests in the Spring Texas. So, after reading the reviews, I purchased 3 bags of the Talstar XTRA Granules($120.84) in July 2017. Prior to applying the granules, I mowed the lawn closer than normal. I used a traditional mini broadcast spreader and handheld broadcast spreader to apply the granules to both the lawn and flower beds. After a few days, I monitored the lawn and flower beds. Initially, I noticed a slight decrease in the number sod webworms hanging around my entrance area to the house and the flower beds. I assumed the product was having an impact on the pest. Although, there was still a number of sod webworms flying around in the entrance area over the next few days. Later that evening, I applied another application(25lbs bag) of the Talstar XTRA Granules to the front lawn and flower beds again. And I made sure that the lawn was mowed prior to application. No luck. The pesky sod webworms were back in force the following week. If you have an issue with sod webworms, I would not recommend this product. I just placed an order for Bifen Granules, Bifen XTS and Cyzmic CS Micro-encapsulated Insecticide. Hopefully, the combination of products will eliminate the annoying and destructive pest.

This product does not work on ants, and should not be advertised for ants. I spread heavy as per the instructions, then watered in as per the instructions. Every day that went by, i thought the ants would stop. No difference what-so-ever. Very disappointed with the product, and the customer service agent that told me this is what i need.

This product did not work. My neighbors husband passed this summer. She had many mole cricket tunnels. She wet her yard, I spread the Talstar out at a lower end density on the recommended amount. She reset her yard. 2 weeks later it's worse. Using soapy water I got 5 crickets in a 2 ft square! She needs help but appears Talstar not working.

For general lawn ants like Cornfield ants, it does not work as fast as it claims. You really need to treat each and every mound, and there can be many, and then spread granules over the enitre lawn or the ants just move and invade the area not treated. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times to control them.

I purchased 2 bags of this product and it only killed 20% of the ants. Fleas are still terrible. I followed the instructions exactly. I applied with a lawn speader and it rained the evening it was applied. A lot of money spent and a waste of time. Now, I have to start over with another product and spend even more money. What a rip off. I wish I could give you negative stars. Will never buy from these folks again and will tell all my friends and neighbors what kind of experience I had.

I put this down because it kept the grubs away. I missed two seasons and was plaqued by moles, rabbits and groundhogs. It just rained so I know it will work quickly. Now to till the soil and broadcast spread a second bag just to be sure. Every product I have purchased over the past 7 years has never failed me since becoming a homeowner. Thank you!!

Superior product when it comes to Fire Ants , Fleas and Roaches . I spread over my yard and my Mothers yard on Lake Murray and within 2 days Ants were gone or dead ,fleas gone or dead , roaches gone or dead . It works fast and they stay out of yard / house for a minimum of 3 to 4 months before I see any return . I retreat the area and they are gone again !
