    Q
When using Taurus SC Termiticide to do a trench how deep does it need to be? And how far away from the house?
    A

When trenching with Taurus SC Termiticide, you should dig a 6" wide by 6" deep trench directly against the foundation of the exterior walls. Be sure to read our Liquid Termite Treatment article for full directions.

    Q
Can I spray Taurus SC on the ground for yellow jackets?
Can I mix this product per the directions and spray on the ground and grass for yellow jacket control without hurting the pets? Thanks
    A

Taurus SC Termiticide cannot be applied to the ground for yellow jackets, only on a building in the eaves where they may nest or try to enter a structure. A better option for ground control on lawns if needed would be something like Tempo SC Ultra.

  • Asked by Renco from New Smyrna Beach, Fl
    06/20/2018
    Q
What is the per gallon mixture ratio of Taurus SC?
I want to spray areas of infestation in the house.
    A

Taurus SC is not for indoor use at all unless you are treating for an active termite colony behind a wall void that you plan to drill a small hole into the wall to get to. If that is the case, you would use the same rate as you would for the trenching method outdoors which is 0.8 oz per gallon of water.

  • Asked by Dennis from Aiea, Hi
    06/18/2018
    Q
Taurus SC: why the 4 times a year restriction?
I'm using it for ants. Why wouldn't I use this again if they appear again? Even it means applying more than 4 times a year? Thanks.
    A

Taurus SC Termiticide has a long residual and should only be applied at the lowest rate if using 4 times a year as labeled by the manufacturer to be the safest application.  You will still see ants after application as it takes time to completely kill off a colony but you should not apply more often than labeled. They will still die after contacting a treated area.

  • Asked by Eric from Ok
    06/16/2018
    Q
How many square feet will a 78 oz bottle of Taurus SC Termiticide cover?
    A

Taurus SC Termiticide in the 78 oz bottle will cover 240 lineal feet of trenching/drilling for termite applications. It makes 100 gallons of solution. We would suggest the 20 oz bottle for treatment topically around the structures (1 ft up and 1 ft out). Each 20 oz. bottle will make 24 gallons of solution and will treat 16,600 sq ft.

  • Asked by Dc from Orlando, Fl
    07/31/2017
    Q
Can I spot treat with Taurus SC indoors under the slab and on replacement wood?
I have subterranean termites infesting my hardwood floor tiles (over a slab foundation). Last week I applied Taurus SC via trenching the exterior permimeter of the house (as well as drilling the carport and porches near the walls). I have pulled up the ruined wood tiles in several areas inside the house. Is it safe to drill through the slab indoors and inject Taurus SC below the slab in these areas? I would plug the holes immediately. Also (as I happen have some replacement floor tiles handy) can I spray the UNDERSIDE of some of the replacement tiles (outside) and (after they have thoroughly dried) place these tiles back in the house (Taurus SC side DOWN) on the slab? I am hoping this might help get a head start on wiping out the termites that are active in the floor now. I do not want to jeopardize the health of my self or pets, however. Please advise. Thanks.
    A

Yes, you can inject Taurus SC under the slab that is part of the house area. This would be considered part of your termite treatment since they were found active in this area. You would NOT be permitted to apply the Taurus SC to the new wood that is being installed. The best product for this application would be Boracare which is a wood preservative that can be applied to any raw wood and lasts for the life of the wood.

Taurus SC is nothing like Dursban, however we do not know if the person that has reactions to Dursban would have a reaction to Taurus sc. We recommend that you contact that persons physician for further advice.

  • Asked by Sherry from Norfolk, Va
    05/27/2015
    Q
Can Taurus SC be diluted enough to use indoors, or other similar product in bulk?- must contain fipronil.
Trying to end Cheyletiella mite infestation. I've been going through hell for over a year. This mite spreads from bunny rabbits to dog and cats, and will also feast on keratin layer of human skin. Infests the home environment and can live off it's host from 2 days to several weeks. The eggs can be laid and hatch from anywhere - fabric, the floor, clothing, etc. It's taken me over 9 months to identify the problem, now I cannot get rid of it. Fipronil spray works on my pet, but I need to treat the inside of my home with a more economical solution in bulk that will work for good. Any help much appreciated!
    A

Taurus SC is NOT labeled for mites or indoor applications. We do not contain a fipronil product that is labeled for this type of application indoors or for the specific insect that you are treating. We highly recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office for a product selection that will best fit your needs with this particular active ingredient.

  • Asked by John from Wilmington, Nc
    05/12/2019
    Q
How much Taurus SC goes into each hole that is drilled and what is the best way to do this?
    A

When you have any concrete against the home (such as a patio or garage that shares walls with inside rooms) that prevents you from trenching across it, you have to drill holes every 12 inches and treat each hole with roughly 1/2 to 1 gallon of mixed solution. Each hole should be drilled with a bit that is roughly 1/2 wide and 18 inches long. Please review the Taurus SC Product Label and our article How To Do A Termite Treatment for all the proper techniques for a homeowner to treat this area.

  • Asked by Rich from Worchester, Ma
    05/14/2016
    Q
Will Taurus SC also kill springtails?
I'm spraying Taurus for ants around the house. If not, what else should I spray?
    A

No, Taurus SC is not labeled for springtails. We would recommend using Talstar P around your home for springtails. This product should not be sprayed in the same areas as Taurus SC so that they do not work against each other. The mixing ratio is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. When treating for springtails, it is crucial to identify and eliminate the excess moisture issue where this pest breeds in order to permantly address the infestation.
