    Q
Which product is better for getting rid of Yellow Jacket Wasps, Delta Dust or Tempo 1% Dust?
I have Yellow Jackets under my cedar siding of my home. I also had to kill a couple inside my house.
    A

Our most popular dust  for bees/wasp is Tempo Dust.  You will need a hand duster to apply it with.  It usually works within 24 to 48 hours. You want to go up to the opening where they are flying in and out of at dusk or at night when they are not active and puff twice directly into the hole.  Then pull the duster out and puff directly at the hole to cover the opening from about 5 inches away.  This is the most efficient and fastest way to eliminate a bee/yellow jacket/wasp nest.

    Q
How can I get rid of cicada killer bees?
    A
Tempo dust would be a good choice to help control the cicada killers. Tempo dust offers a pretty fast knockdown though you should note that it does not offer an instant knockdown. You may want to consider using a instant knockdown spray such as Eco PCO Jet-X. Eco PCO Jet-X provides instant knockdown and kill of stinging insects. The Jet Spray can be sprayed up to 15 ft. Cicada Killer wasps thrive in disturbed environments, such as landscaped yards and places where bare soil is exposed. You can discourage the wasps from nesting in your yard by cutting your grass on the highest setting and by adding a thick layer of mulch to flower beds during the Cicada Killer Wasp season. These wasps do not like over saturated lawns either, so over watering during their season will help prevent them. Unfortunately there is no fool proof way to prevent cicada killer wasps.

    Q
Is Tempo dust good for puffing into wall voids for bed bugs? Also how does it kill? Do bugs ingest it?
I've done two complete treatments Suspend SC with Gentrol everywhere and Phantom aerosol between carpet and the baseboard. Thought it wouldn't hurt to drill holes in wallboard and puff into voids, too before doing another complete spray.
    A
Tempo dust is a great product for bed bug control and your plan of action would be advised because dust can last up to a year inside wall voids.  The Bed Bugs do not ingest the dust.  If you were to look at a dust product under a microscope, it would look like shards of glass.  When an insect, including bed bugs, walks over dust, the jagged edges cut the insects exoskeleton which results in the insect dehydrating and dying.  The exoskeleton of an insect holds in moisture and if compromised, the insect will die very quickly.

    Q
Will Tempo Dust work on trees for yellow jackets?
I have a couple of crape myrtle trees outside my door but one of them has at least 25-50 yellow jackets on it/flying around it all day. I live on an acre wooded lot, thus not knowing where the nests are. Would the dust be effective or should I try something else?
    A
The dust will not harm the trees, but the yellow jackets will only be affected if they land on the dust that is applied on the tree.  Dust is typically meant to be applied in cracks and crevices and openings to the nest of the bees/yellow jackets/wasps.  When applied to a tree it will be exposed to the weather and can be washed away by rain or blown away by wind.  If yellow jackets is your main issue and you do not know where the nest is, we recommend our yellow jacket baiting system.  The yellow jackets will take a bait that you provide mixed with the insecticide, Onslaught in the kit, and take it back to the nest wherever it may be and spread the product around killing the nest.

    Q
Is Tempo Dust 1% a good product against Cicada Killers?
I get holes in my lawn. These CK's dig in leaving a thumb width trail of dirt (soil) outside the hole. I have a contract with a insect pest control outfit, the "technician" shows up once a week to squirt powder in the holes. By the time he comes back, I have 15 to 30 more holes to deal with. I need an insecticide that I can use on a daily bases to control and rid these annoying flying two and a half inch "Killer Cicadas" around me, and they are destroying the appearance of my lawn. This is the second year in a row I'm having this problem. Will this Tempo Dust 1% help me rid these Cicada Killers.

    Q
What is an effective product to eliminate yellow jackets in the wall behind outside singles?
The nest is not visible. We have used aerosol sprays in the opening in the shingle, but they have not been effective. This problem has occurred in other areas of our home in past seasons. We have used an exterminator in the past, but at this point, it's too expensive. I believe we need a powder that can be applied to the opening that the wasps will carry into the nest. I reside in NY.
    A
Tempo 1% dust would be a great insecticide dust to use around and in the openings where the yellow jackets are entering and exiting the shingles. Tempo Dust formulation contains one of the most effective compounds available for quick knockdown and long-term residual control of stinging insects. We do recommend that the dust be applied with a hand duster to be sure the dust is getting into the crevice.

    Q
Will Tempo Dust work on Cicada Killer Wasp?
I have Cicada Killers in my backyard and I need to get rid of them - will this work? What is best - using in tandem with Cynoff WP or alone? This is year number three battling these wasp and I can no longer enjoy my backyard because of them. HELP!
    A
Tempo Dust is great for Cicada Killers or any other flying insect.  In the evening when they are in their burrow you can treat each individual burrow with 2 quick puffs of Tempo Dust using a hand duster.  For overall prevention you can apply Cyperwp over landscaped areas where they like to nest to deter future burrows from being made.

    Q
Will Tempo 1% Dust work on the exterior paper wasp and yellow jacket nests?
Will this product work on nests/colonies that are not in an interior location? We have many nests on our house in our attic vents, window shutters, under the eaves, and under our bow windows. We have been spraying to kill them for years, but they keep making new nests in all the same places over and over again. I want to finally get rid of them for good!! Thanks.
    A
Absolutely!  You can apply Tempo Dust anywhere you see wasps, yellow jackets, and any other pest for that matter are entering either your home or another structure.  You can even use Tempo Dust for yellow jackets nesting in the ground or in a nest hanging from a tree.  Tempo Dust is by far our best selling dust for flying insects.  It will typically wipe out a nuisance next within 24 hours.  It is best to apply the dust in the late evening when they are not actively flying around anymore.  1 to 2 puffs from a hand duster is all that you need.

    Q
I know you do not recommend killing honey bees but they are under our trim and coming in the house.
What do you recommend? Thank you for your time.
    A
The first thing you can do is contact your local cooperative extension office and ask for the phone number for your local honey bee farmer. Many bee farmers will come remove honey bees free of charge because of the recent decline in the honey bee population. If this is not an option for you, you can use a hand duster to apply a dust product such as Tempo Dust into and around the area where the bees seem to be gaining access to your home. Over a period of a couple of days to a week (timeline will depend on how many bees are contacting the treated area) this will kill off the colony that has taken up residence in your home. Any insecticide applications should be done very early in the morning or very late in the evening when the bees are less active. After the bees have been eliminated it is important to remove the bee hive from the void where the bees were nesting. Failure to remove the hive can lead to mold issues and secondary infestation from hive beetles and other insects. If the bee hive is in an area that is not easily accessible you may want to consider hiring a professional pest control operator.

    Q
Why can't you just dispense Tempo dust straight from the bottle? Do I really need a hand duster to apply Tempo?
    A
You could dispense Tempo dust right from the bottle, but you would be wasting a large amount of the product. The dust would come out too fast and you would most likely have a hard time getting the dust directly into cracks, crevices and voids because the bottle is not made for application purposes. We definitely recommend purchasing a hand duster to make application more efficient. Most customers that have purchased insecticide dusts, but declined to get a hand duster, have called back to make the purchase after they tried to apply the dust straight from the bottle.

    Q
How well does tempo dust work on carpenter ants?
    A
Tempo Dust is a great product to use in a wall void or other area if you know that is where the ants are nesting.  However, if you have ants inside and outside the house, but have no idea where the nest is, you should use a bait that the ants will take back to the colony for you.  Our best selling carpenter ant products are in a carpenter ant kit.  There is a bait for application outside and inside where you see activity.  It has a very high success rate; read the reviews.

    Q
Is this the best insecticide dust to use on our bee wasp hornet or yellow jacket problem?
We have a bee/wasp/hornet/yellow jacket problem. In other words, we are not sure about the critters, We believe they are wasps. Some of the hives appear to be in the ground, and others in the usual areas. Will this product work on all of the above, in case we are wrong about our assumption? Also, will it work for the hives that are underground?
    A
Yes, this is our most popular dust for bees in general.  Wether they are in the ground or in your home going under a roof shingle, or a paper nest out in the open, one to two quick puffs from this dust will knock them out.  You should get a hand duster to apply the product.  Also, it is best to apply the dust late at night or very early morning when the bees are less active.  Night usually works best.

    Q
How do I use Tempo Dust to get rid of a bee or wasp nest?
Is the Tempo 1% Dust effective if the nest cannot be found and it is assumed the bees are either in the wall or ceiling? If dusted in the openings, will the bees take the dust into the nest to kill all off?
    A
Yes, the Tempo 1% Dust is our best selling product to eradicate bees.  If you know where the opening is where the bees are going in and out, and you dust that opening, the bees will get the dust on the hair on their legs and carry it back to the nesting area.  Usually this will eradicate a bee colony within 24 - 48 hours depending on the size.  It is best to treat the opening late at night or very early morning when they are all inside and less active.
