Tempo SC Ultra should not be applied within 25 ft of any well, pond, lake, stream or wetland. It should be applied to the listed areas when there is not any wind to avoid drift. You should also apply to areas that will not runoff into water areas. It is also toxic to aquatic organisms.
Leaf cutter ants can be a difficult pest to get rid of. The colonies are large and the ants make their own food so poison baits only have limited effects on this species of ants. According to several university websites, Maxforce Complete Granules containing hydramethlynon are some what effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times. DeltaGard granules is one of the only products actually labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again, it may take several treatments to get the desired results. We also recommend contacting your local cooperative extension office to see if they have any recommendations for products that have worked for other people in your region.

While Tempo SC can provide some relief of those flies that land on a treated surface long enough to receive a lethal dose, it is just not a fast kill. Apply it once a month for best results. The best recommendation for flies outside is using traps to draw them away from an area you want to protect. The Flies Be Gone Fly Trap would be good to use. Another option is using baits like QuickStrike.
How long it takes the ticks to die after they come into contact with a treated area will depend on a number of factors. It will depend on the maturity of the tick as well as how long they stayed on the treated area, how long it has been since the area was treated and the concentration that was used to treat the area. Typically it can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a day or so for them to die. It can take several weeks for you to stop seeing ticks indoors because the ticks like to stay hidden which also means they could be staying out of treated areas and eggs may hatch out prolonging the infestation. We recommend doing follow up treatments every two weeks at the highest usage rate of 16 ml of Tempo SC Ultra per gallon of water
