    Q
Can you spray Tempo SC Ultra on house plants for gnats?
    A

You could potentially treat houseplants or other interior ornamental plants with Tempo SC Ultra as a foliar spray to help kill adult insects. If you have fungus gnats, they are usually caused by overwatering plants. Be sure to let the soil of your plants dry out to eliminate the harborage areas for these plants. If soil is compacted and very dense, consider repotting plants with severe infestations.

    Q
How many ml of Tempo SC Ultra do I need for 32 ounces of water?
When mixing this product with water I'm using a hand sprayer that is 32 ounces, so I need to know how many mL's of the product to add to 32 ounces of water.
    A

Tempo SC Ultra is usually best mixed with 1 gallon of water since it has such low dilution rates.  You would use 8-16 ml or 0.27 to .054 fl oz per gallon of water, so for a quart sprayer (be sure it is not a trigger sprayer; it must be a pump sprayer) you would just divide that by 4 (since there are 4 quarts in a gallon), which would equal 2-4 ml or 0.07 to 0.14 fl oz.  Please refer to the product label for the rate based on your target pest.

  • Asked by Nicci from Viborg,sd

    Q
    Will Tempo kill chiggers?
Can we spray the entire yard without killing the grass?
    A

Yes,  Tempo SC Ultra can be applied at a rate of 8 ml of Tempo per 1000 square feet for chiggers.  The amount of water depends on how much you need to apply the 8 ml over the area.  It can be mixed with a few gallons of water, or 10 gallons of water, just as long as the 8 ml is applied over the 1000 square feet. Treatments for chiggers should begin in April/May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkept areas of the lawn and lawn edge. You can also use Tempo SC Ultra as a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra kill honey bees?
I have some honey bees that have started to build in the underside of my mobile home.
    A

While Tempo SC Ultra can be used to kill honey bees, we recommend that you first contact your local cooperative extension office and ask them to help you find a local bee removal service if at all possible, as honey bees are in steep decline and the law dictates they should only be killed after a bee keeper has been consulted and cannot help safely remove the colony.

    Q
Do i need to clean my house after using tempo for silverfish when i have a 14 month crawling around?
My 14 month old is constantly crawling on the floor and putting things in his mouth. We treated our home with Tempo for silverfish and got an exterminator in. Is it safe for our baby to be crawling around and putting things in his mouth? Do i also need to clean all his toys?
    A
There is no need to clean anything when Tempo is being used as required on the product label. Indoors it should have only been used in cracks and crevices and in other areas that are mainly inaccessible to children. If the product was not used as outlined in these requirements then you would need to thoroughly wash the areas that were sprayed with soap and water.

    Q
How long do you need to stay out the house when you use Tempo SC Ultra or Tempo 1% Dust?
    A

Only the applicator should be present during the application of Tempo SC Ultra or Tempo 1% Dust and then leave. You (along with others) can return when the surfaces are completely dried and the dust has settled. This is usually a couple of hours.

    Q
Will Tempo kill a rose chafer? Does this product work directly to insects or do they have to ingest the leaves?
I have these beetles that appear to be an infestation. When I look them up on the internet, they appear to look like a rose chafer beetle. A flowered shrub was littered with them and now they are moving to a newly planted river birch and are eating up the foliage. I applied Tempo already and let dry, it has since rained, but the beetles keep coming in swarms. How often can I apply this product. It works great, but the beetles just keep coming, I don't want to over spray and kill my new tree.
    A
Tempo should not hurt the bush at all and is commonly used on turf and ornamentals.  You can spray the tree/shrub as often as needed.  The Tempo does not kill the bugs when they ingest the leaves, it just kills them by touch and when the beetles land on a leaf they pick up the product on their bodies.  The plant should not absorb the product due to the waxy coating on the leaves.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra kill squash bugs on Pumpkin plants?
I have the dreaded squash bug and need a somthing that will knock them out and not harm my plants. It would be great if it would knock out cucumber beetles too!
    A
Tempo is not labeled for that use. We have many products that can be used in/on pumpkin and squash plants. For example, Bayer Advanced Fruit, Citrus, veggie Concentrate is labeled to treat cucumber beetles, but not squash bug. We recommend contacting your local Master Gardener at Your local Cooperative Extension Office for advice on which products are working to treat squash bug in your area.

  • Asked by Tim from Fargo, Nd
    09/08/2015
    Q
If I spray my yard for mosquitoes, should Tempo SC Ultra work for 3 to 4 weeks? What if I mow my grass in this time?
    A

We recommend that you mow your lawn 1-2 days prior to applying the Tempo SC Ultra for mosquito control. You will also want to focus on applying the product to the undersides of non-edible tree leaves and shrubs. You can apply also around window and door frames, the siding and cracks and crevices for control. You will mix 8-16 ml per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. It does have an outdoor residual of 4 weeks.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra harm my cat if he ingested it?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra can harm a cat if they ingest a large quantity of the actual product or mixed solution.  Pets should be out of the treated area until dry and then the small amount left behind would not be enough to harm a pet if they were to contact after.

    Q
Is Tempo SC Ultra still effective if the bottle froze?
I hand the bottle in the garage for the winter and it was below freezing for a few weeks. It was not mixed, it is still in the original bottle.
    A

For best results, Tempo SC Ultra should be stored at or near room temperature.  If it became frozen for any length of time, we recommend that you purchase another bottle.
