We reccomend you use the Temprid SC Insecticide every 14 days. When bed bugs are found in upholstered furniture, apply only to the infested tufts, seams, folds and edges, but do not apply to flat surfaces where prolonged human contact will occur. If bugs heavily infest furniture (inside cushions and/or batting) we reccomend to apply a dust like the Cimexa.
We suggest using an insecticide spray such as Temprid SC and an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol Point Source Stations. Please take a few moments to read over our article How to Get Rid of Roaches to learn how to implement a successful roach control program.
You can use a different insecticide in your existing sprayer as long as it is clean and free from other chemical residues that may interfere with the Temprid SC. You can always use a Sprayer Cleaner to help neutralize and remove any potential residues in your sprayer. Be sure to use up solution as soon as possible, do not store any solution in your sprayer, and triple rinse after each use.
When using Temprid SC Insecticide to treat for bedbugs it may be used every 7 days for retreatment. We would recommend using the products contained in one of our Bedbug Kits to properly treat for a bed bug infestation. You may also refer to our Bedbug Guide for tips on how to use the products in our kits.
They should not be mixed together. It would be better to apply Temprid SC instead of Demon WP because Temprid SC is labeled for both roaches and bedbugs. Demon WP is only labeled for roaches. We would suggest the components in our Bedbug Kit and Maxforce FC Magnum if treating both insects in the same areas. When using Temprid SC or any insecticide we recommend using the mixed product within 24 hours. It sounds like you don't need a full gallon of solution based off of your square footage, so we would recommend cutting the dilution in half. You can use half a gallon of water per 8mL of Temprid.
This could possibly still be part of the same infestation since oriental cockroaches a nymphal stages that can last anywhere from 24-130 weeks, but more than likely this is part of new population. We would recommend using Temprid SC Insecticide again like you did last year, and be sure you are especially paying attention to where you have seen the current activity.
Temprid SC is labeled to be sprayed around cracks and crevices, so you could potentially spray it in the cracks and crevices of the toy box as long as there are no toys in the box. Just be sure to let it dry completely before adding those back in. However, we would not recommend spraying it directly on the toys themselves. Also be sure that your child is out of the area while you are spraying, and until the product dries completely.
We recommend that you apply the Temprid SC while your skin is covered and only apply to listed cracks and crevices on the product label. Please let us know if you need anything else.
We do not recommend treating the trees with Temprid SC for termite control. Termites do not normally attack live, healthy trees so you most likely will not find any products that will work as a ground barrier around the trees. Most people are primarily concerned with protecting the big investment, their home, and Termidor SC would be the product to use for that. It is only labeled to be used adjacent to the structure though. Please take a moment to read over our article on "How to do a Termite Treatment" for complete details. Termidor SC can be applied up against the structure (1ft up and 1 ft out) for a perimeter for ant control.
Termidor SC is not known to leech through the soil. You will need to follow the Termidor SC product label which has specific instructions for treating near a well to avoid any contamination issues:
TREATMENT AROUND WELLS OR CISTERNS: Do not contaminate wells or cisterns.
Structures With Wells/Cisterns Inside Foundations: Structures that contain wells or cisterns within the foundation of a structure can only be treated using the following techniques:
1. Do not apply within 5 feet of any well or cistern by rodding and/or trenching or by the backfill method. Treat soil between 5 and 10 feet from the well or cistern by the backfill method only. Treatment of soil adjacent to water pipes within 3 feet of grade should only be done by the backfill method.
a) Trench and remove soil to be treated onto heavy plastic sheeting or similar material or into a wheelbarrow.
b) Treat the soil at the rate of 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet per foot of depth of the trench, or 1 gallon per 1.0 cubic feet of soil. Mix thoroughly into the soil taking care to contain the liquid and prevent runoff or spillage.
c) After the treated soil has absorbed the solution, replace the soil into the trench.
Structures With Adjacent Wells/Cisterns and/or Other Water Bodies: Applicators must inspect all structures with nearby water sources such as wells, cisterns, surface ponds, streams, and other bodies of water and evaluate, at a minimum, the treatment recommendations listed below prior to making an application.
1. Prior to treatment, if feasible, expose the water pipes) coming from the well to the structure, if the pipes) enter the structure within 3 feet of grade.
2. Prior to treatment applicators are advised to take precautions to limit the risk of applying the termiticide into subsurface drains that could empty into any bodies of water. These precautions include evaluating whether application of the termiticide to the top of the footer may result in contamination of the subsurface drain. Factors such as depth to the drain system and soil type and degree of compaction should be taken into account in determining the depth of treatment.
3. When appropriate (i.e., on the water side of the structure), the treated backfill technique (described above) can also be used to minimize off-site movement of termiticide.
Yes, any kkind of mopping, steaming, or scrubbing the areas that Temprid SC has been applied to will pull the product off the baseboards once it has dried. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
Yes Temprid SC would be a great product to use in rotation with Talstar P for clover mites and most any other general insect control around the home as well. While Talstar is our go-to product for clover mites, using a product like Temprid in rotation is great due to its dual active ingredient to help combat any resistance issues and offer a little longer residual as well.
Temprid SC Insecticide must be used within 24 hours of mixing with water, it cannot be stored and used later. After this time the product would breakdown and not be very effective. To get best results only mix what is needed at a time, use within 24 hours, and make a new batch if further treatment is needed 7-10 days after the initial treatment depending on the target pest.
You will mix 8 ml of Temprid SC Insecticide and 1 oz of Gentrol per gallon of water.
The shelf life of the Temprid SC in original bottle is 3 years if stored in a cool dry area.
Temprid SC Insecticide would not be recommended to be used for fleas inside as you cannot broadcast it on interior surfaces such as carpets. You can only apply in cracks and crevices for indoor applications. We would recommend our Indoor Flea Kit instead. Temprid SC Insecticide can be tank mixed with Gentrol IGR. You will mix 8ml of Temprid SC and 1 fl oz of Gentrol IGR per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. You can treat as early as once every 7-10 days for severe infestations, quarterly to interior crevices and monthly to exterior listed areas for roaches. We recommend that you take a few moments to review our treatment article/videos on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful eradication program including baiting, exclusion, etc.
Yes Temprid SC Insecticide works on different roach breeds. It is also recommended that you mix the Temprid SC with an insect growth regulator, such as Gentrol IGR. This will stop the life cycle of the roaches. This lasts approximately three months. Please see our Roach Treatment Guide for more information.
Temprid SC can be sprayed around livestock housing but we would recommend to avoid any water source as well as any food source. When treating areas over your head, wear eye protection (safety glasses, goggles, or face shield) and dust/mist mask or respirator. Do not allow excessive dripping or run-off to occur from vertical or overhead surfaces. Please read and follow the label instructions.
