    How long after application is Tenacity rainfast?
    Applied 4oz/acre to 30 day old seedlings and got 1.5" of rain a few hours later. Rainfall was quick enough to cause flooding, 1.5" in about 2 hours. Will the Tenacity application be effective?

    Will food coloring work to mark areas on turf that I spot sprayed ?

    Yes, some folks do use food coloring to mark where  Tenacity Herbicide has been applied.

    Should grass clippings be bagged after tenacity application, or left on lawn with mulching mower for 1st cut?

    It would be best if clipping were bagged after first mow and applicaion of 
    Tenacity Herbicide.  Bagging will also help with lawn health.

    What is the best product to get rid of poa annua in my lawn?
    new lawn loaded with poa now seed heads everywhere I also do have some issues with bent grass I have used tenacity for it is the a product to control the poa annua pre or post apps spring and fall to kill and control?????

    Tenacity Herbicide is labeled for both pre and post emergent control of selective weeds. The label specifically states that bentgrass and poa annua are sensitive to this product and will likely kill it. With poa annua, it is labeled for pre-emergent control only. Tenacity will kill bent grass both pre and post emergently.

    Will Tenacity damage Poa trivialis lawngrass?
    I have Poa Triv in shady areas and need to get rid of invasive creeping bent in my lawn.
    A
    The product label for Tenacity does not specify whether it would harm poa trivialis. Both bentgrass and poa annua may be sensitive to Tenacity, while Kentucky Bluegrass is listed as tolerant. Certainty Herbicide is labeled to control poa trivialis, but we are not certain if it would harm the bentgrass. The best option for you is to spot treat the rough bluegrass with RoundUp QuickPro and then reseed with the desirable turfgrass.

    Does Tenacity work on Nimbleweed?

    Tenacity is labeled for post-emergent control of Nimbleweed. Per the product label, you may need a second application after 2 to 3 weeks. Apply to young, actively growing weeds, and be sure to use a surfactant such as Southern Ag Non-Ionic surfactant for post-emergent applications.

    In one answer about watering you state it does not need to be watered in because it is mixed with water;
    however, in another answer you state it does, indeed need to be watered in asap. could you please clarify which is correct. Thank you.

    Tenacity is a systemic preemergence and postemergence herbicide for the selective contact and residual control of weeds in turfgrasses. When applied as a preemergent, weeds absorb Tenacity during emergence from the soil. Dry conditions following application may reduce the preemergence activity. If rainfall (0.15 inches) has not occurred within 10 days after a preemergence application, activate with 0.15 inches of irrigation. When used as a postemergent, susceptible weeds absorb Tenacity through foliar contact and soil absorption. Therefore, you should water in Tenacity when using it as a preemergent herbicide but it does not need to be watered in when using it as a postemergent herbicide.

    What is the shelf-life of Tenacity Herbicide?
    I plan to use this for spot treatments on small areas of bentgrass. Using only 1/2tsp per gallon, an 8oz bottle is going to last me at least a few years. What is the shelf-life of this product?

    If stored in a cool dry area,  Tenacity Herbicide will last up to 3 years.

    You can mow your lawn 2 days before application of Tenacity Herbicide and 2-3 days after application.

    Why doesn't Tenacity ship to CA?

    There are EPA regulations in each state that state which products can be shipped to a particular state. Some products do not obtain registration in certain states. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

    I have what a landscape person called Rough Stalk Bluegrass, a Canadian Hybrid or Poa Trivilais.
    There are patches in my yard that have a bright greenish color. It really stands out. Will Tenacity take care of this.

     Tenacity Herbicide is labeled to take care of this. Be sure to mix a surfactant like Non Ionic surfactant to help promote the product to stick.

    The bentgrass is gone. How often do I need to spray Tenacity to keep the bentgrass out?
    I don't want the bentgrass to come back. Please let me know at what interval I should spray Tenacity.

    We apologize but there is not an exact time frame of how often you should apply the Tenacity Herbicide to keep the bentgrass out of your lawn. The product label states that the Tenacity acts as a pre and post emergent on bentgrass so it should help prevent it for at least a few months if you sprayed recently as a spring application. Post emergent wise, you would apply it as you start to see new signs of bentgrass growth to eliminate it as its come up at that point. Tenacity is a strong product so you dont want to over apply the product and risk harming/burning your lawn or whiten it too much. You could easily apply it every 3 or 4 monts and should be fine however per the product label regarding treating for bentgrass it states:

    Control of bentgrass (Agrostis spp.) and nimblewill (Muhlenbergia schreberi) – Apply Tenacity at 5 fl. oz. per acre in at least 30 gallons of water per acre at two to three week interval for up to three applications. Apply with a NIS surfactant. Bentgrass control may be more effective in the late summer/early fall just prior to onset of renewed bentgrass growth, than spring/early summer applications.

    Will Tenacity Herbicide effect insects in the target area?

    Tenacity Herbicide will not affect insects in the area that has been treated. It is a reduced risk herbicide. According to the manufacturer, Tenacity Herbicide should is not recommended to spray while bees are foraging.

    How often do I apply Tenacity to healthy lawn to keep the bentgrass out?
    I have killed the Bentgrass with Tenacity and reseeded. New grass is now growing in those areas. It is mid-October in NW Oregon. How often should I apply Tenacity to prevent the Bentgrass from coming back?

    You can reapply Tenacity Herbicide when the newly germinated turf has been mowed two to three times or four weeks after emergence, which is longer. Repeat applications can be done after two to three weeks for continued post emergent weed control.

    Will Tenacity work on Nutsedge growing in my Oporum ground cover?

    Tenacity is a systemic preemergent labeled to treat for Yellow Nutsedge only, but not does list other types of nutsedge. We do carry Sedgehammer, a post emergent which is labeled for Purple and Yellow Nutsedge control. We recommend contacting your local Master Gardner for clarification on the effects of either of the products on you oporum ground cover.

    What product do you recommend to kill Creeping Charlie in our lawn?
    I do want a product that is not harmful to our lawn grass. Thank you

    Tenacity is labled to control Ground Ivy "Creeping Charlie" as post emergent control. We highly recommend using a temporary turf colorant like Turf Mark Blue so that you can see where you spray with the Tenacity to avoid overlapping. Tenacity is a great product, but also a very strong product so too much overlapping or mixing the product too strong can cause temporary damage and whitening to your turf around the ground ivy. The color will come back in the lawn after 3-4 weeks but to avoid this potential problem it is best to use a colorant to make sure no overlap occurs. To get optimum results for post emergent control it is recommended you use a Non Ionic Surfactant in your mixture as well. Please be sure to find out what type of turf you have and review the product label to make sure your turf is tolerant to this product.

    What effect does Tenacity have on Barletta pear trees
    A
    Tenacity Herbicide if applied on a windy day could harm/ discolor the bark. We would recommend to spot treat using Roundup Quik pro.

    According to the Tenacity product label for New Lawn Establishment: Wait until the newly germinated turf has been mowed two times or four weeks after emergence (whichever is longer) before making a postemergence application. If it is an established lawn, we recommend waiting to mow your lawn 2-3 days after application and 2 days prior to application.

    Will Tenacity kill seedling trees?
    I have a newly planted tree grove (last year) and there are many growing broadeaf weeds that are taking over.

    Tenacity Herbicide is not labeled for trees so spraying around the trees could possibly harm them. We would recommend contacting the manufacturer directly for instructions on spraying around new trees. Here is the number: 866-796-4368.
