    I am a do-it-yourselfer. What applicator should I purchase to apply termidor HE to the soil.
    I will purchase termidor HE and will make the application myself. I know the product must be inserted into the soil. I need to know the name(s) of the appliance used to insert the termidor into the soil, so I can purchase this appliance. Any and all info you can share with me will be greatly appreciated.     Hoping to Get a Reply Before I Open Wall...Thanks!
    I left a message here very early AM on 6/2, so please excuse this second message so soon!!! I decided to wait to hear from you before I open the wall, but termites are eating my wall up so fast it is scary. I want to make sure my plan is sound. Basically I have active drywood termites in a wall. (They completely destroyed a 6 x 8 solid interior wood wall within a few days, and are still moving! I already have some of your Termidor SC (LIQUID, NOT FOAM). Since I will be taking down the indoor wood wall planks anyway where it is damaged, I thought I could just go ahead and spray the inside wall void directly with my Termidor SC liquid wherever I see the Active termites, tunnels, or other evidence. (I did not see any need to use the FOAM since I am opening my walls.) I am expecting termites to be within a 10 ft long wall area. Once I spray, I wanted to board the wall void area back up with TEMPORARY plywood for about a week just to make sure the termites had time to spread the product. After a week, I would then replace any damaged studs, and walls, and coat new good wood with your Bora Care before closing the walls back up. My feeling is that the Termidor SC liquid would spread throughout the colony perhaps better than the Boracare. This is why I wanted to use that directly on the termites that are already there before spraying the good wood with Boracare. Is my plan sound? Anything else you might suggest? THANKS!

    Your plan sounds great! Yes, spot treat with Termidor let that do it's job, then 3 months later replace the wall. If you  have more questions, let is know!

    Leaking of Termidor into the garage?
    In one of my houses, the garage foundation leaks a little water when we have hard rain. Will the trench method cause the termidor or any other product to leak into the property? I really don't want this stuff in my living space, do I?

    Termidor has low solubility in water. It will bind with the soil and should not leak into your living space.

    HELP... Will Spraying Termidor SC Directly on Active Drywall Termites Work
    I purchased your Termidor SC in order to trench around outdoor slab, BUT I have since discovered that I have active drywood termites already in a wall Within 1 week I noticed they ate through a 6'x8' section of an interior solid 1" thick mahogany like wood!. I also found the exterior wall seam that they entered in from. There were no tunnels from the ground, only a big tunnel in this exterior wall gap. Based on the new kick-out pellets I have seen each day for the past several days, I expect to see LIVE ACTIVE termites when I remove this interior wall. I would like to spray all of these ACTIVE termites directly as I see them, any nests, and also drill studs and inject more Termidor SC in damaged studs. AFTERWARDS, I would like to take down this TEMPORARY plywood that has been covering my wall void and replace ALL damaged wood at that time. MY QUESTION IS, How long do you think I should wait before taking down my temporary plywood wall and replacing damaged studs? I want it to be enough time for the active termites that I sprayed to have carried the Termidor SC to the other termites. Do you think a week would be long enough? Finally, I would replace the damaged studs with pressure treated wood, AND also spray on some of your BoraCare to adjacent areas of wood that was not damaged. Do you think my plan of attack is good? Please let me know ASAP I am not sure if a couple of days mater or not at this point. Anything else I should consider doing? Thanks!

    First you want to open this area up and go ahead and treat with Termidor. Wait three months for the product to eradicate the colony and then replace the dry wall and wood. We also recommend to trench around the outside perimeter of your home to. Treating now, will help lower the chances that the termites will move to another area.

    We would recommend to pull the gravel back and then apply Termidor to the soil. You want to make the applcation once very 6 months.

    If Termidor is sprayed on untreated wood, does it prevent termites? If so, for how long? What is best way to treat 4"x 4" post with dry wood termites to kill and prevent future infestation?
    A
    Termidor SC (fipronil for termites) and Bora-Care will work, but Bora-Care is typically the better one to use for this situation. Termidor SC is not a wood treatment product, so for it to work you have to drill holes EXACTLY where the termites are and it has to touch the termites to work.  If you miss where they are, it will not work.  Also, Termidor SC does not really have any residual in the wood, so after you treat inside the wood with Termidor SC and it dries, that wood is exposed for future termite and beetle infestations.

    Bora-Care is usually the preferred choice if most of the wood is exposed and it is raw wood you are treating, meaning it is not painted, stained, or sealed, it is just normal wood.  Bora-Care is made only for wood, and you do not have to know exactly where the termites are for it to work which is a plus.  Bora-Care is sprayed evenly over all exposed surfaces of the wood and actually penetrates through the entire piece of wood.  When the termites in the wood try to consume the wood after it has been treated, they ingest the Bora-Care with the wood and die.  No matter where they are in the wood the Bora-Care will find them as long as you treated the exposed wood that you can see.  The other main benefit is that Bora-Care stays in the wood forever, so you will not have to worry about termites or beetles infesting the wood that you treated ever again.

    Can Termidor SC be used in a crawl space below the house?
    A
    Termidor SC should be applied as a trench and in drilled holes on the exterior of the house. You can also trench inside the crawl space and should around any piers also.     How long does Termidor SC take to kill the colony?
    I have carpenter ants coming and going into my house from the yard. And dust, traps and bait crystals don't seem to be working. The only thing that kills on contact is the sprays. I don't want to kill the workers if they are the ones bringing the poison into the nest. But I need to get into the nest to do the killing.

    The amount of time it will take Termidor SC to eliminate a colony of ants will depend on how large the colony is the begin with. It could take weeks. Termidor SC is a non-repellent insecticide that works with a delayed reaction amd also has a transfer effect. That means that ants cannot tell that the Termidor SC is there and will walk right over it and then pick the product up on their bodies and inadvertently carry it back to the colony, then through normal social interaction the ants spread the Termidor and wipe out the colony.

    I noticed a termite line in between windows of a home. Is Termidor SC a good product to treat this?
    It is on the interior of the home where I noticed the lines that look very similar to ant beds. My husband and I own our own business remodeling foreclosed homes and I've seen numerous amount of termites and termite indications before to know what it is. However when I told my grandfather that is what it was and to call a pest control company. The pest control company after looking for maybe 5 minutes on a nearly 2500 sq ft house determined he didn't see any termites and there was no need for worry. However I pointed out to him the spot I first noticed and it's when he said oh this gives me concern and then wanted to have my grandpa pay 1500.00 for a treatment. I said NO! My grandfather assumes I talked the man into saying he has them however I'm positive it is what I saw. So, he's wanting to do a self treatment however we are not sure which product to use considering we are not sure which type of termites he has. Termidor SC or Domininon 2L....please give me your suggestions so we can go from here and purchase. THANKS in advance for your much needed expertise in this matter.

    Termidor SC and Dominion 2L are both great options for termite treatments. The main difference between them is that Termidor SC can last up to 10 years in the soil, while Dominion 2L lasts about 5 years. You will still dig a 6 by 6 inch trench around the structure you are treating. You will pour 4 gallons of solution per 10 lineal feet. Also, make sure that you treat the dirt that you dug up as well.

    I am seeking carpenter ant control. I was told Termidor 1 foot out; 1 foot up.
    Because I have pets, I am reluctant to go one foot out/one foot up. I used to use Ficam W, which seemed to work with just a tiny band sprayed around the foundation.

    Termidor SC is safe for pets if applied when they are not in the area. They can return once the treated surfaces are completely dry.

    Is Termidor SC still good after a year?
    I used this for the first time last summer to deal with Carpenter Ants and it worked fantastic! The opened bottle was stored in our basement this past Midwest winter. I just noticed a few scouts out already and got the bottle and mixed up a batch for some proactive treatment. When I was mixing in my sprayer, I noticed a few little clumps in the sprayer when I added the Termidor to the water. There was no rotten egg smell.

    Termidor SC has approximately a 5 year shelf life when kept out of direct sunlight and out of extreme temperatures.

    The Carpenter ants are entering the home from the outside. Ficam W used to solve the problem quickly. What now?

    We recommend that you treat the exterior of the structure with Termidor SC (1 ft up and 1 ft out) once every six months. We also carry an Indoor Carpenter Ant Kit that offers a non-repellent spray for crevices, a protein bait granule and a bait gel for inside the home.

    How often do I need to spray around the perimeter of my house with Termidor for carpenter ants?
    I have your two kinds of bait and wondering what else to do to prevent carpenter ants from coming back. Your advice and products worked great last year. Just trying to prevent and maintain this year.

    Tomorrow is going to rain, can I apply terminator SC today.
    How long before the rain.

    If you are applying Termidor you want to make sure there is not going to be rain for at least 24 hours after application. If you know it is going to rain within that time frame, you should wait until the rain is passed and will be sunny and dry for a day or two. This applies weather you are doing a general spray around the foundation of the home for ants and other insects, or a termite trench treatment.

    Termidor can only be used in the attic of a home if it is being used to spot treat an active infestation within galleries in wood or within an inaccesible void that the pests are in. Otherwise Termidor is an outdoor use only product.

    Can Termidor be used to treat birch borer (flatbread borer) in living birch trees
    A
    Termidor Sc cannot be used to treat Birch borer. For Birch Borer Youc an use Merit. You will dilute the 1.6 oz pack in at least 10 gallons of water and pour the dilution around the base of the tree. You will need to use 1.6 oz (1 packet) MERIT 75 WSP per 24 to 48 inches of trunk diameter.

    Will Termidor SC kill fire ants?
    A

    If you spray a good barrier around the foundation of the home with Termidor it will technically control any species of ant that would crawl across it. You can treat 1 foot up on the side of the home, and 1 foot out on the ground, as well as around any other entry point for the ants like windows, doors and where pipes or wires enter the home. The ants will walk across the Termidor, pick it up unknowingly, and take it back to the nest to eliminate them at the source.
