Termidor SC should only be applied outside within 1 foot of a house or other structure. You also should not apply Termidor SC near edible plants. We would recommend to keep Termidor applications at least 10 feet from the garden.
Termidor SC should not be applied within 15 feet of bodies of water per the product label. Keep in mind that for most applications, Termidor should only be applied around the foundation of a home or other structure.
Termidor SC needs atleast 24 hours to bond to soil before pouring a concrete slab. You should apply Termidor SC at the rate of 1 gallon per 10 square feet. You should apply slightly more around the perimeter edges and around any plumbing pipes or expansion joints that will be in the slab.
Yes, you would still apply Termidor SC or whatever termiticide you are using in the 6 in x 6 in trench at the standard rate of 4 gallons per 10 linear feet. Where you would apply additional product would be where there are footers, where you would use a termite rod or hollow tube to apply additional product from grade to the top of the footing. Per page 7 of the product label:
When the footing is more than 4 feet below grade, the applicator has the option to either (1) trench and rod to a minimum depth of 4 feet into the trench along the foundation walls or (2) trench alone along the foundation walls to a minimum depth of 4 feet. The actual depth of treatment will vary depending on soil type, degree of compaction, and location of termite activity. When the top of the footing is exposed, the applicator must treat the soil adjacent to the footing to a depth of 4 feet but not to exceed the bottom of the footing. DO NOT treat a structure below the bottom of the footing.
We would NOT recommend using Termidor SC when children are around. Once the product is dry, it is safe for your children to return to the area. Termidor SC normally dries within a matter of hours depending on the temperatures outdoors.
Termidor SC should not harm plants when used as directed. Treatments should be kept within 1 foot of the foundation though.

Drywood termites are all contained in a piece of wood. They do not go back to the ground like subterranean termites. For Termidor to work on drywood termites, you have to drill directly into the piece of wood the termites are in and inject Termidor into the wood. Termidor does not penetrate into wood, so you have to inject it into the center. It has to touch the termites to work, but the benefit is that it only has to contact a few termites, and then they can pass it on to the rest of the colony. To treat for subterranean termites using Termidor, you will need to trench all around the skirt just like you would around a home's foundation, and then you will need to trench around all of the blocks that are holding the trailer up, just like you would a home's piers in a crawlspace.
Termidor SC can only be applied outside around the foundation 1 to 2 feet up and out for general pest control but you would not treat on porous surfaces such as a driveway.. We do have a guide here that can help for getting rid of millipedes. For areas further out in the yard and around the perimeter edges of the driveway you can use something like Talstar P.
Once Termidor SC has dried, it should not be harmful to people, pets or wildlife. It can be toxic for bees if they come in contact with treated areas once it has dried. To lessen this risk, apply in the morning or evening when bees are least active. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.
Fuse Termiticide and Termidor SC are both very good products. They both contain non-repellents so that the pests do not know they are coming in contact with it. Fuse does have two active ingredients, one of them being fipronil, which is in Termidor SC. The other is imidacloprid. Both act in the insects nervous systems, but in different locations. Imidacloprid targets post-synaptic nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in insects, causing over-stimulation of the insects nervous systems. Fipronil acts as a post-synaptic gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) inhibitor, also resulting in over-stimulation of the insects' nervous systems. According to the manufacturer, this product could last up to 8 years in the soil. Termidor SC lasts approximately 10 years in the soil. You will treat the same way with both products as well. FUSE is more labeled for wood infesting ants, such as carpenter ants whereas Termidor is labeled for a wider range of ants, acrobat, Argentine, big-headed, carpenter, crazy, odorous, pavement, pharaoh, thief.
While Termidor SC will kill fleas that contact it, we do not recommend for flea control. Termidor cannot be applied to all the areas needed to treat for fleas. We recommend to treat the kennel with the indoor/outdoor flea kit.
You can water 24 hours after applying Termidor SC.
Termidor SC would be used to directly spot treat the active infestation by drilling into the infested wood and spraying into the gallery directly. Termidor SC does need to be applied directly to soil. If you have concrete up against the foundation around the home you would need to drive every 10-12 inches through it and inject/spray ½ gallon into every hole as outlined in our Prevention guide here
If concrete such as a carport slab or sidewalk is against the foundation in the area where you need to treat, you will be required to drill through the concrete to apply the termiticide solution to the soil. Using the hammer drill with a 1/2" x 18" concrete drill bit, drill holes every 12" into the concrete along the foundation wall.
You are not only drilling through just the concrete here, but also as deep as you can into the dirt. The deeper the better. Once the holes are drilled, you fill at the same rate you did the trench, 4 gallons per 10 feet. If you drilled the holes 12 inches apart, then you would have 10 holes over 10 feet that you are trying to fill with 4 gallons. This works out to be a little less than half a gallon per hole. To fill these I would recommend using the one gallon sprayer on a "pin stream" setting so you can force the liquid down the hole and not splash it everywhere. You can also use a funnel and pour the termiticide down the holes. It is difficult to get 4 gallons per 10 feet in the holes, so it is important that you use a long drill bit, at least 18" long so you can bore out enough dirt to hold the termiticide. Sometimes the ground is slow to soak up the termiticide you place in the holes. You may need to fill the holes, then go work on something else for an hour, come back and fill them again, go work on something else... 3 to 4 times to get the proper amount down the holes. Once the holes are filled all you need to do is patch them with a concrete patch filler you can buy at a home improvement or hardware store or you can use our Trebor plugs that will close the hole with no concrete mess.
If kept out of heat and sunlight the shelf life of Termidor SC is 3-5 years.
Termidor SC is the # 1 choice for ant control around the outside of your home. Termidor SC is a non-repellent insecticide that also has a transfer effect. That means that ants cannot tell that the Termidor SC is there and will walk right over it and then pick the product up on their bodies and inadvertantly carry it back to the colony, then through normal social interaction the ants spread the Termidor SC and wipe out the colony. Termidor SC only needs to be applied two times per year and is effective for a wide variety of insects including ants, centipedes, roaches, spiders, silverfish, wasps and many other nuisance insects.
The trench should be filled back with the soil you removed to create it so that it can be treated and create the area termites will go through to contact the Termidor SC. It will last 10 years or more in the soil.
