    Can you spray termidor sc on the stud in your walls inside the house?
    A
    You can spray Termidor SC on the studs but it will only stay active for 2-6 weeks and it does not penetrate the wood. Termidor SC is not meant to be used to provide long term protection for wood. Boracare is usually chosen if you need to protect the wood for long term control of wood infesting pests. Boracare penetrates into untreated wood and will eliminate current infestations of termites and it will prevent infestations of termites, carpenter ants, powderpost beetles and wood destroying fungus when used as directed on the Product Label.

    What will happen to termites located up in the stud wall after application of Termidor around the house?
    What happens to the termites that are already eating the studs in the wall of my house after application of Termidor around the perimeter of the house? I understand that Termidor works by termites ingesting it and rubbing it among the other termites which in turn kill the colony eventually, but what happens to the ones which are already in the studs up in the wall of the house? Should I not let the tunnels that they have made going up the walls be broken so I let the termites on the ground with Termidor go up the studs to affect the others with Termidor? I was told that after application of Termidor around the perimeter of the house, the ones up in the walls in the studs will eventually die because they are isolated from the colony, that termites can't live if they are isolated from the colony even if they have all the food (the studs).

    Termites that are above the ground in the house when you perform an in ground Termidor treatment will die when they go back down to the ground.  Termites in your walls don't stay there.  Their job is to eat the wood, the colony's food, and then they take it back underground to feed the rest of the colony below the ground where the queen is.  The termites go up and down, up and down, up and down, every day.  So when you perform a liquid termite treatment, the termites that are below the surface that have not made it up into the house yet will take the Termidor on their bodies up into the house and spread it around to all the termites, and vice versa, any termites up in the walls heading down to take what they have eaten down to the queen and other colony members will have to go through the Termidor barrier you installed and they will become infected at that point as well.

    The exterminator left some overspray of Termidor SC in our garage. Should I be concerned?
    While a professional exterminator was drilling and rodding in our garage along two walls, there were at least two holes where he left the rod on as he pulled it out, and it sprayed up our wall and on some of my tools. I'm calling them back to clean it up, but should I be worried about residue on my walls where my kids might come in contact, and the overspray on tools and a canvas bag that it might not get completely cleaned off of? Thank you.

    Termidor SC has a half life of about 6 weeks when sprayed topically. This means that any residual will break down over time and should be gone within about 6 weeks. You should still have the pest control operator thoroughly clean the area as that is what the Termidor SC product label demands when the product has been spilled or sprayed improperly.

    Do I need to drill holes in patio slab if I can pour around the divider between patio and house slab?
    My patio slab is not part of the post-tension slab the house is built on. The divider is a black foam-like material that is loose but cannot be easily pulled out due to overhang of stucco wall directly above. I think I can pour termiticide solution in this slot around the patio perimeter without drilling holes.

    You can do this if you choose, however the reason it is recommended to drill and close the holes is so you can prevent water from getting into the chemical that you apply.  Also, usually the crack between the patio and house slab is not large enough to pour 4 gallons per 10 lineal feet along the house.  If you did use the crack, you need to make sure you can patch it adequately as to not let water down the crack and dilute the chemical, and also you need to make sure you get the 4 gallons per 10 feet down the crack as recommended.

    Would Termidor be suitable for bagworms on evergreen trees?
    Would the chemical be transferred form worm to worm as in the case of transference like the termites and ants do?

    Termidor SC is not labeled to be used in the manner you have described and it would be illegal to use it in such a way. Because Termidor SC does have the ability to be transferred from insect to insect you could potentially wipe out entire honey bee colonies by misusing the product which could be a huge problem for local farmers. The transfer effect that Termidor does have only works for social insects like ants, bees, wasps and termites. We recommend that you choose a product that lists bagworms on the product label such as Talstar P (Talstar P is the product most commonly selected by pros for bagworm control), Thuricide, Mavrik, or Permethrin SFR.     Do I have to drill and treat the wall where the attached garage meets the house?
    House is on slab with attached garage. Also wondering about wood deck directly up against house. Do I treat around deck or have to remove boards up against house so I can treat soil directly against concrete slab?

    The goal is to treat against the foundation around the entire house.  So yes, you should drill the slab in the garage just as if it was a patio slab up against the foundation.  Also, if you are lucky enough to have the boards on your deck running parallel to the house, then you should remove the first 2 or 3 runs so you can trench the ground beneath the deck up against the house.  This does mean a little extra work, but it is the right way to treat your home for termites. Termidor would be a great product to apply.

    Can I spray Termidor on fascia and exposed wood siding?
    I have replaced most of the more damaged fascia, but there are some additional areas that can be repaired with filler. This includes some shiplap wood under eaves. I am in Southern California and my house is mostly stucco, with wood fascia and exposes eaves. Do I need to drill holes in wood or will surface spray be okay?

    Termidor is not a wood treatment product and will not penetrate into wood.  It is meant to be applied to soil.  So spraying Termidor on fascia boards or any other surface will not do much.  If you are trying to take care of termites in wood, then you have to drill holes into the wood and inject the Termidor directly.  It has to come into contact with the termites in the wood to be effective.

    How long before you can eat fruit from tree if Termidor used within 10 feet?
    We had our house treated for termites with Termidor last fall. We have two fruit trees near the house, one 3 feet away and one 7 or 8 feet away. What are the chances that the fruit is contaminated? Is Termidor systemic? Should we discard the fruit this year? Would it be safe next year?

    Want to treat for termites, but some web-sites suggest cannot import Termidor into Australia (issues with Customs) unless a registered pest company.

    What do you have that is safe to spray on the outside walls of a house for ants?
    I have little ants that are climbing and entering the outside walls of my house. I know I can use the sprays on the foundation. Is there something I can put on the stained wood?

    We recommend using a water based insecticide such as Termidor SC. Termidor is the # 1 choice for ant control around the outside of your home. (Termidor SC is for outside use only.) Termidor is a non-repellent insecticide that also has a transfer effect. That means that ants cannot tell that the Termidor is there and will walk right over it and then pick the product up on their bodies and inadvertently carry it back to the colony. Then, through normal social interaction, the ants spread the Termidor and wipe out the colony. Termidor only needs to be applied two times per year and is effective for a wide variety of insects including ants, centipedes, roaches, spiders, silverfish, wasps and many other nuisance insects.

    What do you recommend for a drywood termite infestation on a beam in the garage?
    After inspections by three different companies all have found signs of infestation only in this location, but two of them recommend fumigation, one will do spot treatment with Termidor for a lot of money. What method do you recommend for DIY?

    If this is the only area, then Termidor would be a great choice.  Termidor does not penetrate through wood, so you cannot just apply it on the wood.  The trick is you have to drill holes into the center of the wood and inject it so it touches the termites.  As long as it only touches a few termites it will work.  You will only use a small amount of the Termidor, which is a concentrate, but the product will last for 5 years on the shelf and is also the best product for treating ants around your home as well.

    What are alternative uses of Termidor?
    Is Termidor, when diluted with 1 part Termidor, 1 part Alcohol, and 1 part water, usable as a flea and tick treatment on dogs, cats, etc. applied to the back of the animals? Other than a termite, ant and wood ant, what are the other uses of Termidor?

    There are no alternative used for Termidor.  Termidor is not labeled for use on pets and should not under any circumstances be used than for any uses on the product label.  It is illegal to use a product other than what is stated on the product label.  Termidor is labeled for termites, ants, and other invading insects and is only allowed to be applied as a perimeter barrier around your home.

    Question regarding Termidor use indoors.
    A Licensed pest control professional used Termidor to eliminate ants. Besides around the foundation, he used it in the crawl space and around openings in the kitchen. Are there any problems with this type of application?

    We cannot comment on treatments performed by pest control operators. We can tell you that the Termidor SC product label does allow applications in wall voids only indoors and there are limited applications allowed in crawlspaces. You can read pages 13-15 of the Termidor SC product label to see if the application performed by the pest control operator follows the instructions given by the manufacturer.

    I have severe allergies and fire ants in my kitchen.
    What can I use that will kill the ants and not be harmful to me or my food?
    A
    Chances are that the ants are coming from outside and getting inside the kitchen.  99% of the time ants are nesting outside and coming inside for food or water. The best treatment for ants outside is Termidor, hands down.  It is sort of a liquid bait when used for ants, and any ants that walk over where you spray pick up the Termidor on their bodies and bring the product back to the colony where they spread it around to all other termites, including the queen, and typically within a few days to a week all of the ants will be dead.  Termidor is used around your home like any other pest control product and is applied using a one gallon hand pump sprayer.  You should re-apply every 3 months for optimum ant control.

    Is Termidor safe when you have a well?
    We have a well that is 210 feet under ground. Is it safe to spray Termidor in our yard?
    A
    Termidor is not labeled to spray in the yard, it is only labeled to be applied next to the house as a spray for ants or in the ground for termites.  The rule of thumb is that Termidor can be applied as long as the well is more than 10 feet away from the house.  Termidor is made to bond to soil and not run off, but only when applied as a termite treatment into the ground. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions and precautions.

    Is Termidor SC for killing termites harmful to dogs?

The animals need to be out of the area while the product is being applied and they should not come back into the area until it is dry.     Can Termidor be applied to wet ground if there is no rain prediction?
    It has rained a lot in the past few days and the ground is wet. I discovered termites in the mulched area while trying to plant some shrubs. Is it safe to apply Termidor if no rain is predicted for the next 2 days and the ground is still wet?

    It is fine to apply Termidor even if the ground is still damp as long as no rain is predicted for a day or two after the application.

    Can I use Termidor on a screened porch that my pets have free access to?
    I use Termidor to make a perimeter around my house for ants, roaches, and other general insects. I spray about 3 ft. up and 3 ft. out on the ground. Can I use this the same way in a screened porch that my pets (cats) have free access to or should I use an indoor/outdoor product instead? If I use Termidor, pretty much all of the floor of the porch would be sprayed where the pets walk and sit. I use Suspend to make a perimeter inside the house and could use that instead on the screened porch.

    Termidor SC should not be used in the screened porch as that is considered an "indoor use" which is prohibited on the product label (unless it is used in wall voids). We recommend that you do stick to using the Suspend SC on the screened porch.

    Drilling at a 45 degree angle to gain access under the slab as well as trenching?
    I am told that I need to drill at a 45 degree angle so as to access the area behind the footer and under the slab. I am sure I can do this from inside the house with verticle holes but with carpet installed that is a no go unless I pull back the carpet which is doable. This 45 degree hole will also be done in areas where trenching is also done.

    When using Termidor SC, drilling into the interior of a slab is NOT necessary if you are treating the outside perimeter of the home.  If you are trenching around the outside of the house and drilling through slabs attached to the house, then you do not have to drill interior slabs.  This is clearly stated on the product label.

    How to treat a new home with Termidor?
    We are getting ready go build a new home this fall. Do you recommend treating the entire ground underneath the basement floor before it is poured? Will the termidor sc be just as effective if we put it in the trench around the footing of the basement which will be 10 ft deep or must the termidor sc be applied to a trench that is only 6 inches deep? Is it necessary to treat our entire area of land that the house will sit on as an old house was there before?

    If you are building a home you should treat the ground before any footings or slabs are poured.  This is because you will never have the opportunity again to treat underneath slabs.  When treating these areas, you are supposed to apply 1 gallon of Termidor per 10 square feet.  Treat all areas that will have a slab poured including basements, patios, porches, and garage slabs.  Then, when the house is completed and all grade levels have been placed next to the house, you should do a 6 inch trench and treat around the home as well.  This is the proper way to treat a new construction home.
