The Andersons 21-3-8 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide is not labeled to control dollarweed. It offers residual control of a wide variety of susceptible weeds and it works by preventing germination of weed seeds and stop them from developing.

Unfortunately, we do not have the spreader settings for that specific combo, and since the manufacturer does not list that spreader on The Anderson's 21-3-8 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide bag we are unsure what the exact setting would be. Due to the thousands of granules on the market and just as many different types of spreaders, there isn't a master list that exists. You may want to try calling the manufacturer of your spreader or the chemical itself directly, to see if anyone on their staff has that info. The Anderson's 21-3-8 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide is a dry granule you apply with a spreader. Complete instructions are on the label here in PDF format. Rates vary depending on your turfgrass type and program you are following (ie split applications or single). Treats 13,800 sq. ft. (0.32 acre) at the 155 lbs. product/acre. Treats 12,500 sq. ft. (0.29 acre) at the 174 lbs. product/acre. Treats 9,200 sq. ft. (0.21 acre) at the 235 lbs. product/acre.

The Anderson's 21-3-8 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide is a pre emergent and should be applied prior to the germination of weeds as this will not control actively growing weeds. For the best timing recommendation, we would recommend contacting your Cooperative Extension Office for their recommendations on the best time to apply in your area for the best results.

The Anderson's 21-3-8 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide is not labeled for dandelion. You may want to look into Dimension 2EW. It is a pre emergent like barricade, but is labeled for dandelion and many other types of broadleaf weeds. The ideal time to apply a fall pre-emergent herbicide like Dimension 2EW Herbicide to your yard is between August and November when the soil temperature is below 70 degrees and dropping. You may contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region or search online for best time to apply in (your area). A lot of universities have great articles for this.
After applying The Anderson's 21-3-8 Fertilizer with Barricade Herbicide, you should keep people and pets out of the area until dry. Typically 4-6 hours after watering in.
