Works for trap-leery cats too!

Big, sturdy trap. We've been trying to trap a large feral male Balinese to get him neutered but he would never go into the smaller traps. This trap was put out and he walked right into it! He even seemed calm, although he is quite feral. The only negative is that we filed down the rough ends of the metal. Where they are cut off some were quite sharp.

Quality trap that gets the job done!
By Mike on 07/06/2018
Once the local raccoons discovered our cat door, I had to take action. Trapped one of my problem coons the same night I received the trap. Trapped the Moby Dick of raccoons a few days later, then a fox! Trial cam hasn't picked up any more activity in my back yard. Now I can leave my cat door open again at night. I did all of this before the animal control people even called me back about borrowing one of their traps. Problem solved!

Excellent Trap!!

This is my second Mod. #609 trap purchased from DoMyOwn. First one was over a year ago and I've put it through the test with effectiveness, ease of use, and weather resistance. Gets an A++ on all of it. Big raccoons are no problem. Biggest problem is every cat in the neighborhood has to test it out at least once. - - And no visible rust anywhere yet. (Inland Pacific Northwest climate)

Excellent trap. Caught a big, chicken eating, raccoon with it. . . . AFTER several neighborhood cats. Holds up well to the weather here where we live in the Inland Northwest. .. DoMyOwn was about the best price I could find for this trap and delivery was fast. Thanks

might be a little small for the coyotes. The Tomahawk Rigid Trap Model 110A (Sm Dog Coyote sized animals) would work betters.
Can this trap be used for a smal-med feral pig?
Tomahawk Rigid Live Trap X Large Model 609 (Raccoon & Woodchuck sized animals) is for Raccoon, Woodchuck, Feral Cat-sized animals, so I am not sure if it would withstand a small pig.
You can try contacting the manufacturer to see if they could provide a better answer to that question.

I am planning on purchasing a trap large enough to catch larger raccoons. However, in the event one catches an unintended critter like a skunk, how does one go about releasing it from the catch location without getting close enough to get sprayed? I ws looking for a trap that allows you to attach a heavy string to pull from a distance to open trap door. I have not seen any reference to this type situation with a skunk.
When you use the Tomahawk Rigid Live Trap X Large Model 609 (Raccoon & Woodchuck sized animals), you will want to throw a tarp or cover of the trap and reach in with gloved hands to release it. Then we recommend moving quickly away from the trap.
