The Trelona ATBS Direct Bait Stations should be placed 15 feet apart. The maximum interval between any two bait stations should not exceed 20 feet.
Trelona ATBS Direct Bait Stations should be installed in the soil with a couple of inches extra below the station to allow for drainage.
Trelona ATBS Direct Bait Stations should be placed 2-4 feet away from the foundation, but not directly under the drip line from the roof of the structure.
According to page 4 of the Trelona Bait Station label, if termites are not present or there has been excessive decay or moisture to the bait station, it will need to be replaced after 60 days. If you remove the bait station, it is recommended to replace the bait station with a monitoring station.
Termite Baiting Stations such as the Trelona ATBS Direct Bait Stations must be installed in the ground around the structure that you are wanting to protect. You cannot use them on a boat, dock, or other floating property. Keep in mind that we can only ship within the US and make recommendations for use in the US.
We recommend changing the bait in the Trelona ATBS Direct Bait Stations when the bait has been consumed three-quarters of the way, or annually - whichever comes first. That would also be the same for the wood monitoring bases that are in these stations as well. You can find replacement bait cartridges here, and replacement wood monitoring bases here.
Trelona ATBS Direct Bait Stations only comes in the kit of 16. If you need more you can buy additional stations (with monitoring cartridge and woodbase) and the bait separately and just replace the monitoring cartridge with the bait cartridge.
Trelona ATBS Direct Bait Stations should only be used for termite prevention. If you have an active infestation of subterranean termites, the trenching method with Taurus SC is the recommended method of treatment for an active infestation.
Trelona ATBS Direct Bait Stations do not specify how far from a lake it can be used. Label states not to be used near bodies of water and unfortunately there is no way of knowing if it would ever overflow. You may also contact BASF at 800.547.4101 in regards to this.
