Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide should only be used outside the dripline of desirable trees and plants.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide should not be applied to tomato plants and neither can the clippings treated with the product.
Per page 3 of the product label of Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide, adding spray additives such as adjuvents or tank mixtures may alter the selectivity of the herbicide and may increase the likelihood that you will injust desirable plants. Drive XLR8 should always be applied with an appriopriate surfactant, preferably one with methylated seed oil, such as Dyneamic Surfactant. Please refer to the product label for complete instructions. It would probably be best to apply these herbicides separately, however, we would recommend that you do a small compatibility test mixture before applying herbicides together that are not specifically recommend on the product labels. We would also suggest you test a small area of turf before applying both herbicides so that you do not cause excessive injury to your desirable plants.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide states on the product label that certain spray tank additives(adjuvants, wetting agents, surfactants) and tank mixtures containing emulsifiable concentrates may reduce the selectivity on the turfgrass and that you should not do so unless your experience indicates that the tank mixture will not result in turf injury. Based on this information we would not recommend to mix a surfactant or Dimension (which is an emulsifible concentrate) with the Trimec. Most pre-emergent herbicides also state that you cannot reseed within 4 months of application as it could inhibit the growth of the seed.
It is not recommended to use herbicides in hose end sprayers. The problem with using the hose end sprayer for the Trimec 992 application is that they are not very accurate and you can wind up dispensing more/less product than needed in a given area which can lead to less than desirable results.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is pet safe when used as directed. Pets and people need to be kept away from the treated area during application and until everything is fully dry. Once everything is dry, it is fine to resume normal activity. If pets chew on the grass, it won’t harm them once dry.
Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is not labeled to treat for moss. We would recommend a product like Lilly Miller Moss Out for Lawns Concentrate instead.
