WHEN AND HOW TO USE:

These directions for use and application rates are based on generally accepted horticultural practices and do not take into account all of the varietal environmental, and agronomic variables which may be encountered by the professional landscape operator, for whom this product is intended. These directions are not intended as a substitute for good professional judgment and are intended to serve as a general reference only.

SURFACE APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Wash off any plant food that gets onto foliage of plants. Measure product by weight or volume using an old measuring cup, canning jar, or similar container, which should not be reused for food purposes.

Woody Ornamentals/Shrubs: Broadcast 1 - 2 lbs. per 100 sq. ft. (10 x 10 ft.) of the area beneath the spread of the branches to just beyond. Use the low rate for Azaleas and similar species and for established plantings that are near the desired size. Use the high rate for young plantings where growth is desirable. Use twice per year, in spring 2 - 4 weeks after Azaleas are in full bloom, and in fall just after deciduous trees lose their leaves. Water thoroughly after applying.

Shade, Fruit and Nut Trees: Use 0.7 lb. per 100 sq. ft. (10 x 10 ft.) of the area beneath the tree limb's spread. For younger trees (2 in. trunk diameter or less), spread product evenly. At planting mix with the soil in an area just outside the hole dug for planting, avoiding the hole area itself. After planting work product into soil with light raking. For more mature trees, bore 6 - 8 inch deep holes in the ground with a crowbar or some pointed object at three foot intervals around the tree in a circle just below the edge of the branches (at the dripline). Divide the product to be applied so that each hole gets roughly the same amount, then fill in the holes with soil. Feed in early spring to early summer preferably before growth starts and in the fall after leaves drop.

Evergreens: Feed cone-bearing trees and non-flowering evergreen shrubs in the spring after danger of killing frost is past. For bed plantings apply 0.7 lb. per 100 sq. ft. (10 x 10 ft.). For mature trees, apply 0.7 lb. per 100 sq. ft. under the branches; work product into soil with light raking.

Foliage Plants and Flowers: Use 0.7 lb. per 100 sq. ft. and work well into soil before planting. Thereafter, apply every 12 - 16 weeks throughout the growing season mixing into the top soil and being careful not to disturb roots. Other nutrients such as phosphorous and potassium may need to be applied more frequently than 12 - 16 weeks.

Turf: Apply 7.0 lb. per 1,000 sq. ft. to dry foliage. Water in after application with a minimum of 0.2 inches to help move particles into the turf canopy. Do not collect clippings for at least one mowing following application to avoid particle pick-up. Repeat every 12 - 16 weeks throughout the growing season or as often as the turf requires feeding. Other nutrients such as phosphorous and potassium may need to be applied more frequently than 12 - 16 weeks.

Growing Media Incorporation: This product may be incorporated into nursery growing media, but recommendations are impractical within the scope of this bulletin due to the various plant species, media types and climates involved. We suggest the grower determine the optimum rates for the particular crops being grown.
