  • Asked by Patrick from Princeton Junction

    Q
What is the expiration for Turf Mark Blue Spray Indicator Dye?
    A

In theory, Turf Mark Blue Spray Indicator Dye would have an indefinite shelf life since it does not contain any active ingredients. However, you shouldn't store it in any location where it is exposed to the sun as the UV rays would impact it in the jug the same way they do on the lawn to help break down the color. It's also possible the saturation could diminish over time and you may need to use more the longer you have it to achieve the same level of color when spraying.

    Q
Can Turf Mark Blue be mixed with a herbicide and diesel fuel?
    A

While we do not see any reason as to why Turf Mark Blue could not be combined with herbicides and diesel fuel, the product label does not indicate if this permitted. We recommend contacting Becker & Underwood directly at 800-232-5907 for clarification.

    Q
Will Turf Mark Blue Spray Indicator Dye stain leather? Accidentally sprayed some on my leather boots and wondering how to get the dye out?
    A

Turf Mark Blue Spray Indicator Dye may leave a permanent stain on certain surfaces such as concrete, plastic, vinyl, carpet and other surfaces. If accidental overspray occurs, wash the surface immediately with soap and water to reduce any potential staining. The product label does not specifically mention fabric or leather surfaces therefore we would recommend reaching out to the manufacturer to see if they may have a faster remedy.

    Q
After spraying wood with a BoraCare + Turf Mark Blue solution, can I paint over the stained wood or will the blue dye leak through the paint over time?
Will be treating roof trusses and stud walls of exterior garage with Boracare and Turf Mark Blue, but then paint it all white. Need some advice on whether that will be possible.
    A

Yes, wood can be painted after an application of Turf Mark Blue Spray Indicator Dye and Bora-Care. Q
Is Turf Mark Blue Spray Indicator Dye safe for horse pasture?
I read through the questions and see that someone already asked what my question is. Your response was to call Becker & Underwood and ask them. So I called and they said I have to ask the seller of the product. So can you find out if it is safe to use in a pasture that horses will graze on?
    A

Turf Mark Blue Spray Indicator Dye is not really labeled to be used in a pasture but per the manufacturer, it should be safe. Although it's not a normal use area for the product, for it to be completely safe, they suggest keeping the livestock off the treated areas with Turf Mark Blue for at least 48 hours.

Can you paint over wood treated with Bora-Care mixed with Turf Mark Blue?
    A

Turf Mark Blue Spray Indicator Dye treated wood can be painted over once the surface is dried. However, the Turf Mark Blue will leave a permanent stain on that wood, so your paint may not be able to cover it up.
