Victor Mouse Trap MO4O

A good feeding dish but poor/ineffective trap.
By Bruce on 10/25/2019
I bought six (6) of these Victor Mouse Trap M040. Total waste of money. They are great as a substitute food dish if you want to feed mice, but there is a design flaw in the stay bar catch mechanism where the mice are able to eat the bait without releasing the trap bar. Several attempts to adjust it (make it more sensitive to a mouse eating at the bait) all failed. Don't waste your time and money on this trap. You will be disappointed. I recommend the M325 Pro. A far better choice.

M040 Mouse Trap
By Anonymous on 06/23/2013
The mice seem to avoid getting caught in the mouse traps with the big yellow piece of plastic where you put the peanut butter which is weird. The trap in this picture works great with the metal bait holder. Unfortunately, the traps that I received were NOT the same trap in this picture. :-(

Worked like a charm
By Jill on 11/12/2006
I live on a farm. My hobby is to go out every day and get the hay for my loving animals. See, I had no problem with this, until I saw at least 20 mice scurrying around my hay stacks! They would burrow into them, and before you knew it, there isn't 20, but 50 in my hay! The horses and my other animals would eat them without knowing, and they would get terribly sick because of it! I then found the Victor Mouse Trap. That baby worked like a charm, and I now have no mouse problems, Thank you Victor Mouse Trap!

ONLY way to go
By M.b. on 10/23/2008
Thees Victor Mouse Traps are the ONLY way to go, as all the competitors' traps are not worth the trouble to buy and carry home. We have had Tom-Kat traps (ain't worth a darn) and some of the others on the market, and we keep going back to the "old standard", VICTOR, as it is the only trap that catches mice! Hard to find locally, so we are ordering via the Internet.

GREAT mouse trap!
By Eric on 07/25/2010
I've tried other types of snap traps, glues, bait boxes – nothing comes close to the simple Victor trap (I've tried the yellow Victor traps and didn't like them as much, they're too sensitive). With glues the mice usually end up alive, peeping in pain, it's awful. With baits the mouse ends up dying somewhere and smelling up the place. These snap traps are a quick kill with a very high mortality rate. I've had a few super speedy mice escape the trap, but this is very rare. Put a little peanut butter on it, mice can't resist it.

A Sweet Good-bye to Mice
By Sue on 09/13/2010
I have had a mouse problem for ages... with them coming and going, especially during the winter in my attic. I've tried peppermint and all kinds of different traps, but I could still hear them. I finally decided that the old-fashioned trap was the answer, so I purchased the Victor trap with the little yellow plastic cheese type of plate. I baited it with peanut butter the first few times I used it, only to find the trap licked clean but not sprung. I even tried threading salami and bacon through the little holes in the "cheese." Again, the bait was eaten but the trap not sprung. I then decided that I was tired of feeding these mice and read the reviews for the M040 Victor traps on your website and bought a dozen. By this time, I had found droppings in my kitchen! I followed the instructions about setting several traps, not just one. Well, I put the second trap down near my fridge and turned away to put one on the cellar steps. I hadn't taken two steps toward the basement, when I heard the fridge trap snap! Success! I set a few more down in the basement and the next morning I had gotten another one. The rest of the traps have not been sprung and I haven't seen or heard a mouse since. These Victors are the BEST!

Cheap and still the best
By Chris on 09/13/2010
I have used these for years. They just work, and can be re used many times. They are getting hard to find, over the more "high tech" or "pre baited" (Don't work) snappers, and glue or poison. I opt out of poison for a home, since the rodent can die in the walls (pew) and glue can take days to kill (cruel)The only problem is that kids and other disturbances can set them off, and effective baiting takes a little practice. Why re-invent the wheel? Great trap and dirt cheap! Thanks for the very speedy service.

Victor M040 is a Stone Cold Killer
By Steve on 11/04/2010
This is it, the single best mousetrap on the market. Buy a bunch and deploy them all. You can tune the trigger tongue for maximal sensitivity... to get even the most clever mice. These work. I had a couple of very sneaky city mice that were just too smart for the crummy new-style traps. I got a kill on night one with these, and got a mouse a night for a week afterward. The infestation is now over, thanks to the effectiveness of these traps.

Mouse traps not available locally
By Lynda on 11/19/2010
We were VERY pleased to be able to order these traps online. We had a mouse outbreak in the neighborhood and only had OLD traps -- not sensitive enough and were being "robbed" regularly. When I ordered from another company closer, the items were back ordered. With the help of Google, we found this company further away, but they shipped our order quickly. We are very thankful for such efficient service! Mice are now gone..........

Go with the pro
By Harrold on 01/19/2011
I've been using the traditional Victor mouse traps for years and just recently tried the Pro model. I strongly recommend the Pro model, it's the one with the plastic yellow bait holder and is easier to set. I've tried Tomcat and Pic traps, but they're not sensitive enough. The mouse either gets the bait or gets brutally injured and then I have to kill it to put it out of it's misery. I'm having a 100 percent kill rate with these traps. It's the most cost effective way to deal with minor to moderate mouse problems especially if you have pets. I don't like poison because the mouse dies and you don't know where it is. It could be stinking up the place and you'll never find it.

Victor Mouse Trap M040
By Joe on 03/07/2011
This is the best mouse trap on the market. I have been trying to catch a few mice over the period of about 2 months with no success using glue boards. Put out the Victor trap and in 5 days I have caught all the little critters.
