DESCRIPTION:Victor mouse traps work very well and kill mice instantly. Snap traps work best when baited with sticky bait (i.e. peanut butter) to ensure that the mouse will disturb the trigger mechanism even if the mouse touches the bait only lightly. 12 traps.
HOW TO SET THE TRAP:
1. Remove small staple holding locking bar to wood base.
2. Place bait inside curl found at end of bait pedal. Remove excess bait protruding from pedal.
3. Pull back bow and hold down with thumb.
4. With other hand, engage curved portion of the locking bar under small, V-shaped lip on bait pedal.
5. Place trap against wall with bait pedal facing the wall.
6. If trap draws ants, try using a small ball of cotton or strands of dental floss tied through hole in bait pedal curl.
How to Use VICTOR Mouse Traps Effectively:
Most trapping efforts fail because too few mouse traps or rat traps are used. You'll probably need more traps then you think. Set enough traps to kill most of the population before the rodents begin to shy away from the traps. We recommend placing the traps every 2-3 feet along a wall, with the trap placed perpindicular to the wall. Rodents enter a home through holes the size of a dime and run along walls, not over open spaces.
1. Place victor mouse traps perpendicular to the wall.
2. Place victor mouse traps out unset, without bait, for a few days (even 1-2 weeks) so rodents can become familiar with them.
3. Place traps where rodent activity is seen (sign of chewing, droppings, runway, burrow).
4. Leave victor mouse traps undisturbed for at least two days before moving to a new location.
5. Check traps daily and replace as needed.
6. Wear gloves when disposing of rodent.
Baits: These baits are favorites for mice and rats:
Mouse Bait: Peanut Butter, Cheese, Oats, Nesting Materials, Chocolate, Water (for live catch)
Rat Bait: Peanut Butter, Bacon, Fruits, Vegetables, Cereals, Meats, Acorns (Wood Rat)
ONLY way to go
By M.b. on 10/23/2008
Thees Victor Mouse Traps are the ONLY way to go, as all the competitors' traps are not worth the trouble to buy and carry home. We have had Tom-Kat traps (ain't worth a darn) and some of the others on the market, and we keep going back to the "old standard", VICTOR, as it is the only trap that catches mice! Hard to find locally, so we are ordering via the Internet.

Tactics and VICTORy!
By Hugh on 12/29/2012
I recently had an annoying experience catching some lucky little pests, I have to say lucky with a little conferred intelligence to the rodents. I placed baited glue boards (banana scented) along a wall where the pest traveled (droppings were clues) and I saw the mouse walk AROUND them to hide behind some cabinets. I then used the snap traps I am endorsing here first baited with cheese (not big chunks mind you but globs pressed heavily on to the metal trigger so the pest could set off the trap). Nothing. No response. Found out that the mouse found another food source - had a stash of rice in a dark nook of a cabinet. I removed the food source and cleaned up the mess and stuffed and sealed any possible other entry points (cracks) with the copper mesh they sell here and some concrete or wood patch where necessary. Four days passed with very little activity until I saw "evidence" of its existence one Thursday morning. I was fed up. I added three more snap traps this time baited with peanut butter and a drop of vanilla extract and made sure there was no food of any kind available. Later that same day I heard VICTORy! The tactics of corraling and starvation worked and the little emaciated pest was tossed and a few hours later another was caught as well and I have not seen any since - that was two weeks ago from the time of this post. I ordered 'Provoke' just in case the other tactics didn't work so I have it just in case. I must thank the poster who suggested adding vanilla.

Worked like a charm
By Jill on 11/12/2006
I live on a farm. My hobby is to go out every day and get the hay for my loving animals. See, I had no problem with this, until I saw at least 20 mice scurrying around my hay stacks! They would burrow into them, and before you knew it, there isn't 20, but 50 in my hay! The horses and my other animals would eat them without knowing, and they would get terribly sick because of it! I then found the Victor Mouse Trap. That baby worked like a charm, and I now have no mouse problems, Thank you Victor Mouse Trap!

M040 Mouse Trap
By Anonymous on 06/23/2013
The mice seem to avoid getting caught in the mouse traps with the big yellow piece of plastic where you put the peanut butter which is weird. The trap in this picture works great with the metal bait holder. Unfortunately, the traps that I received were NOT the same trap in this picture. :-(

I'm using the Victor Mouse Traps. The smart mice I have (in my basement) seem to be able to remove the peanut butter from the yellow plastic flap. This has happened several times. The traps are sensitive enough that they go off if I try to slide them a couple of inches to the wall. What do you suggest?

I have a drop ceiling in my basement and I hear noises possibly mice. there was an infestation once before and it was resolved, I have set glue traps and bait stations. I have not gotten anything. I was just wondering what I should look for, what are the tell tale signs? What do they eat?
