Vole Scram is applied either with a broadcast spreader or by hand with the provided scoop in beds, mulch or rough grass. If it is used as directed, it will work.
For Northern Snowfall Regions: In early September/Octorer, apply a 20 foot band to the perimeter of the property where the voles nest during the summer months. This will reduce them from entering the property. With your second application, which is done in 14 days after first application, prior to snowfall. A third application should be done in early spring/late winder immediately after snow melts.

We would recommend doing one or the other depending on your personal preference. Since they are already there, using bait may be the best option if you know where their tunnels are. Kaput Rat & Mouse Bait imitates the natural food source for rodents voles by being manufactured as a loose grain. Open pack and load one ounce (half of a pack) of bait into each bait station. Situate bait stations near runways, burrow openings or plants that voles have been damaging. Maintain a fresh supply of bait for 15 days. Use a tamper-resistant bait station when children, pets, or non-target wildlife are present.
If voles have currently infested the yard, you have options for treatment with either using a repellent like Vole Scram Professional or by using a rodent bait in tamper resistant bait stations where there are active tunnels. This is based on personal preference. For large or higher vole populations, baiting may be more effective to knockdown the population before using a repellent. Baiting with Kaput Rat & Mouse Bait in tamper resistant bait stations would be recommended near near runways, burrow openings or plants that voles have been damaging. This bait is a loose grain bait that imitates the natural food source for rodent voles. Maintain a fresh supply of bait for 15 days.
Vole Scram Professional will alter the smell and taste of soil and vegetation to taste bad therefore changes the voles’ normal environment to drive them out of the infested areas. The natural ingredients in the repellent will coat vegetation and food sources with a bad taste.
