Safety Products

Please be sure to read the product label of any insecticide you choose to use to get information on the personal protective safety gear you will need. In most situations, it is recommended that you wear long pants, a long sleeved shirt, closed toe shoes with socks, chemical resistant gloves, and goggles. In areas where ventilation is poor, a manufacturer may recommend you wear a mask or a respirator. We have put together two different safety kits that will make selecting the correct safety gear easier for you.

How to Care for My Pet's Teeth

Keep Your Pets Teeth Clean and Healthy With These Products

By DoMyOwn staff

Pet owners know, keeping their dog or cat's teeth clean and breath fresh can be difficult! Fortunately, there are several products available that can do both.

Just as with humans, maintaining teeth and gums will improve the health of your pet and can prevent costly vet bills. Read below to learn how to keep your pet's teeth healthy and clean.

Toothbrush and Toothpaste

Dogs especially can benefit from having their teeth brushed at least once a week with toothpaste designed specifically for dogs. The toothpaste is typically flavored to make the experience more enjoyable for your furry friend and toothbrushes are designed to fit your dog's mouth. Finger toothbrushes can also be helpful for getting into the back of the mouth, the tongue, and other hard-to-reach areas.

Oral Care Liquids

Oral care liquids are liquids formulated with nutrients to help a dental issue. The liquids are added to your pet's water bowl and are tasteless, so pets don't know they're helping their teeth while they hydrate!

Examples of oral care liquids include tartar control and breath freshener. Be sure to read the instructions on the bottle for information on how much oral care liquid a pet can consume in a day and how long the liquid is needed.

Chewing Bones and Toys

The simplest way to get your dog or cat's teeth clean is to have them clean their teeth themselves! By chewing on nylon bones and special toys, pets will naturally clean their teeth while avoiding chewing on furniture, shoes, and other non-pet friendly items.

Neem Bark

Pet owners interested in natural and organic solutions for their pets may turn to neem bark. Neem bark is a powder added to the pet's food to help support healthy teeth and gums. Neem bark also assists with digestion and stomach health. As a bonus, it can be given to cats and dogs of all ages.

Tooth and Gum Wipes

If your pet can't stand having their teeth brushed and is not interested in toys, tooth and gum wipes may be a smart alternative product to get their teeth clean. The wipes contain baking soda to help remove plaque and whiten teeth, plus peppermint and other powerful ingredients to freshen breath and fight bacteria.

Be sure to read the label of all products before use to be sure the product is labeled for your pet's species and age. Some products are compatible for dogs and cats and some can only be consumed or used by one or the other.
