The Crystal Blue lake and pond product was used in an above ground pool. It seems to be turning black, but the filter is running.
Per Sanco the manufacturer, their Crystal Blue Pond Cleaner is not designed to be used in pools and has only been tested in ponds. That being said, they also said that its only a natural bacteria in the product and there would be no harm to anyone swimming in the pool it was used in as its safe to swim in ponds used by it. The bacteria is designed to break down muck and algae in ponds to get the pond cleaner. They are unsure why the pool would be changing to black but their best guess is it may be reacting to the chlorine or other chemicals used in the pool. If the filter does not get the black color to go away over time then you may want to contact the company that used the chemical in your pool to help you get it back to a normal color.
