When is the optimal time to apply Barricade in Raleigh, NC to prevent poa annua germination in fescue?

I plan to overseed my fescue lawn in late August. Poa Annua has become a bigger nuisance each year. It's my understanding that Poa begins germinating in the fall in this area. How long after overseeding should I wait before applying Barricade? Are there other products that would be safer/more effective to use on Fescue in preventing Poa germination?

Answer:

You may contact your local cooperative extension office to determine the correct timing of the application as this will vary greatly from region to region.
 
Pendimethalin products like Pendulum 2G Granular Herbicide are the most recommended to use in the fall.  Some poa annua strains are showing resistance to Prodiamine (Barricade) so it is not highly recommended.
