Fahrenheit Herbicide is not labeled to be used around ornamentals, landscape beds, flowers, etc for weed control therefore would not be recommended to use around heliconia plants. We would recommend hand pulling weeds or carefully spot treat weed directly with a non selective herbicide such as Roundup QuickPRO. Non chemical methods for weed control is to apply a thick layer of organic mulch around the base of the plant, which helps suppress weed growth while also retaining moisture in the soil. Consult your County Cooperative Extension Office for their recommendations on weed control around heliconia plants.
