Will RPR do well in a hot climate?

I live in the panhandle of Florida and am considering purchasing the seed. I have an excellent sprinkler system. Will that be enough to overcome the high temperatures and keep this grass green

Answer:

RPR with Yellow Jacket is ideal for cool-season zones. This can be used in southern states as a winter overseed; however, it's a perennial ryegrass, so depending on location, it may have a tendency to persist into the high temperatures and may not be desirable.
