Turf Star RPR with Yellow Jacket is a professional turf used for a golf course, multi-use sports fields, lawns, parks, and recreational facilities. A mixture of 65% RPR Patented Technology and 35% Premium Perennial Ryegrass variety. Highly recommended for its extreme wear tolerance and ability to recover thin and damaged turf. May be used during the cool and warm season and still maintain its quality and dark green color. Turf Star RPR with Yellow Jacket has high resistance and tolerance for diseases and insects. With its rapid germination and quick establishment, it has excellent endurance for heavy traffic and other challenges for turfgrass. Available in a 10 lb and 25 lb bag.
Turf Star RPR with Yellow Jacket is coated with Yellow Jacket Enhanced Seed Coating. Yellow Jacket is like having a sponge around each and every seed. Once water is applied, the coating holds that moisture and other nutrients around the seed - making them available as needed for germination and establishment. Without coating, the water simply passes the seed allowing it to dry out, resulting in more frequent watering and increased expense.

If your looking for a grass seed that gives you that golf course look and feel I highly recommend Barenbrug Turf Star RPR with Yellow Jacket. It's Extremely fast germinating and quick to establish, grass grew extremely well within 7 days. It has excellent traffic tolerance and recovery along with the ability to recover from extreme wear and use. Strong disease resistance and insect tolerance too. This is the absolute best grass seed I have ever use and will now be using Barenbrug Turf Star RPR with Yellow Jacket exclusively on my lawn from now on.

Great looking grass that handles foot traffic well

Did a lot of research for best grass for my area (Pacific NW) and this was one of them. The product grows fast and tall but you can cut it extremely short. Mowing with a reel mower makes it look amazing. Just remember, only get this if you plan to mow 2 - 3 times a week.

Best Seed for Beginners

My lawncare knowledge went from 0-60 when I started in April of 2021. I knew nothing beyond knowing how to mow and even that I didn't understand what a proper mow was. FF to late summer/early fall, after armyworms destroyed 50% of my backyard before I even knew what an armyworm was and how to get rid of them. How was I, a total novice going to pull off an overseeding project? Thanks to RPR, my project was a stunning success far beyond my expectations. It's December 10, 2021 today and I have the greenest, healthiest looking grass on the entire street! I have now stocked up on Barenbrug RPR and Barenbrug Turf Blue Pro KBG for the 2022 season to be ready for anything - armyworms, dog pee, thin and bald spots, overseeding after leveling, fall overseeding, etc.

The Turf Star RPR with Yellow Jacket is 65% RPR (Regenerating Perennial Ryegrass) and 35% Premium Perennial Ryegrass. There is no weed seed percentage listed in this professional quality grass seed.

I have an area in the backyard that is shaded may be 2-3 hrs of sun light. I like in cool season grass area (WA). Can this work?

These types of grasses will usually be found in the North part of the country. You can contact your local extension office to see if they advise growing it in your region.
