Will Southern Ag Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec kill chickweed, doveweed, tropical signal, and crabgrass in Celebration Bermuda located in Central Florida?

Located in sunny Central Florida and with rain comes whole bunch of weeds Is there a product that will kill them in Celebration Bermuda? Would love high concentration of 2-4-D

Answer:

Southern Ag Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec is a selective broadleaf herbicide only. This is not going to kill grassy weeds like crabgrass and tropical signalgrass. Tropical signalgrass is difficult to control due to the creeping stems that can spread more aggressively. There are many post emergent herbicide options for “broadleaf signalgrass” but are not labeled for “tropical signalgrass”. Tribute Total Herbicide is the only product we know of specifically labeled for tropical signalgrass but will also control crabgrass, chickweed and doveweed however tends to be too expensive for what homeowners are wanting to spend.

For the control of chickweed, doveweed, crabgrass and many other broadleaf/grassy weeds in bermuda, Blindside WDG Herbicide with a Non Ionic Surfactant would be recommended and spot treating the areas of tropical signalgrass with a non selective like Roundup QuickPRO. Any bare spots can be reseeded after 2 weeks.  Applying a pre emergent in early spring and late fall is going to help prevent weeds from germinating and reduce weeds during the warmer summer months.
