Will Tempo Dust work on trees for yellow jackets?

I have a couple of crape myrtle trees outside my door but one of them has at least 25-50 yellow jackets on it/flying around it all day. I live on an acre wooded lot, thus not knowing where the nests are. Would the dust be effective or should I try something else?

Answer:

The dust will not harm the trees, but the yellow jackets will only be affected if they land on the dust that is applied on the tree.  Dust is typically meant to be applied in cracks and crevices and openings to the nest of the bees/yellow jackets/wasps.  When applied to a tree it will be exposed to the weather and can be washed away by rain or blown away by wind.  If yellow jackets is your main issue and you do not know where the nest is, we recommend our yellow jacket baiting system.  The yellow jackets will take a bait that you provide mixed with the insecticide, Onslaught in the kit, and take it back to the nest wherever it may be and spread the product around killing the nest.
