Cheryl from Cincinnati writes

Will Tordon RTU work on hack berry tree sprouts?

Answer:

Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is labeled to target the following woody plants: ailanthus, alder, aspen, birch, cedar, cherry, dogwood, elm, firs, green ash, gum, hawthorn, hickory, hornbeam, maples, oaks, pecan, persimmon, serviceberry, sourwood and sweetbay. It does not specifically state Hackberry-Silver Maple Saplings on the label, however it has Maples in general in trees covered. If the root system is hearty, you will want to cut the saplings down as low to the ground and you can get them. Once cut, immediately apply the brush killer either by spraying it on, or paint it on undiluted. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
