    Q
Is Propoconazole, Azoxy and Clearys a good rotation for gray leaf spot on St. Augustine in southwest Florida in the summer? Are any of them unsafe if it's too hot?
    A

Yes, Clearys 3336F Fungicide, Propiconazole and Azoxy would be good choices for treating Gray Leaf Spot, as they are all from a different class or mode of action.  Please read and follow each labels instructions.   It is always important to keep in mind that any herbicides will create stress on the lawn. In general, you do not want to make applications when high temperatures (over 85 degrees), drought, disease, or similar conditions are causing stress on the lawn.

  • Asked by Ed from Boca Raton, Florida
    10/02/2018
    Q
What is a good rotation partner to use with Clearys 3336F Fungicide for junipers with tIp blight?
I am treating several groupings of Parsoni Juniper which are exhibiting Juniper Tip Blight (phomopsis or kabatina fungus). I believe that multiple treatments will be required and I am wondering what a good rotation treatment (alternative to Clearys 3336F fungicide) would be.
    A

To treat for Tip Blight with Clearys 3336 you can use Propiconazole and Chlorothalonil in a rotation, doing two applications in a row before rotating.  The infected twigs and branches should be pruned off about two inches back into live wood, and then prunings should be destroyed. Prune only when plants are dry, and sterilize tools between each cut by swabbing them with a solution containing 1 part rubbing alcohol and 3 parts water or use a solution of 1 part household bleach to 9 parts water.

Two of my Crape Myrtles have lost their leaves. They turned black and fell off and the leaves and now the tress have a horrible smell.
    A

It is important that you know exactly what you are treating on the crape myrtles first before applying any products. We recommend getting a proper identification by a local master gardener in your area. Please click the link below for their contact information.

    Q
Can Clearys 3336F be used by drench method to treat powdery mildew on dogwood trees?
Trees had powdery mildew last year. I want to treat them before leaf out this year.
    A
Clearys 3336F is labeled for powdery mildew but would be applied as a foliar spray only when the disease first appears and repeat every 7-14 days during disease period per the product label.  We are not able to find any soil drench product for this disease.

  • Asked by Russell from San Diego, California
    12/17/2015
    Q
Does Clearys 3336F cure this oak wilt on oak trees?
    A

Unfortunately, Clearys 3336F is not labeled for Oak Wilt and our understanding is that there is no known way to save an oak tree infected by oak wilt fungus. We recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office and/or find an arborist who can help you with prevention methods in case you have trees that haven't been infected yet.

  • Asked by W. from Chico, Ca
    04/07/2019
    Q
How do I apply Cleary 3336F to treat unkown root rot in Photinia?
I want to know exact directions to mix proper amount of 3336F in a gallon of water to pour around drip line of photinia from a watering can.
    A

For listed root rots, per the product label for Clearys 3336F Fungicide: Apply as a drench or directed spray using hand held, mechanical, or motorized spray equipment, or as a chemigation drench or directed spray using applicable sprinkler irrigation systems, after seeding or sticking of cuttings (8 oz) or after transplanting (12-16 oz) to propagation beds, containers, pots, trays, or nursery or landscape beds at a rate to thoroughly soak the growing media through the root zone.A general guide is 0.25 -3 pints of finished mixture per sq ft depending on the media type and depth (about 4 oz per 4 inch pot or 8 oz per 6 inch pot). Repeat every 21-28 days for adequate crop protection.

This would break down to using 0.08 – 0.16 oz (½ – 1 tsp) per gallon of water.

Keep in mind that this product does not treat phythium or phytophthora.

  • Asked by Ralph from Cataula, Ga
    06/25/2018
    Q
Can Clearys 3336F Fungicide be used to treat dollar spot on an Emerald Zoysia Lawn and also to treat my azalea bushes? How much should I mix in a 2 gallon pump sprayer?
    A

Clearys 3336F Fungicide can be used to treat dollar spot on turf grasses including Emerald Zoysia Lawn and can also be applied as a soil drench or foliar application to ornamentals. Please refer to the product label for the specific disease that you are wanting to prevent or treat.

For using Clearys 3336 F Fungicide when treating Dollar Spot on the lawn you will use 2 -4 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft and apply when the disease first appears and continue at 14 day intervals. The amount of water to mix the 2 – 4 fl oz depends on how much water it takes to cover the 1,000 sq ft area. We suggest marking off a 10 ft x 100 ft area, filling the 2 gallon sprayer with regular water and doing a “mock” application to see how much water it takes you to thoroughly spray the 1,000 sq ft. That is how much water you will want to use to apply the 2ft to 4 fl per 1,000 sq ft. Rotations and/or tank mix combinations with other fungicides using  chlorothalonil, iprodione, or mancozeb are also helpful.

  • Asked by Janis from Cleveland, Ohio

    Q
Does Clearys 3336F also contain a nematicide?
I want to use the same pump sprayer for Clearys 3336F and beneficial nematodes (not at the same time, of course). The company that sells the beneficials said I should be fine as long as I don't use a nematicide. Some products are both fungicides and nematicides. Is Clearys 3336F?
    A
Clearys 3336F is a fungicide and should not harm nematodes as it does not contain an insecticide. For additional information, you can speak to the manufacturer at 800-524-1662.

  • Asked by S from Carbondale, Il

    Q
Will Clearys 3336F Fungicide work on dwarf mondo (ophiopogon japonicus) that have anthracnose and rhizoctonia root rot?
Should I use a non-ionic surfactant with it?
    A

Yes, Clearys 3336F Fungicide is labeled for both anthracnose and root rot. It does not, however, specify on the label that a surfactant is necessary. You could potentially add a surfactant for fungicides when treating very waxy plants, but it would not be required.

    Q
Is Clearys 3336F effective to treat entomosporium on Indian Hawthorn?
    Application rates for leaf/soil?
    A

Yes, you can use Clearys 3336F Fungicide to treat entomosporium leaf spot on Indian Hawthorn or on other ornamentals. Per the product label, use a foliar application at a rate of 12-16 ounces per 100 gallons (or 3/4 - 1 tsp per 1 gallon of water), and apply when disease symptoms first appear. Repeat every 7-14 days as needed during disease period. Rotations and/or tank mix combinations with mancozeb or chlorothalonil can be utilized.

A good rotation product with Chlorathalonil would be Bonide Fung-onil Multi Purpose Fungicide Concentrate. Bonide Mancozeb Flowable with Zinc Concentrate can be used on its own or tank mixed for extra contact kill of the disease.

    Q
Will Clearys 3336F Fungicide work effectively for maintenance for pink rot on canary island palm?
I've got pink rot on a 40 foot canary island palm.
    A

Clearys 3336F Fungicide prevents and controls turf diseases and the diseases of annual and perennial flowers, bedding plants, foliage plants, ground covers, and deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs. It is not specifically labeled for pink rot on palms so we cannot provide evidence of effective prevention or control. We recommend that you consult with your local cooperative extension office Master Gardener for alternate options.
