Chlorothalonil 720

There are two types of fungicide--systemic, that are absorbed into the plant, and "blockers" that help prevent fungus spores from damaging the plant. Chlorothalonil is a blocker, and despite my doubts about a "blocker" working, it definitely kept a fungus attack from expanding. So I give it 5 stars. You should consider using a systemic fungicide "every other time" to keep the disease from developing a resistance. Also, customer service at DoMyOwn is five stars+.

Great contact fungicide
By Jerry on 09/26/2020
I used this at 1/2 rate with a 1/2 rate of Ppz / Azoxy..... In my TTTF, I had been using the Headway type mix at 1.5oz/1,000 every 3 weeks since April, and still had disease smoldering in the crown of my first year grow in... Added this to my mix in mid August, and finally healed up all the fungus issues..... READ THE HEADWAY FUNGICIDE LABEL... It recommends this... none residential areas of course ;) .....

It works
By Paul on 09/24/2023
This product works but is very restrictive in its usage. You cannot use it on residential lawns, near schools, apt buildings. I use it on a golf course for a client. Some of my other residential clients has ask me to use it and I refuse because I don't want to get in trouble if anything goes wrong. I bought it primarily because of the price.

You would use between 1-2 oz of Chlorothalonil 720 SFT Fungicide per gallon of water for needlecast on spruce trees, spraying all current damaged areas and surrounding foliage to protect the tree.

Chlorothalonil 720 SFT Fungicide is intended for larger scale applications at the rate of 5.5 pints (88 fl oz)/per acre. This would break down to 2 fl oz per 1000 sq ft in a sufficient water volume for foliar applications. For smaller applications, Garden Tech Daconil Fungicide would be an easier rate per applciation. For Rhizosphaera Needlecast, the rate per the product label is 3 tbsp per gallon of water.
Keep in mind, there is a risk of bleaching Blue Spruce with chlorothalonil for diseases. For best effectiveness, fungicides should be applied when the emerging needles are half elongated (1/2 to 2 inches in length).
