Excellent Product
By Anonymous on 07/23/2013
Several years ago I was the caretaker of a retreat for my church. One year I found carpenter ants on the outside of the retreat and one inside. I contacted a professional to take care of the problem. (This man has a Doctorate in Entomology and is a retired college professor). He used and highly recommended the product Advance 375 for ant and termite control. Ever since that day I've used and recommended Advance 375 to friends and others that have had ant problems. One Note; I liked Dr. Grable's outlook about insects: "They aren't pests until they invade out space"!

Advance 375A Select Granular and Optigard Ant Bait Gel
By Margaret on 05/30/2014
We achieved the results we hoped for - no more Carpenter ants! This is a great site, informational and educational. It was easy to learn about the ants, which product(s) we wanted, and how to use the products. We had major problems with the ants last fall, and have had no reoccurrences in the six months since then.

Worth the Price
By Sarah on 06/27/2014
Our lawn was infested with ants and we have a half acre lawn. I contacted multiple pest control companies - no one would touch it. After trying a variety of products last year with little success, this granular bait along with a liquid bait has worked wonders. Are all the ants gone? No. But after 3 weeks of using it, at least half of them are done and my grass is starting to grow back in. The only downfall is that my dogs are very much attracted to the bait as well so I have to be very careful when and where I apply it otherwise the dogs want to lick it up.

100% SUCCESS
By Dave on 07/28/2014
I have 375A several times and I have always been successful. A professional explained to me how it works. This product takes time for the ants to feed the product to the queen. Results are not immediate, it takes one to two weeks for the bait to reach the queen and for the colony to die. It helps to locate nesting sites and to be more generous in application in those areas.

Good For Carpenter Ants
By Andy on 09/03/2014
Have used on outdoor ant-hills, ants in tree roots, and for ants in a wood structure. They take the bait home, and the colony dies out. Does not seem to work on small ants, but the big black ones are what we tend to have in eastern Ohio, and this is the stuff for them! Just a few teaspoonfuls on the hill, or in ant pathways does the job, usually within a week or so.

Whoah. It works!
By Eric on 10/04/2014
I live in Southern California, so we are basically over-run with Argentine ants. Even though I read the reviews, I really didn't think that this bait poison was going to work so well. It would just be another tool in the losing fight against these pervasive pests. The ants attacked the granules like fat kids on cake, so I guess the bait profile was spot on. (It smells a bit like fish food) Imagine my surprise when after just 3 days of doing a broadcast spread around my property, I saw not organized rivers of thousands of ants but staggering dozens only. Three days after that and I could only count 30 ants on the whole property. The colonies were effectively wiped out. Next year they will be back but I will be ready.

Performance of Pest Control
By Robert on 04/20/2015
I have been applying the bait as recommended for several weeks now and have yet seen any results. The only contact that the ants have with the bait is that they remove it from their location. I have watched them do this after continuous applications of the bait. I do find it rather funny to watch them clear the bait away and become dismayed that after all the expense on pest control I still have issues with the colonies in various locations around my property. This is a serious issues for me and have yet to find a method that will actually work on getting rid of these pests. For the performance of this product I would have to rate no stars at this time, but alas I have to at least rate one to submit this review. I hope others that use this product have better success.
Expert response:
Baiting for ants sometimes can be tricky because the appetite of a colony can change frequently and without signs of when or how often this may happen. The bait you purchased is for most common types of ants that are seeking protein foods. If a colony is not seeking protein, then we recommend using a liquid or gel bait, such as Maxforce Quantum: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/maxforce-quantum-ant-bait-p-1884.html. You also want to apply your bait when the ground is dry and you are not expecting rain or watering within at least 24 hours. Also, different chemical methods of control may be more suitable, depending on exactly which type of ants you are finding.
As always, we are happy to discuss your situation further to better assist you. You may reach us by email anytime, by live chat on our website, or via telephone at 866-581-7378 M-F 9a-5p EST.

Tiny Black Ants
By Donald on 04/21/2015
We have had repeated invasions of tiny black ants, the most recent being from December to March in the (New England) winter of 2015. We've never had ants in the winter before. Hardware store products were of no use -- we tried them all. Finally, someone recommended DoMyOwn and a young woman there recommended this product. The ants took to it immediately (along with the gell) and disappeared from kitchen floor, counters and stove. A few days later there was a minor invasion, but another dose of the two formulas killed them off immediately. They are gone! A small down side: the product on a warm day has a very rich odor, but that one day was a small price to pay for such quick and thorough results. I recommend this product above all others we have tried.

YES!!!
By Paul on 02/05/2016
This stuff is awesome. We had a real bad carpenter ant problem in our house. They were entering through multiple locations into the house. I use the Demon WP outside, but that seems to have a limited effect. We sealed all the holes but they still got in. So I bought this and the gel and a hunting I went. The key is to hit them directly at the source. I would put it in the house, but it only held them off for a week or so. Instead I ended up tracking the ants back to their home and I would put a few tablespoons of this stuff right on it. Within hours they gathered it/ate it. The ant problem stopped immediately. THANK YOU!!

Excellent compliment to carbohydrate bait
By Duane on 04/26/2016
I have used carbohydrate based bait for years with success but this year I took your advice and added a protein bait. To my surprise they hit both hard, it's only been a week or so, too early to judge results, but based on the amount of protein bait taken I am expecting good results.

It works!
By Sd on 07/25/2016
Each spring, for 20 years or so, brings small black ants into the kitchen area of our house. Not too bad we just got clear liquid sugar liquid baits and they were gone 'til next spring. Not this year! A dirty dinner plate especially meat, would be covered with the buggers in no time. Like they came out of no where. The "Ant Control" page here mentioned that ants may decide to seek protein so I ordered this. I opened it and sprinkled some on an ant trail on our deck. They stopped in their tracks and started hauling it off. I poured out 5 small piles where the trails disappeared into the house and under the deck. Next morning the piles of bait were gone! That night, no more ants! Great website!! Great product!! (I would be careful putting this where the dog might catch a whiff of it. )

It works.
By Mark on 08/20/2016
Had the Maxforce (sweet) bait and Advance 375A. The ants definitely were in the mood for some protein. Put near ant trails and the trails disappeared over night. Use bait for about a week(It was dry outside). Then sprayed my foundation with Termidor SC. Ant population greatly reduced around my house. I don't see trails or groups of ants any more. Just rogues every once in a while and they could be on their way to meet their maker.

This stuff works!
By Bob on 08/24/2016
I used a bit of the Maxforce FC Gel bait along with this stuff, but the carpenter ants mostly turned their noses up at it. I guess they were in a protein mode. Some of the little dirt ants went after the Maxforce, but I didn't really want to harm them so I stopped applying the gel. This stuff, however... I put down a lot of it(1/2 of a bottle!), and every single grain was scarfed up - by the ants in my house, and perhaps by the entire network. There was a line of the smaller carpenter workers running out to the pile of this stuff I'd dumped, and rushing back with it. 4-5 days later, I see hundreds of carpenter ants dead or dying on my living room floor. Nothing else has done that - not even trying to crank a duster bulb full of Delta Dust into the soffet vents of my house(the nest being up in the cathedral ceiling). No more activity - no sawdust or insulation fragments on my sofa for the last 3 weeks. This stuff saved me the trouble of getting up on a ladder and trying to pump Delta Dust into a hole high up on my cathedral ceiling woodwork. Instead, these hard working little dudes carried the poison up there for me, no ladder necessary. In addition, I used to see a lot of large-ish ants(probably all carpenter) all over the yard and driveway. Nothing now. Not a single ant(except for the small dirt ants). I think this stuff nuked essentially the entire supercolony, not just the satellite nest in my house. Nothing around the house, the driveway, the patio... Nothing. Thanks, DoMyOwn and Advance!

Stuff does work
By John on 08/27/2016
Keep in mind this only works if you se carpenter ants You can't just put it down and wait for ants to find it it has to be an active trail. If you see ants in your house it's a myth your whole house is infested chances are you have a few colonies Outside and they are coming in for food. You do have to find the outdoor colonies for this to work I found them in and around mulch near the house and near some wood piles and a few tree stumps. You have to use granules out side And gel inside where you see them.use gel inside where you see them , then buy enough gel to go around house to put gel in every Crack or crevice in house . Just be ready to be freaked out when a few of them get in or one of them gets in put the gel near them I saw one in a picture window near mulch and tree stump then I went to store returned there had to be like 20 to 30 ants swarming the gel that night they were gone. You have to resist killing them so the gel will kill them selves. My only wish is that as soon as you put the gel down they'll smell it for anywhere then start eating it oppose to waiting when you see them, I guess no one invented that yet. We had a pest guy treat first year but we fired him cause all he did was spot treat
