Yes, you could use the Advion Roach Bait Gel anytime, you just would not want to apply sprays on top of bait placements or vice versa. If it has been two months since anything was sprayed, it should be fine to use bait gel. Our Roach Control Kit Rotation C contains the Advion Roach Bait Gel, Temprid SC (spray), and Gentrol Point Source Stations to target immature stages, as well as glue traps to help you monitor your treatment.
Advion Roach Bait Gel could be used in a car but we would recommend only doing so inside a bait plate station. Another option is just use the Advion Roach Bait Arenas.
You want to apply the Advion Roach Bait Gel every 2 weeks (cleaning up previous bait placements). Give it some time depending on the level of activity and how long they have been present. Baiting will take more time to transfer through the population. We also suggest applying a perimeter residual spray and an insect growth regulator (IGR) in your treatment process along with non-chemical methods. When Advion Roach Bait Gel is runny, this usually indicates that it was stored in an area where it got too hot. If you were using it soon after receiving it, it may be that the product sat in a hot delivery truck before it got to you. While this will not affect the efficacy of the product, if it is difficult to use, it should firm up again if you place it in the refrigerator for a day or so.
You can use an insecticide spray and a bait like Advion Roach Bait Gel in the same room at the same time, just not on the same surfaces. The rule of thumb is spray low (areas like baseboards, kick plates below cabinets, and under appliances) and bait high (in areas like inside cabinets and drawers and up higher near small appliances such as microwaves, toasters and coffee pots). Please take a moment to look over our Roach Control Guide for more information on treating and preventing a roach infestation.
Any Advion Cockroach Gel Bait that is purchased from our company will be fresh non counterfeit stock as we get it directly from the manufacturers supplier. You can actually call Syngenta themselves and they will advise to purchase through our company as they know we do not allow anything other than fresh correct stock to move through our warehouse. The counterfeit Advion that has circulated online was sold primarily on Amazon and other non reputable sites. The SCP number you are referring to has nothing to do with when the batch was produced. Those are codes for the labels themselves of when they were last updated or printed for the product. The old tubes of Advion had a specific release date shown. They now come with a code on the tube itself that will look along these lines: ABW9C29025. The first 3 letters will usually be "ABW" which can be ignored as this corresponds to the facility the batch was produced in. The next number is for the last digit of the year it was produced. For 2018 this would be ABW8 for example. To indicate the month it was produced, the letter after the year in the code would be in alphabetical order if January = A, February = B. So a Lot of ABW8B would be produced in February of 2018. Advion baits are good for 5 years if stored properly.
The color of each batch will vary slightly due to temperatures used during the manufacturing process and the inert ingredients and where they are derived. Should you find some with a wildly different color, you can always submit a photo to us for us to review and look into.
Exposing Advion Cockroach Gel Bait to extreme hot or cold temperatures can affect the potency and attractiveness of the bait, which can cause roaches to avoid the bait, so it will not kill effectively.
Advion Roach Bait Gel should be applied once every two weeks (cleaning up old bait placements prior to new applications) to keep the roaches attracted to the product. Adding water to the roach bait gel is not necassary and may reduce the efficacy.
While you could use both Advion Roach Bait Gel and Alpine at the same time it would be better to instead rotate between them every 3-4 months to prevent resistance build up to any one bait.
Advion Roach Bait Gel is an actual food source for roaches. So if you have only seen one roach currently we would not recommend you put it out as it can attract roaches to the area. You could have brought them with you in boxes when moving. Monitor your areas, and should you see more roaches then we would recommend using the Advion at that time.
The Advion Roach Bait Gel active ingredient would only work on roaches. However, if you are treating for roaches, you are also eliminating a food source for the spiders, so they may leave the area in order to find food elsewhere.
When using the Advion Roach Bait Gel you could use a Bait Plate Station we sell. These are low profile and economic. The stations keep sticky gels and granular baits in a contained space that is off countertops and other surfaces, but allows access to the bait for roaches. Be sure to remove the perforated tab when using Bait Plate Stations for roach control so that larger roaches have enough space to access the bait. Keep in mind that roaches will generally accept bait best when it is applied directly to cracks and crevices, rather than in a station.
Since you are applying a gel and not a spray, there is nothing released into the air, so there should not be any respiratory issues when applying Advion Roach Bait Gel. That said, if you have any health concerns, it is always recommended to consult your doctor before applying this or any other product.
Advion Roach Bait Gel is safe around children when applied as directed. You are applying the bait in areas that children cannot access so they should not come in contact with it. We have a great video here that shows where to apply the bait.
