Product Overview

Bait Stations are low-profile, economic and easy-to-use plastic stations that hold gel, liquid and granular baits for ants, roaches and other crawling insects. The stations keep sticky gels and granular baits in a contained space that is off of counter tops and other surfaces, but allows access to the bait for ants and other insects. By using bait plate stations you can offer 2 different baits at one time in the same locations giving finicky insects an option to choose the bait they prefer. Bait plate stations also work to keep bait fresh for a longer period of time thereby saving you money and time because you do not have to change the bait as often. This product does not include bait. (See Ant Bait , Roach Bait )

Bait Plate Stations:

  • Transparent plastic-allows you to see if there is activity in the station or if the bait needs to be replenished
  • Two sided bottom tray allows the use of two different types of bait at one time in one place-liquid or gel on one side, granule on the other.
  • Removable tab allows for entrance of bigger insects like large roaches
  • Can be placed flat or tacked on walls -put the bait where you need it
  • Keeps bait fresh for longer periods of time
  • Reusable-clean and reuse

How to Use Bait Plate Stations (Video)

BAIT IS NOT INCLUDED (See Ant Bait , Roach Bait).

The BaitPlate Station can be used to give access to liquid, gel or granular baits for all crawling insects. These are not traps but allow the insects such as ants access to the bait to be able to return it to their colonies.

The halves of the station will need to be snapped together. Snap each of the 4 corners securely. If using liquid bait, be sure that the male channel on the top and female channel on the bottom are completely mated together with no air gaps, paying particular attention to the corners, otherwise it may leak.

For baiting ants and German roaches, the little tab on the top should be snapped down into the hole.

For baiting American roaches or other larger insects, open the tab or remove it altogether by tearing it off at the perforation.

To secure the station, use the hole provided or use the sticky dot. Press the dot (with the release paper still on) onto the bottom of the station on the flat part where the hole is and then peel off the release paper and stick down the station.

The BaitPlate can be placed flat or vertically on a wall. If using liquid bait on a wall, a tack may provide more security than just the sticky dot.

    Add these to your order!

    By Ellen on 05/29/2010

I wasn't going to get these bait stations, "I don't need them", I thought. I threw them in the order at the last minute. Boy was I glad!!! A neat little accessory that kept the bait and gel all together. Made it easy to set-up and clean up. Well worth it!! Get the bait plate stations and make your life easy and safe.

    Safe to Use

    By Pat on 07/02/2010

These are inexpensive and easy to use. I partially filled them and put them by the cat dish. Within two days the ants were gone. And there was no worry of the cat stepping on it or poison getting in her food. Note: I partially fill them in case someone steps on it so it doesn't squeeze out the end.

The bait plate stations are very cheap quality at a high cost. I was desperate and the manufacturer knows that. A very inferior product!

But did the job. took me a few minutes to figure out how to keep the gel on one side, the granules on the other, and keep the top secure.

Q
Can I melt down this roach gel , add Vaseline to keep it moist and add roach dust and maybe some sugar?

The roach gel gets rock hard and ineffective quick. It takes up space because I need to put down another application on top of the old gel bait.

A
Heating up the roach gel to the melting point could render it ineffective as the active ingredient is liable to breakdown. Adding roach dust or vaseline will most likely contaminate the bait and make it unattractive to the roaches. You can place the roach bait gel into reusable bait plate stations to stop the gel from drying out and to avoid having to place the product directly on surfaces where it would be hard to remove. Many people choose to place the gel bait on small pieces of plastic wrap or foil to avoid placing it directly on surfaces where the gel may be hard to remove.

Q
What's the space needed in between bait stations for outdoor use? Should I place them every 10-20 feet apart?
A

There is not a specific amount of feet in between stations for indoor or outdoor baiting. Below are some helpful baiting tips.

How to Apply Bait Indoors: Apply small placements in cracks and crevices, especially where ants are seen foraging or entering the structure. Inspect gel placement and reapply as needed. For optimum success, follow the directions printed on the individual product label.

  • Additional Indoor Baiting Tips:
    • Remove competitive food sources. Practicing good sanitation is the best way to remove food particles or spills that may serve to deter ants from accepting chemical baits.
    • Always use fresh bait. As a rule, only place baits with packaging that was opened within the last 6 months.
    • Do not use residual sprays or dusts anywhere near bait placements. Doing so may either kill ants before they can take the bait or repel them from seeking out chemical bait.
    • It is better to err on the side of too many bait placements than too few. If possible, place baits at all potential entry points.
    • Do not move or tamper with the bait once the ants have begun feeding.
