    A

  • Asked by Ben from Fresno, Ca

    Q
Is roach bait, such as the Alpine gel good to use in apartments where the roaches are coming from outside?
Will the bait attract more roaches, or will it keep them away as well?
    A
Yes, Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait is a great roach gel bait. The roaches will come out pick up the bait and transfer the bait back in to the wall voids to where the other roaches are killing them. Please  make sure to thoroughly clean and keep foods sealed, as not to deter the roaches from the bait. It will not keep them away, nor will attract more. Just make sure to clean kitchen of any greases, or other organic material.

  • Asked by Mark from United States

    Q
Does the Alpine Gel kill only adults?
We had the house treated (basement/crawl space) and inside with a spray/dust and the Alpine Gel. After 4 days we are still seeing 1-2 "baby" german roaches waking around on the counter. Does the bait kill them as well or do they have to grow up before the bait will kill them?
    A
Alpine bait gel does kill adults and babies. They do have to eat the gel and come in contact with others. We would recommend using an insect growth regulator in conjunction with the Alpine bait gel to stop the roaches from reproducing. We would recommend putting out Gentrol Point Sources in various places around the home. These work for up to three months.

    Q
Which Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait do I start with?
I was told about this by a friend who has a friend that said this works, not sure which one to order?
    A

Rotate Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 1 Reservoir with Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 2 Reservoir for a full rotation program. The two baits have the same active ingredient, dinotefuran, but contain different food attractants.  You can really start with either one, just rotate to the other in 2-3 months if you still need to treat.

    Q
For light infestation, How many tubes do I need?
    A
For a light to moderate infestation, you will apply 10 spots of Alpine Cockroach Bait Gel per 100 square feet. The diameter spots need to be between 3-6 mm (0.25-0.50 g). The number of tubes used will depend upon the size area you are treated. Most homes use 2-3 tubes depending on the severity of the issue.

  • Asked by Joe
    12/15/2018
    Q
Should Alpine Cockroach Gel be used for roach prevention?
For a restaurant monthly maintenance service, should bait be applied as well as an insecticide, or should it only be used for an active infestation?
    A

In general it would not be recommended to apply Alpine Cockroach Gel if you are not treating for an active infestation.  If there are no roaches present to consume the bait you would basically be wasting the product.  You may want to look over our articles on How to Prevent Roaches for more information.

    Q
How long is Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 1 Reservoir effective after placing the bait placements?
After a few days, the gel changes to darker color and driz out to a significant degree. Within 10 days, it is more like gummy sludge than smooth gel when it comes out of the tube. Will the roaches still eat it when gas dried out like that? Is there a length of time or another objective way to know when the dispensed gel is still good or has gone bad?
    A

Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 1 is still effective as it dries, but is more effective while it is still soft.  You may consider applying the product with Bait Plate Stations, as they will keep bait fresh for a longer period of time, thereby saving you money and time because you do not have to change the bait as often.
