Product Overview

Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 2 Reservoir makes controlling the roach population in your home quick and simple. Using dinotefuran as its active ingredient and lasting for more than 30 days, the bait attracts all of the roaches to it, ensuring that the majority of the pest population will be treated, while minimizing any health or allergy risk. Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait kills your problem roaches within hours of application and is labeled for many food-handling areas, aircraft, and other sensitive locations where other insecticides would be difficult to use. Just follow the directions below on how to apply the product in each area. If applied outside, make sure to keep it out of direct sunlight and water, as the Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait will lose effectiveness over time. The product comes in a lighter color than competing gel baits, reducing the chance of it staining the surface it is applied to. Do not apply Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait in the same area as a liquid insecticide, near air currents, onto paper, cardboard, or porous surfaces, or in areas which can be exposed to high temperatures, such as stoves, fume hoods, and hot water pipes. For the best results, keep all surfaces clean and change baits every few months to keep the roaches from gaining resistance.

This item has replaced the Advance Cockroach Gel Bait from BASF.

We provide 1 Plunger PER ORDER to expel the bait from the tubes.  You can purchase extra plungers or you can purchase a bait gun for use with this product.

Rotate Alpine Rotation 2 with Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 1 Reservoir for a full rotation program. The two baits have the same active ingredient, dinotefuran but contains different food attractants.

How Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Works

Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait uses the active ingredient Dinotefuran. Dinotefuran is a newer non-repellent active ingredient that the EPA has granted Reduced Risk status for public health use. Dinotefuran is part of the insecticide class neonicotinoids, neuro-active insecticides that are modeled after nicotine. Dinotefuran is a central nervous system inhibitor that takes effect after insects ingest it. The effects of the active ingredient are slow enough that roaches who have consumed Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait will come in contact with other roaches and transfer the active ingredient, either directly or indirectly through feeding on feces or poisoned carcasses. There is no known pest resistance to dinotefuran.

Target Uses

Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait can be used for virtually any roach infestation when a gel bait is desired. The active ingredient dinotefuran is especially helpful for roach populations that have developed resistance to older or more popular baits. Alpine has an extremely broad label and can be used even in very sensitive situations, especially when sprays are either prohibited or undesirable. Gel baits are not ideal for preventative measures as they may attract roaches that were otherwise not in the area. Be sure to eliminate competing food and water sources for best results.

Standard Application Rates

  • 10 spots per 100 sq. ft. – Low to moderate infestations
  • 20 spots per 100 sq. ft. – Severe infestations
  • Use 3-6mm (1/8 – ¼”) diameter spots (0.25 – 0.50 g)

Indoors

Exact placement should be based on a complete monitoring and inspection. Applications should focus on cracks and crevices in areas where activity has been observed or is likely, such as near water sources, around pipe collars, where utilities enter, around or under appliances, underneath counters, where cupboard frames meet the wall, along drawer slides, along baseboards, doorframes, and windowsills. If using residual sprays, do not use sprays and baits in the same places: keep sprays in low areas on or near the floor and use baits in higher locations.

Outdoors

Use for control of cockroaches. Inject into cracks and crevices around windows and doors, porches, screens, eaves, patios, garages, under stairways and other areas adjacent to structures where cockroaches may find harborage. Environmental stresses such as direct sunlight and water will reduce the residual effectiveness, so apply bait in protected areas whenever possible.

step out in trust in this product

    By Wanda on 01/14/2017

I was told about this product from contractor doing some work on our new home. Believe me, it works. I had little faith in it, before purchasing this bait. But, I was very happy that I did, knowing that, if you see one or two roaches in a new home, they will multiply very fast. So nip it in the but, before they get started. Alpine Bait is what it claim to be and more. Thanks a million. Residents of Jennings,Fl. Please try this product and watch it work.

A

Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 1 Reservoir and  Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 2 Reservoir have the same active ingredient, dinotefuran, but contain different food attractants. You would want to rotate between the two every 2-3 months.

Q
Why have they discontinued Advance Gel Bait?
A

The Advance Gel Bait was renamed and repackaged by the manufacturer and is now Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 2 Reservoir. This was not a decision we have any part in but it is still the same formula. We have depleted our previous stock with the old labeling and name.

Q
Can you tell me how to decipher the codes so that I know how old my Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 2 Reservoir tubes are?

204888112 16 076 They are stored properly and unopened. I don't have the outer box anymore. Just the tubes.

A

The manufacturer of Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 2 Reservoir is BASF.

BASF uses a unique set of numbers to match up that product, when it was made, what lot it was a part of and how many were in that lot. Below you will see an example of a Cy-Kick aerosol can and how it is broken down. The batch numbers can vary in location on BASF products from just above the label on a bottle, to the bottom of a container or can, as well as on the sides of case containers or boxes.

On the bottom of a can of Cy-Kick you will normally see a few sets of numbers appearing as follows:

59011782 15 111

203923930 28570

Starting with the first row. The first set of numbers normally starting in 59- ex: 59011782 is BASF's article number for the product.

The second set- ex: 15, indicates the year in which the product was produced. For this can that would mean it was produced in the year 2015

The third set- ex: 111, indicates the numerical day of the year that the product was produced. So it was manufactured on the 111th day of the year of 2015. This comes out to show it was produced on April 21st of 2015.

The bottom row of numbers indicates the batch information. The first set- ex: 203923930, indicates the actual batch/lot number for the manufacturer. The second set- ex: 28570 indicates the container count of each batch.

Based on the numbers you provided it looks like March 2016.

Q
I put out Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 2 Reservoir 2 weeks ago but nothing happened. I think it might be too old because it didn't work.
A

Alpine Cockroach Gel Bait Rotation 2 Reservoir will be good for three years unopened and one year once the tube has been opened. It does take time for roach baits to work since the roaches have to consume it. We would also recommend doing a complete roach treatment with insecticide, such as Cyzmic CS, and an insect growth regulator, such as Gentrol Point Sources. Be sure not to spray the bait because that will contaminate it and the roaches will not consume it.

Please take a look at our Roach Control Guide for information on how to treat and prevent roaches in the future.
