Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide is only absorbed by vegetation and neutralizes once it hits the water. There is no risk to human health when swimming in an area that has been treated.
Per the product label:
"For Broadcast Application: Use 1.5 pints of this product per acre plus 2 or more quarts of a nonionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution if weeds are less than 6 inches tall. If weeds are greater than 6 inches tall, use 2.5 pints of this product per acre plus 2 or more quarts of an approved nonionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution."
So, a 2.5 gallon jug will cover about 13 and 1/3 acres.
For hand-held, high-volume application: Use a 3/4 percent solution in water plus 2 or more quarts of a nonionic surfactant per 100 gallons of spray solution and apply to foliage of vegetation to be controlled. A 3/4 percent solution would be made by diluting 3 quarts in 100 gallons of water, or 1 oz. of concentrate per 1 gallon for hand-held equipment.
You can refer to the product label for dilution rates and coverage for specific weeds and other applications.

Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide is labeled to control Phragmites. Per the product label: In other areas of the US (outside of FL and the counties of other states that border the Gulf of Mexico) apply 4 to 6 pints per acre as a broadcast spray or apply a 3/4 percent solution with hand-held equipment for partial control. For best results, treat during late summer or fall months when plants are actively growing and in full bloom. Due to the dense nature of the vegettation, which may prevent good spray coverage and unevern stages of growth, repeat treatments may be neccessary to maintin control.
Aqua Neat Aquatic Herbicide is not labeled for bushy pond weed. You may want to consider a product like Diquat instead, which is labeled for Naiad (another name for bushy pond weed).
