Everything's Rosy!
By Kathy on 07/23/2014
My husband and I tried Bayer Advanced All-In-One Rose and Flower care concentrate after our new double knockout rose bushes stopped blooming two weeks after we got them. I chose the liquid, thinking it would be easier than granules since I wanted to be sure the measured amount was poured precisely around the base of each plant. It worked fine, but it's poison to most things and not something you want to get on your hands or clothes. The good news is it worked great and our rose took off blooming in less than a week. I will use this product again, but since I'm handicapped and find it difficult to bend, I will likely get the granules. However, if you're a person who prefers precise measuring for each bush, this is the product for you!

Will this systemic product kill bees, butterflies, hummingbirds who feed off the flowering plants that I treated with this product in my home garden? I already applied it, without knowing. What can I do to protect my beneficial garden visitors who collect pollen and nectar from my flowers?
The Bayer Advanced All-In-One Rose and Flower Care product label does not carry a pollinators warning, so there is likely not enough active ingredient to warrant this concern. In general, we recommend using systemic insecticides on flower plants after petal fall if you have conerns about pollinators. You can also avoid spraying during the middle of the day while these insects are present, treating in morning or evening instead.

What if you want to mix it in a dial of fluid ounce sprayer? Can you do that? If so, what is the measurement of concentrate that I should put in the sprayer before attaching it to a hose and turning the hose on? I don't want to harm my flowers and I want the concentrate to be effective. I have quite a few flower beds that contain all different varieties of flowers and roses.
The Bayer Advanced All-in-one Rose & Flower Care is made to use as a soil drench, not as a foliage spray which is why the manufacturer does not recommend using the product in hose end sprayers. If you do choose to use the product in a hose end sprayer you must make sure you can properly calibrate the sprayer to only dispense the amount of product per gallon of water that is recommended for your use and you should only use the flowerbed dosing as you will also be spraying the plant leaves:
