Great Product! Gets rid of mild bed bug problems.
By Bedlam on 01/17/2009
I had a mild infestation due to an adjoining apartment. After reading up on bed bugs I thought I would never get rid of them. But after about two months of using BedLam Insecticide to treat spot areas and furniture they were gone. I also have a dog and he did not get sick. The residual effect also kills other bugs you didn't even know you had. Remember to put vaseline or mineral oil around bedpost and furniture legs to keep them from returning. Wash and bag all clothes while you are doing treatment. Use gloves when spraying and keep pets away until dry.

Great Product
By Greg on 12/22/2010
After previously paying almost $600 for 3 professional treatments, my bed bug problem was gone for only about 1 month until it returned. I bought 3 cans of this and the Drione dust to treat my one bedroom condo on my own. Rather than wash everything and bag everything up this time during treatment, I simply sprayed this all on the sides of my mattress (which still had an encasement from months earlier), crevices and around the baseboards of my bedroom walls and couch (basically anywhere my fiance and I would sleep). I figured they have to eat and would come into contact with the Bedlam when they came to feed. After the first treatment, we never saw another bug and my fiance never got another bite. It has been 3 months. Every 14 days I emptied out a can of the bedlam under my couch cushions, around bed and baseboards. Also sprinkled the Drione around baseboards and in couch. After 1 treatment the problem was solved, but did 2 follow up treatments just to be safe. I keep 2 cans of these in my closet just in case we notice more bites. Also, domyownpestcontrol.com is an extremely reliable service, with very fast (and free) shipping. Will never use a professional pest control service again!

Bedlam did the job, but with some effort
By Cynthia on 10/25/2009
My old apartment became infested with bedbugs, but the management didn't treat the apartment aggressively enough. When I moved to a new apartment, some of the bugs came with me, much to my dismay. I have applied Bedlam thoroughly to my bedroom floor, baseboards, and closets 10 times over a 3-month period. I think that I have finally gotten rid of the bugs. I had read that Bedlam is effective against bedbug eggs as well, which I'm hoping is the case. I have invested in a bedbug mattress cover and am carefully inspecting my bedding for any signs of bugs. I have also been keeping my clothes in plastic bags until I'm sure they're gone. I would recommend this product, but be consistent and diligent. I have also applied MotherEarth D to my bedroom floor using the hand duster. I continue to keep a very thin layer of MotherEarth D on my hardwood floor in the bedroom. I also used the Gentrol IGR aerosol twice, which I hoped help, but I'm not sure how effective it truly was. My only regret is that I didn't buy more Bedlam to begin with (since it is cheaper if you buy more from the get go).

And no smell to the spray! well some but it goes away after opening the windows and leaving the room for like 10 min! :) Really glad i got it! I am thankful to God for giving me this product! Bed Bugs
By Adrienne on 06/14/2010
Just wanted to write a great review for the Bed Bug Kit which included this product. We had bed bugs in our bed it was horrible and disgusting. We called a pest company and they wanted 800.00 dollars. I bought this kit from DoMyOwnPestControl and it worked. It has been a month and we are bed bug free. But I do recommend buying the bed bug kit since these bugs live in woodwork and drapes so just this product alone works better with the kit. I now just keep this in my bedroom and spray every week to be sure. Thanks to Do My Own Pest I have saved 700.00. Thanks

Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol can be applied to cracks and crevices, tufts, folds and seams of the mattress and boxspring.
Hello, My exterminator recommended this product for psocid (booklice) infestation. Does it work on them? Can you apply it on walls? And also, do I use it before or after DE?
Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol is not labeled for psocid (booklice), only lice in general. The product does talk about wall applications but not in reference to lice. If you were planning on using DE, it would need to be used in areas where you do not use this product as you cannot overlap products
The best way to control booklice is by lowering the humidity in the infested areas which in turn will help eliminate the mold and fungus these insects need to survive. Infested furniture and carpeting should be thoroughly steam-cleaned and vacuumed. You can spray your furniture with Steri-Fab Insecticide to get rid of any lingering insects.
I have 5 cans left of bedlam plus, the bottom of the can says 019 as the last 3 digits, possibly expired in 2019, are the cans still worth using? I did just order 6 cans of regular bedlam regardless.I used 1 of the older cans to spray the bed entirely, the couch and recliner chair, etc.
Manufacturers rarely put expiration dates on the products, because it depends on how you store them as to how long they will last. Typically as the products age, they will become less potent, so they won't just stop working, but you may not have the results that you expect. Bedlam Plus is specifically labeled for use on furniture. Apply to tufts, folds, edges, sides, and seams until damp. Allow to dry before reuse. Do not spray the entire surface of the cushions or back as this is not necessary
To use to spray carpet. mattresses and baseboards.
Yes, according to the Label, Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol can be used for the treatment of carpet beetles.

As long as you keep pets/children out of the area while you treat and until Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol has had time to completely dry or settle there is a reduced risk for children and pets.
My friend has used this bed bug spray and it works fine except on a large, electric-stuffed reclining chair...She has used 4 cans already....What else can be done for chairs to get rid of bed bugs? Is there another treatment to use??
Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol is a great product for bed bug control, however, an item like a recliner can be very difficult to treat for this pest. We recommend switching to Crossfire Aerosol since it has different active ingredients and a much longer residual. You can also apply insecticide dust such as CimeXa Dust using a Bellow Hand Duster to deeper cracks and crevices in the chair.
Please take a few moments to review our full Bed Bug Treatment Guide for more tips on treating this pest.
When Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol and other insecticides is still wet, the wet application could come off the surface by touch, clothing, shoes, etc to where if contact is made with skin or clothing it could readily be absorbed. Once the treated areas have dried the product has bonded to the surface and will not be removed.
I'm wondering if any one has used this product to kill off dust mites, I see it is mostly used for bed bugs.
No, Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol is not intended to be used on animals such as pigeons. View our Bird Repellent Products and Bird Traps for options to eliminate pigeons.
I bought 2 cans of bedlam for about $60 on Amazon. I want to protect my new jackalope mount. (I bought one years ago, but mites or something got it and all hair came off in clumps. 1) Can I spray bedlam directly on the mount? Or is there a better way to apply? 2) Can I apply indoors? 3) How often should I apply?
Bedlam Aerosol is labeled to treat bedbugs, carpet beetles and clothes moths as a crack and crevice treatment. Although it is water-based, we cannot recommend using it directly on taxidermied items.
We would contact your Taxidermist for their recommendations on protecting the mounts from insect or the County Extension Office for a positive id of the insect you are targeting.
.
Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol is not labeled for Bird Mites. Please review our How to Get Rid of Bird Mites in the Home for more information. If the nest has not been found and removed, this will be your first step to eradicating the infestation.
Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol should be reapplied every 2 weeks for bed bugs. This is a contact kill aerosol that leaves a 2 week residual but is only one part of bed bug treatment program. Bed Bugs require a combination of products including a residual insecticide, insecticide dust, insecticide aerosol like we have in our Bed Bug Kits as well as non chemcical methods. You will continue to retreatment every 10-14 days until you can go 30 days without seeing any signs of bedbugs.
Please review our How to Get Rid of Bedbugs for step by step instructions on a successful treatment program. .
I have an infestation in my bedroom and possibly house. The County Vector Biologist searched my bedroom and around the house, did not find Bedbugs, but determined I am getting bitten from bird or rat mites. Before I invest in a solution, I want to be sure this will address my particular issue of bird and rat mites. Thank you.
Bedlam Insecticide is labeled to treat only dust mites, so we would not recommend either product for either application. Please view our bird and rodent mite article here for assistance with identification to see what kind of treatment, if any, may be necessary.
When treating for Bedbugs, repeat applications should be done every 10-14 days using a combination of products. For a full Bedbug Treatment Program, click here. Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol is a contact kill and provides a 2 week residual however will not fully eradicate an infestation when used by itself. Apply Bedlam Insecticide as a spot treatment to cracks and crevices, around baseboards, floorboards, headboards, and walls. Click here for a video on How to Use Bedlam.
I need to keep the boxes and gym bags for storing items that won't be used for at least 3 months.
Bedlam Insecticide Aerosol can be used on sensitive areas and other areas where you need a fast knockdown. Bedlam will typically last for 6 weeks under normal conditions. The bedbugs that walk over the area will die, but they will not die instantly. It can take up to a few hours for them to die, so you will still see them. The only product that we have that kills on contact is Steri-Fab and even still, contact means it takes minutes, not instantly. If you are planning to store these items for 3 months, please look at using the Nuvan ProStrips.
